Although Apex is growing, it still feels like a small town to me, and Apex Smiles fits right in--small office, small staff, and convenient location near downtown. I like not feeling like a number, and Dr. Chirnalli and his staff are professional and friendly. They make sure patients are comfortable and understand what's going on with their dental health. Jean at the front desk takes the time to explain insurance coverage and what your cost will be (and their pricing seems reasonable!). I like that two days a week they stay open until 6 p.m. I once had an appointment after work at 5:30, so it's really convenient. During COVID, they take temperatures, do screenings, have you rinse with hydrogen peroxide and only allow patients in the office. If someone is coming with you, they'll have to wait outside or come back later, but that's a small price to pay for safety. A fun bonus--free wifi for patients! read more

I went to Dr. Chirnalli for cosmetic dentistry and I could not be more thrilled with the outcome! I have had several cosmetic procedures with many dentists (military family) over the past 16 years and his work is by far my favorite! (I love smiling now!) Just started going to Dr. Chirnalli since I recently moved into the area and I'm so happy I found him and his staff! They are super friendly and very professional. It was easy setting up appointments via telephone and before doing any work, they gave me a treatment plan sheet with estimated prices of what my insurance would pay and what I would most likely have to pay out of pocket. By far the best dental office that I have ever visited. Alison (SHOUT OUT TO THE MOMMY TO BE) is amazing, she takes the time to do the job right, and answer any follow up questions all while remaining calm, cool and collected. By the way, if you've seen the commercial from Orbit with the dirty mouth....Alison is the one to CLEAN it. My mom found this office first and now the whole family goes ( sister, husband, neice and brother in law). The bedside manner is what i love about them the most, everyone from Jean at the front desk to the Doc himself are really terrific. Are you afraid of the dentist? Been over thirty years since you have been to see one? This is the practice for you. Dr. C sees both my husband and myself. I was a high fear patient and let things go an incredibly long time. They made me a treatment plan, understood that I was self pay and that we would need to do things slowly, and NOW I have a healthy mouth. Next year, we will start on braces and cosmetic fixes. Dr C is so kind and truly gifted. Excellent at explaining what he does and why. Stephanie is my hygienist there and she understands fear and anxiety. She has a calming manner and total expertise. She is even a teacher at a local dental hygienist school! She is with you the whole time, patient, judgement free and always checking with you to make sure you are ok. I never want to be an imposition or ask too much of anyone and she makes you feel really comfortable and like you are not a bother. Jean runs things from the front and she knows and remembers everybody. She is so kind and thoughtful. She works hard to get you seen ASAP and is a wonderful liaison to a busy dentist. You feel like you have the personal attention of a small practice but all the excellence of a large one. Total recommend for insurance, self pay, emergencies, routine care and whatever is needed for the whole family. You will even look forward to your appointment and seeing this wonderful team. I want to share my story so others in my situation may be helped. I have 4 crowns on my upper front teeth. After a Lanap laser periodontal treatment several months ago the gum recession increased leaving the tops of my crowns and roots exposed. I became very self-conscious when talking and I hardly ever smiled anymore. My periodontist said I should wait a year before attempting to do any corrections on the crowns. The thought of looking like this for a year was very distressing. At this time I wanted to change my general dentist so I started the search. I have been in NC for 13 years and tried several dental practices during this time, never being very happy with any of them. Searching for a dentist is not an easy process, asking friends, searching reviews, etc. I decided to try Dr Chirnalli's office for a consultation and could not be happier! Dr. Chirnalli discussed my condition with me and understood how it affected my whole life. He explained what I might do, can't do and possible future work. To help me immediately, he suggested a soft removable insert to cover the root exposure on my front teeth. I was skeptical but I knew I had to try something. When the first appliance came in from the lab it was not what I had hoped for. I started thinking this is not going to work. Dr. Chirlalli explained it might take several tries. He agreed it was not to his satisfaction but reassured me. The second one came in from the lab and all I can say is WOW! It is a soft insert that snaps in above my upper teeth and looks like gum tissue. It fills in the spaces, covers all the recession and looks very natural. There is care involved as with any other appliance such as a partial or denture, but it is simple and what a difference it has made in my self-confidence. I find I am looking directly at people when I speak to them now and I am smiling again. From my first appointment with Dr. Chirnalli I felt he was concerned with my condition and how it affected my whole life. I find his expertise in perio and cosmetic dentistry as well as general gave me the confidence I needed to decide what route to take in improving my dental health. We all know that the staff is a very important aspect in any office. From the time I walked into his office they were friendly & welcoming. He has the utmost in professionalism, skill, consideration for patient's pain thresholds & their budget, and on top of these qualities is kind and caring. I've never met a dental professional who can give a shot that is virtually painless, but he can. I was always very terrified of the dentist, that is until I met Dr. Chirnalli and his crew!!! I immediately felt comfortable and a bit more relaxed than usual at the dentist.
