I visited several boarding places around Bluffton and by far Brooke's Bed and Biscuit out sold the others for several reasons: (1) SPACE for the $$. They have 5 suites, each $112 a night. You might think this is alot of money but for the amount of room the pups get it is worth it! (2) PERSONALIZATION of Accommodations. We were allowed to bring in our own dog beds, a carpet, their own toys, and even a light that could be a night light. I debated going back to get a TV! (3) OUTSIDE PLAY TIME and SOCIALIZATION. They got four (4) hours of outside supervised play time a day! The other places offered 60 min total, and another offered 90 min. Last, which should be first, (4) THE STAFF. Oh my! Let's talk FRIENDLY. Morgan and Laney were awesome - answered every question thoroughly with knowledge and experience. These people are on my Christmas card list! read more

I cannot give this "business" a low enough rating because zero stars is too high!! I used the kennel for the first time this weekend. Our dog is not used to being boarded so I did the best I could to make sure he would be as comfortable and secure feeling as I could possibly manage. I asked for recommendations and read countless reviews. I toured the facility. They had numerous open cages - one after the other filled with barking dogs. Nothing I would ever leave my dog in. However, they also had 4 "suites". Larger, enclosed rooms that I was comfortable with. This was about a month ago. So I verified at the time that a suite was available for the weekend we needed him boarded. She checked and said yes, there was one left. So I booked it that day. Then on Thursday, 2 days before he was to board, I called the facility to verify that they had his reservation and it was for a suite. I was assured that, yes, he was booked and they were looking forward to having him. Finally, when we dropped him off on Saturday morning, I yet again verified he was to be in a suite. And they said he was. However, we picked him up today only to find that they had put him in one of the open cages, exposed with dogs all around him separated only by the single wire divider! This was not an honest mistake. It was a deceptive decision by the facility to give the suite to someone else. I had checked and double checked and triple check his reservation. Either someone else offered a bribe to pay someone to give their dog the suite already booked or they decided to give our suite to some preferred pet who booked after us. All I can say, is if they will do this, what else will they do when a pet owner is not around???Beware!!!! read more

One word: Alyssa. She's an angel. My boyfriend and I had never left our puppy or kitty anywhere before, and we were terrified of it. We had to take our puppy to the Emergency Pet Vet the night before, which made us even more anxious, but we had to go away for Thanksgiving. I called in the morning and explained that we were anxious pet parents, and Alyssa was incredibly reassuring. She texted me pictures and videos every single day without me even asking just to show me that they were doing okay. Knowing our pets are in good hands when they need to be boarded is critical. I do not worry about my dogs at all when they are at Brooke's. My name is Jerry. I boarded my dogs with them so my wife and I could go on to vacation to Massachusetts. I'm not much for leaving reviews and I don't usually like to complain however don't board your dog at this facility regardless of the 4.5 reviews. We boarded both our chocolate labs with them for 7 days. When we got back in town I sent a friend over to pick them up and bring them to my house. He called me on the way to my house and said That the dogs smelled absolutely horrible, like they were sleeping in their own pee and poop. I brushed it off thought he was only complaining because they smell like dogs. I admit we don't groom our dog every single week but When he arrived at my house with the two dogs and I open the front door I was beside myself I could not believe That an animal could smell as bad as they did One of them had dried feces in his fur in two different spots. They both had patches of fur missing that they had been chewing on, when I bathed them to get rid of the smell the water in the tub turned pink because the sores they were chewing on were they must have had both the dogs crammed into one cage. It's now three weeks later I've given the dogs a bath several times the smell is gone but now the fur is missing , with blistering lesions. Dogs going to vet on Monday. I wish this was a false story but it's true. I'll leave you with a picture and you can decide for yourself. This is the first time I have ever left a review like this. My dogs are part of my family and I trusted them to look after my dogs . They had no problem taking my money though. read more

We have used Brookes several times in in the last two years for our dog when we have had to travel .. I am so happy with how they take care of my dog -he is always very happy when we pick him Up and also just as happy when we drop him off- my dog has never gotten sick from this facility and the staff is very pleasant to deal with ESP when they are dealing with two nervous people dropping off their little dog ... Records are not well kept (go ahead, ask to see your pet's folder, or any pets your dog plays with and see how few are updated) , management is not well organized, and from personal experience while the kennel attendants love love LOVE their pet friends, management does not care about anything but keeping things (barely) under control and revenue. The way they treat employees is extremely detrimental to the team, with no appreciation or recognition going to them even after years of hard work. It is sad to see what could be such an incredible business be driven into the ground because of lack of caring about employees, training procedures, scheduling, keeping vaccination records, legal paperwork, and so much more. If I could leave zero stars I would, but the kennel attendants can get them one. read more

We feel confident leaving our two labs at this facility. The staff clearly loves the animals in its care and it shows. Brooke is wonderful and so loving -evident by all the rescues she has taken in that were not limited to cats and dogs. You can't fake that kind of devotion. The staff does not watch the dogs properly! The dogs are able to get out and run across the highway. Someone's dog escaped from there within the last couple of months and was killed by a car. The managers never even called the owner to apologize! Unbelievable... read more

We boarded our two olde English Bulldogges here for five days and they were sooo happy and tired when we picked them up! I personally spoke with Brooke and she's so caring and genuinely concerned for every dog that come to visit them!! All of her employees are so nice and gentle and really get to know and love every dog... I will deff use them again, recommend them to everyone we know and totally worth driving the two hours from my house! We have 3 dogs who love to board at Brooke's. We used to take them else where and it was like pulling teeth to get them to go in. At Brooke's they jump out of the car and are so easy to get in. They always come home looking well cared for. This is definitely our choice for boarding. read more

I had the same issue as one other person about my pet getting sick and diarrhea when I brought her home. Two separate issues with this facility and will not ever take our pet back. The animal was perfectly healthy when she was dropped off. The staff at the kennel didn't even bother to tell me when I picked her up that she started having diarrhea the day before I picked her up. I didn't find this out until I called Brooke herself. I left the vet today with a 187.00 bill in addition to the 270.00 for boarding. Definitely will never take her back again. Oh the first time she was there she got fleas that was another vet bill. read more

I wish I could leave a better review. Our dog stayed for 3-1/2 days and came home sick and with diarrhea. We had to take her to our vet to get her better ( and bathe her again because of the feces still in her fur ) . She rubbed all the fur off of mouth area from stress . The vet said she had some intestinal issues and needed a shot and medication. So that was an extra $250. Bonus we had to pay for taking our dog here. I'm not disgruntled... I just want people to know . This had never happened to our dog at any other facility. read more

My family stayed in Hilton Head while our belongings were moved from our former home to our new residence. We boarded our three feline fur babies here for the week. The staff were friendly and courteous and we were able to visit our fur babies as often as we wanted. When in to pick my dog up after Christmas. He was not given his special Christmas treat. I was handed his plastic food container which now had a giant hole in the top of it. When I asked the white haired lady behind the the desk what had happened to it. Her only response was I don't know. When I got home I dumped out the rest of the container of food which was covered in small pieces of plastic and rat feces His 3 cans of food still in his bag and 3 days worth of must have medication still in its bag. I had asked that my dog get a bath. My white dog was brown. I understand that the holidays are a very business time for this kind of business but they really should have people working there that know how to take care of dogs. Advertises as a upscale boarding facility and upon taking a tour before choosing to take my dog there for day care while I was in town on business I was extremely disappointed. Kennels look like jail cells, dogs laying on bare concrete, horrible odor radiating throughout the kennel, yards barely had grass and were full of holes. I know a luxury boarding kennel and this one is no where close to the ones my dog as been to. And the prices are awful, total rip off. I ended up paying someone to watch my dog while I was working in their own home. read more

I have never written a bad review of anything before, but this has to be said. My husband and I left our 7 month old golden retriever there for one night over the weekend, and it erased months of training. First of all, when we picked him up, he reeked of urine. It was clear that he had just been stuck in a crate the whole time. Secondly, he usually comes back from our other kennel exhausted from so much play. This time he was WIRED (another clue he had been cooped up the whole time). The kicker is that he came back with horrible diarrhea and used the bathroom all over his crate twice last night and barked the ENTIRE night. He has NEVER done anything like that before. We usually use another local kennel, and nothing even remotely close has ever happened like this. Please do not subject your poor dogs to this neglect. read more

This place is amazing! My dog loves going for doggy daycare to play with other dogs. Brooke is very kind, knowledgable, and loves animals. I have also had my dog groomed there, and the grooming staff is top notch! I would recommend this place to everyone! Five stars!! read more
