I was in need of a refill on my frozen pinkie mouse stock the other day so I headed out to a local…read morepet store who, in turn, pointed me toward Kreatures and Koi. Taking a look around, I was surprised to find K&K practices some good reptile husbandry that pet shops rarely, if ever, practice. I don't recall seeing many examples of multiple reptiles in one terrarium and the ones I did see were turtles and the like. That's really cool. Most shops will pile snakes on top of one another, even different species, just to save the space. I also don't recall them having the extra huge constrictors up for sale. The largest ones I saw were Burmese pythons and I think they had a Retic but it wasn't for sale. I hope. That's all good news too because lots of shops sell snakes like anacondas and reticulated pythons that no hobby collector has any business owning. They always underestimate how much work these monsters are when full grown and dump them in the wild. By not selling them, K&K is helping to prevent that from happening. The prices on the reptiles seemed fair but I have to admit that the only flaw was that they charge double what I used to pay for frozen mice so I may continue looking elsewhere.

Totally unhappy with their customer service... at least from the management position. Told me one…read morething, did another... If you do business with them, be careful. I had about $500 in fish, supplies, tanks, and accessories that I had to get rid of due to a move across country. I called and listed what I had. I got a quote for about $100 in store credit which I wanted to gift to a friend of mine. I packed up the fish (2 of them originally purchased from the same store for $50 each) and the equipment and when I got on site, I was completely denied. Nothing. "But we'll accept it as a donation" .... Jerks. What a waste of time.

My family was gifted a SC Aquarium family membership. My wife and kid have been a couple of times,…read morebut I finally had the opportunity to come with my kid. There is a lot to like about visiting. My interactions with staff were all very positive. How nice and personable staff were really stood out for me and my kid. We came on a slow Sunday afternoon so parking was decently easy at the garage across the street. Since this was my first time everything was fun to see for the first time. We loved the otters, the large tank with mermaids, and the touch tank. My kid also loved the indoor playground which we spent a good deal of time at. I really love the blend of semi-outdoor areas and the sundeck area. I really loved the variety of fish and animals. It was also really cool to see the snowy white barn owl downstairs. I am not sure how I would feel had I bought tickets to visit and it will also be interesting to see how often animals change which makes multiple visits fun and interesting.

Visited for the first time today…read more We purchased tickets ahead of time with a specific entry time. I would say the crowd level was bordering on too crowded. I'm not sure if they actually turn walk-ups away or not. We had to wait to get up close to some displays but not for too long. I guess that's to be expected on a Saturday. The touch pools and sting ray feeding areas were fun. There was a nice selection of fish, turtles and the river otters were adorable. It took us less than 1.5 hours to get through the whole thing, and that was taking our time. I guess that's what made it a little underwhelming. Probably wouldn't spend $80 to do it again.
