Like the other reviews stated, they specialize in Toyota/Scion/Lexus. I've only ever had my oil changed, but my husband has mad minor work done that he didn't have time to do himself. They do a fine job and we're very pleased, BUT I do think they are like other automotive shops that might recommend work that isn't necessary. For example, they told me one of the belts was worn (and a couple of other things) when actually it is fairly new. But they're not at all pushy and are very nice. THE BEST PART: The little box of candies and thank you note they leave in your car. It's so thoughtful! read more

I challenge anyone to find a stronger auto mechanic outfit in or around Lexington. They have done repeated, outstanding work on my Tacoma, and they've always made it so that I could continue working and meeting my obligations while my truck was in the shop. For example, yesterday I brought my truck to them in the afternoon, concerned about a noise I thought I heard in the transmission, and because I needed to return to work, pick up my children, run errands, etc., they loaned me a vehicle to use - free of charge - while they diagnosed my issue. They got back to me before the work day was over, explaining that they couldn't identify any problems, and offered to perform a transmission flush if I was still concerned. I told them I would get back with them first thing in the morning, giving me time to decide if I wanted to invest in the service, and then I decided early this morning that I would just pick my truck up. I showed up at 7 a.m., and though my truck was still on the racks, one of their managers stepped out and got it off the racks for me so I could get to work. When I tried repeatedly to pay them for their time diagnosing and using their loaner vehicle, he refused and just told me to come back. Bet on it. read more

I took my 2004 Camry in to get diagnosed. They told me it was the alternator and would be fixed by 4pm that day. It was currently 8am. They priced the new alternator at $598. I went to pick up the car and they told me it was not fixed. No explanation why they didn't fix it. Anyway, on my way home down harrodsburg road I called s&s tire at Beaumont centre. They priced it at $350. Dropped it off at 5:30 and got a call back at 6:30 that it was finished. read more

Lowell's goes above and beyond. While I don't believe it's usually their policy, our car recently wouldn't start and they happened to have a mechanic who was nearby so he came to the house to jump start it (and didn't even want any compensation for doing so). Today we were having trouble with air tire pressure and they took a few minutes out of their day to fix that for us as well. We had also been having trouble with the back windshield wiper fluid and they checked that for us (also at no cost). We are very appreciative that they clearly go beyond basic service to true customer service. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
