I have never done a review for a Dentist before...never felt like I should... let alone given 5…read morestars to any of them before. I can now unequivocally say that I have finally found a Dental office that I can wholeheartedly recommend. TIP: if you want to try a new dentist, the time to do so is when you are due for x-rays. It is highly unlikely that a dentist would share your records, so wait til you need x-rays, then go for the switcheroo. Especially important if you want insurance to cover it. Being due myself for x-rays and my next cleaning, I pondered my options of all the places nearby. Finally asked myself, if you could go to any dentist you've heard of over the past few years, who would it be? My answer was Dr. Elizabeth Rushin (based on recommendations that I had been hearing about for years)... but her practice is in Cary and I live in North Raleigh. Somehow I believed you should go to a dentist near you. After checking out some nearby options that didn't make me jump up and down, I decided that you know what...Cary IS NOT THAT FAR. AND...maybe it's worth the few extra miles to know I'm in good hands. And that's exactly what I got. Pluses: FRIENDLY...seriously, these folks will make you believe you're the only patient they've ever had and the best patient they've ever had. CARING...they take your blood pressure when you first go in for x-rays. Ever had a dental practice do that before? Uh, me neither, and in my case it ended up leading me to getting attention for high blood pressure and ultimately feeling a whole lot better. But I digress, as that won't be relevant to most. But they care enough to check it. Wow. CLEAN...not only is it spotless, but they are super conscientious with hygiene. Having come from a practice recently where I found myself cringing at times...here I was like oh wow, they GET this. I'm safe. COMFORT...This Dentist knows what she's doing. How to know? You can feel and see the know-how with not only the examination, but in the way the office is run. Not something to be taken for granted if you've been searching for as many years and experienced varying degrees of such for so many years like I have. FEAR...so my feeling is more of "I'd rather give birth, than have my teeth cleaned" than actual fear, but whatever degree your dislike is of the dentist, this practice caters to any and every degree of "fear". So much so that their website is called "end your fear.com". They constantly ask you if you're okay...they make it clear there are other options if the one they're using is not comfortable. They make you know they will find a way to make it okay with you, at your comfort level. MAGAZINES...current! Seriously...hah! Goes to show that attention to detail goes down to the lobby level. Not that you'll have a lot of time to wait and read, but they care enough to make sure even your reading options are up-to-date. So, I leave this review on a somewhat silly sounding note with the magazine comment, but let me just say that I take this, (my 300th review) seriously. And I can seriously and confidently recommend Dr.Rushin and her practice.

I was quite selective when searching for a dentist in the Raleigh area. I don't want to feel like a number, feel like I'm a nuisance when I'm in the chair, or feel like I'm being rushed through things. My consultation with this office left me with NO doubt whatsoever that I've finally found my new NC dentist! Every single person in the office was friendly and helpful. You can tell they care about their work and their patients' well-being. If you are afraid of the dentist, don't be! Instead go see Dr. Rushin and her AMAZING staff.

I will preface this review by saying my daughter…read moregot along well with each of the dentists she saw over the years and they seemed to have good rapport with her. I have no doubt that the cleanings she received were good. Hence, 3 stars instead of 1. I held off on writing this review, but my daughter has seen multiple dentists now and I feel it might help other patients. We had a billing error after our first visit as they'd submitted the wrong code to our insurance and then tried billing us directly over and over for a cleaning, which was covered by our insurance. I wasted hours of my time on the phone with both Riccobene and our insurance. I even had a 3-way call with our insurance company and Riccobene to get it settled. I'd been told the issue had been fixed, but I kept receiving bills in the mail. It was extremely frustrating, but it was a mistake- which happens sometimes- so we stayed with the office. I started getting rubbed the wrong way by Riccobene during 2020 with the up-charge for PPE during the pandemic, which by comparison to other dentists, was well in excess of what other offices in the area were charging (as discovered in a discussion on NextDoor). It was annoying, but maybe just a sign of the times, and that wasn't enough to deter me from the office even after the billing error, so we stayed a few more years. Perhaps this started to generally sway my perception of the office as a money-grab, though. It was at my daughter's final visit that I really started to question the practice. After my daughter had been seen, I was told that she had some cavities. As a late teen, she'd never had a single cavity before, but I didn't necessarily doubt the possibility of a cavity or two. We would have been paying out of pocket for the fillings, which according to their invoice, would have been just shy of $700 (all out of pocket expense since it was not covered by our insurance). They were fully aware of this because they stated that our insurance wouldn't be covering it and the expense would be out of pocket. It was when we checked out after the appointment that things started feeling off and I got an uneasy feeling. It felt a whole lot like we just walked into a used car sales lot with an aggressive sales team that was really pushing us to schedule the fillings immediately. It gave me such a bad feeling that I decided to hold off on scheduling the fillings. Instead, I went with my gut and I got a second opinion at a different dental office. My daughter has been seen at two different dentist offices since then and she's been seen every 6 months. One visit was the same week we'd been seen at Riccobene. I've never heard of cavities magically disappearing, especially within a few days, but according to the other offices, she did not have any cavities then and she still does not have any cavities. I left the office after that last visit with Riccobene feeling like they were aggressively trying to charge us out of pocket to fill cavities that perhaps didn't even exist. After being seen elsewhere, I feel it more strongly about it. I'm very glad I didn't schedule the fillings on the spot or pay the ~$700 out of pocket while being pressured to do so. Perhaps it was an accidental misdiagnosis (per cavity), but if you're paying out of pocket and things don't feel right, I'd suggest asking for solid proof of the issues or getting a second opinion elsewhere before moving forward. I'm glad I did.

First of all, Riccobene required mounds of paperwork and then once an appointment was finally scheduled, they inundated me with texts, emails and phone calls about confirming my appointment which I did the first time. I had made it clear to the office that I only have x-rays every few years because of a past scare with thyroid cancer. When I arrived at my appointment, they told me that my x-rays of two years were too old and they would not be able to do anything, including cleaning my teeth without a whole new panel. It was very obvious to me that this practice is only concerned about making dollars. I absolutely do not recommend them.

I had a major surgery coming up and I needed to have my dental issues clear before the surgery. A male Spanish speaking dentist worked on them, at the very same moment he installed the first bridge I told him that it didn't feel right, the owner of the place came and worked on it for a few minutes assuring me that after a few days it would feel fine, that I needed to get used to it. on the second bridge he installed a provisory one. I called a few days later and send many emails saying that the bridge he installed didn't feel right, that food was getting stuck and shape was not matching the rest of my molar structure, the color was way off compared to the rest of the teeth and I had a sensation when chewing. They ignore my messages for a long time. When they finally responded, they did so with the assumption that I was going there to pay for the one that I had the temporary tooth worked on. I told them that I needed the one that was given me issues fixed. They said in an email that I needed to pay for the temporary bridge over $5000 in order for them to fix what they did wrong. In January a few months after my surgery, I responded saying that I only wanted them to fix what they did wrong with my bridge, basically I wouldn't allow them to work on my mouth on the other bridge. They were only thinking on the money without any regard for my health, they were upset because I complained that the bridge they installed was a mess. And kept saying that it was me that I didn't like it. I told them that is not about like or not liking it, I complained because they did a terrible job with it, and to this date is causing lots of issues and discomfort. Then they send me a message saying that they didn't want me in their office again and saying that they will not send me to collection for a balance due on my account (I don't owe them anything, I paid a lot of money for the bridge they messed up). unless they also charge to answer emails. I am very upset and disappointed with Stapleton Dentistry of Cary. They treated me very badly, unprofessionally and without any compassion even though I explained to them that I was going to have a major surgery. to this date I am still struggling and suffering with the messed they did on my mouth, trying to save up to go see a professional dentist. Beware!!! Beware!!! Beware!!! (I know they will comment saying that they are sorry for the way I feel, but didn't do anything to correct the issue, and won't do anything after the review)

So first visit Ashley was awesome with my periodontal cleaning ( I get those 4x per year) She was gentle, knowledgeable, kind, professional and efficient! I met my dentist, Matt and asked about a couple crowns. He assured he could do it and today he did, with the assistance of Mia! I believe it was the smoothest crown work I've ever had. I never even felt a needle go in for the numbing. I had a particularly difficult kind of old crown to take off but he was completely confident and I felt very comfortable the whole time. Ashley, Mia, and Matt were very attentive to my neck problems and made sure I was comfortable through both those procedures. The facility itself is just gorgeous. There is a grand of coffee in the lobby. Plus water. Lobby comfy, roomy, and well furnished. Receptionists, check out staff, everyone professional and kind. I am thrilled to have found my dental care providers! Parking is at a premium, but a few more yards to walk is not a big deal!

I simply cannot believe they would treat a patient in acute pain this way. Consequently, I was forced to cancel the appointment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
