Went to get some neon tetras and a glass lid tank I was having a bad day then a cute woman came and helped me. She was vary nice, she told me she also had fish of her own and was telling me about a red nose tetra. I ended up talking to her till she had to help some more costumers. I was quite disappointed in the stock they had. It seemed they had a lot of items out of stock and the floor looked a bit bare because of it. Tons of collars not available for example. They did help us find the right crate size so I am thankful for that. But you would be better off at petco down the street read more

A friend of our had recommended her mobile groomer. We loved the convenience and did a great job, but of course that came with a price. She seemed frustrated when I asked her to get closer to my pup's face since his hair gets in his eyes. She's always in my neighborhood including the day I reached out to schedule another appointment, to which she never responded so it was time to move on. Admittedly I wasn't keen on taking my pup to PetSmart but am pleased to say we've taken him there now multiple times, from nail grinds and sanitary cuts to a full groom. Jenny does a fantastic job, and Daria is good as well. Both remember our pup and are polite and professional. We'll continue to go there as long as we continue to have a positive experience! read more

I have been bringing my Dog for grooming to PetSmart and to the Okatie SC Store on Cooper Plate Road since that one opened and have always been happy. In fact, I've recommended that salon to numerous people. Since about August or September it has been very difficult getting an appointment there, especially on a weekend when that is the only time I can do it due to my work schedule. I finally got an appointment in October and while there booked appointments for November and December. Just before my November appointment I got a call that they were unable to groom her on her scheduled date and offered me 3 non weekend grooming appointment dates. I advised that I had to have a weekend appointment and was told that there were none available. I DID say that the situation frustrated me and that I may end up having to find another grooming option but I was not rude in anyway. Yesterday, I received a text message that my December appointment was canceled. No explanation was provided. When I called to ask why, I was advised that the only person who could talk to me was Caitlyn, who was unavailable. I called back an hour later and Caitlyn was still unavailable. She finally called me back after several hours from my initial call. She initially said that the appointment was canceled because I told them to cancel all future appointments in November when that appointment was cancelled (and if that were the case, why would they wait until just before my December appointment to cancel my appointment). I told her that was untrue and I did not want my December appointment canceled. She then advised me that based on my conversation with the clerk in November, where I merely stated that I was frustrated with the situation, all of the groomers were "uncomfortable" and no longer wanted to work with me. I advised that I have been going to that store for years, I was not rude, and had never had an issue. She saw from my account that I am a VIPP and how much money I spend there (hundreds of dollars a year) but said that I was still not welcome back to the grooming salon. She did say I could continue to shop there, which I found very insulting. If my being frustrated, and simply stating that I was frustrated, is cause to make all the groomers afraid of me, why would I be allowed in the store at all? Shouldn't Caitlyn worry that I will terrorize the store staff? I also question why Caitlyn did not call me right after my November conversation with the clerk who canceled my appointment to advise that I was no longer allowed to come there. I have, since that conversation, shopped there, and spent money I WOULD NOT HAVE SPENT there if she had called me right away. I feel robbed and taken advantage of by not being told I was no longer welcomed in the grooming salon. I would not have chosen to spend one more dime at any PetSmart store had I been told. Interestingly, I did not terrorize anyone before or after that November call, but apparently my long track record of being a good and loyal customer means nothing. I'm a 63 y.o. women. I doubt I would be capable of terrorizing anyone. Needless to say, I am very disappointed, and angry. As expected, I am unable to find another grooming appointment anywhere before Christmas. I wanted to leave a review on the store site but they have turned off the ability to leave reviews. I will continue to attempt to leave a review. As a customer, I should have the right to express frustration about a situation, in a non confrontation manner without being banned from the store. Moreover, they should be concerned about their staff if they cannot handle a customer saying they are frustrated without having a complete melt down. I've brought my morkie to PetSmart groomers since he was a puppy. In a previous location we had a wonderful groomer and we were sad to say goodbye to her due to our family move. Fast forward to another location we didn't have the best experiences--services were average. We moved again, coming to this location in Bluffton and I found Amy. From the first time I met her, she engaged me with previous notes from another petsmart groomer (that I wasn't aware of) and she assured me she would inform me with any concerns with my little guy & I greatly appreciated that. Not only was she professional, she was kind, and showed love & care to my dog, she did his bath & cut so well! It was the second visit back to Amy that prompted me to write this review because 1) she remembered me & my dog 2) she made him look & smell so amazing & 3) she used the same professionalism & care as our 1st visit, if not more! Thank you Amy, they are lucky to have you and we are so glad to have someone we trust with our little dude! read more

I am new to Bluffton and have used the PetSmart grooming service in Ohio for about a year. My dog has skin allergies and needs his hair cut shorter than normal. I was greeted promptly upon entering. We spoke with Nancy who told me she would be Zeus's groomer. She immediately focused on Zeus and getting to know him. She assured me she understood what I wanted, advised me about the dangers of the new stronger UV exposure and educated me on the prevention. When it was time to pick him up, I got a text and a friendly call. Zeus looked and smelled great. It was by far the best looking cut he has ever had. His nails were cut slightly more short, and rounded; I loved it as I have wood floors. Nancy did a phenomenal job. And the staff was very friendly. read more

This store has the worst grooming ever. They half cut my mom's 17lb dog. Still charging for a hideous cut job and then says we can't return because my mom's dog was "unable to follow instructions." Their Facebook page shows tons of people having serious issues with this store. read more

Came here with 5 minutes before they were due to close after sitting in ungodly traffic for over an hour due to construction and they had closed early. Knocked on the door and they completely ignored me, acted like they didn't see me! I could've gone to another store had I known they were planning to lock up early. This Petsmart is a great store!. The service people have been very pleasant and helpful to me. They are very knowledgeable of their products and helpful in taking them to the car for me when I have 50 pound bags. The attached Banfield Wellness Program is a lifesaver for me as I have three adopted dogs. I could not afford the pet care they provide without them. The store is very clean and well organized. GROOMING REVIEW: I hate that I have to say this... but just.... No. I *really* wanted to like this place. I had cut our puppy's hair once before myself, and it didnt look too bad, but I thought, hey, let's make her look even more fab! I took my beautiful little puppy here after a visit to the vet, and wanted to pamper her with a bath, groom, trim, nail file, the works! I know a popular cut for Lhasa Apso's is the 'standard look' but I specifically explained that I did NOT want the standard look. Everyone was very friendly, and we talked for a good 15 minutes about what we wanted, and I felt we were very clear in what we were looking for. I spoke to a guy who seemed to 'get it', but then he passed us off to a woman (who was again, very sweet) and we re-explained everything, but I feel a little like she completely disregarded what we said (shock!... only not really- I guess salons are salons no matter the species). They cut the hair on her nose WAY too short, and took a LOT of hair off of her ears, which we asked they not touch her ears.... and we asked them to BARELY cut the hair in between her eyes as it's not good on lhasa eyes to get *too* much sunlight as their eyes are so sensitive.We also asked that they trim her beard, but to keep it round, and they didn't. I don't know how else to explain it, but her head looks like three triangles: aka exactly what we feared when we went in and were assured it wouldn't be. She told us that as there were no other appointments for the day, she would take about 2 and a half hours which I thought was a little odd as she is a little dog, weight 10 pounds only. Regardless, I thought they knew what they were doing, so I went with it. Our puppy was very soft, and smelled very nice when she came out, but sadly those are the only good things I can say :( She looks so strange, it's like we're walking a different dog, which is a shame because she is such a beautiful little lhasa, looks like a teddy bear... although now she looks a bit more like the creepier ewoks, and a BOY, which is something that we absolutely didn't want (hence why we didn't like the 'standard' looking lhasa short cut to begin with).... Our baby could be BALD and we would love her just as much, I'm just disappointed that $45 were used to make her look sad and with a handlebar mustache instead of the smiley little round thing that she is. Our groomer basically did a lot of the opposite of what we asked (and left the hair on her body a bit too long, which is even MORE frustrating, like she did that so we'd come back for another cut sooner. Needless to say she'll be disappointed). As first timers, it turns out we did a better job at home with our own clippers last time. Save yourself the dough! I would not recommend coming here, as kind as they were to her. read more

My chief complaint has to do with an incident with a snotty employee after I left the store and went to my Vet's office. I moved here from the West Coast two months ago. I routinely shopped Pet Smart there and had no complaints. I buy my hypo-allergenic dog food at Pet Smart without a prescription for over a year. It is Royal Canin Small Breed which does not require a prescription. I was told at this Pet Smart Bluffton that I needed a prescription. I went to my Vet and they did not carry the small breed, but did sell me a bag of the regular to tide me over until I could order the Small Breed food. While I was there, in walked Pet Smart employee in her uniform and upon seeing me buying the food, she became snarky and literally made open comments to me, mocking me. She obviously was raised without manners or any concept of proper behavior. Had an employee of mine behaved like that ,especially in the company uniform, I would have fired them on the spot. She is an embarrassment to Pet Smart. So, I spend thousands of dollars every year tending to my pets and a good part of that has been at Pet Smart. I also go to Petco here, which is actually closer to my house. I find them much more pleasant to deal with. read more

Terrible customer service! I called to make an appointment, brought my daughter's dog in for treatment, and had no problem. I called back a week later to schedule a follow-up, but they told me I needed my daughter's permission! I explained she'd given it previously and why must she again? They repeated several times to the point where I wanted to see how many times I could get them to repeat what they'd already said. Twas a record 13 times! Place is dirty, staff is actually mean, stock is always low on the stuff we use and the staff seems ignorant of how to deal with the animals as well as the peaple! I moved to the area a year ago and needed a new dog groomer for my 13 year old Yorkie Bichon. I have never had a groomer take issue with his behavior and the only thing that happened twice over the 13 years was a new groomer cut him to close on belly and rear which created a very nervous dog for several days. I always tell a new groomer to be careful with the belly and rear. My first groomer @ this store did a great job with no issues at all. I recently went back and requested the same groomer but she had gone to another location. I gave the new groomer the same instructions. This trip was a DISASTER!!! I dropped my dog off @ 8:30. Had not received a call so I went to store to see if he was ready @ 12:45. The 2 groomers I dropped him off with were @ lunch. The other groomer said yes he was ready. When she went in the back to get him I heard him yelp and make unusual noises. I paid my bill and took him to my truck and noticed he was very antsy and his body was fully groomed and the head was hardly touched. I read the groomer notes and determined they expressed his anal glands without being requested to do so. I do not have his anal glands expressed. The notes also said they had to stop several times and cage him. At this point I hit the roof with the manager and innocent groomer who happened to be covering while the others were @ lunch. Not only did they not call and just caged him and went to lunch, but I was left with a dog that is irritated from the grooming and expressing of the glands. I am on day 3 and hope to get some sleep tonight as my dog recovers from the horrible experience. If the irritation does not subside today then off to the vet. In talking with another groomer elsewhere petsmart does not require there groomers to be certified. My dog is 12 lbs and the only comment a past groomer has made is how much he likes to lick them. Obviously, the luck of the draw gave me an incompetent groomer this time. Think twice about ever using this stores groomers. read more

This place is horrible. There are few pet stores in Bluffton so I use this one to try and keep my aquarium stocked. I soon will be getting rid of aquarium because of not being able to get fish. It is very difficult getting someone to assist me at getting fish. The quality of the fish is also very poor. Very few different varieties to choose from and always have the same old boring stuff. read more

Took my 6 month old Yorkie Puppy to Pet Smart in Bluffton, SC for grooming today and they cut off a quarter inch of his ear!!! They treated this as if it were nothing and did not apologize until they knew I was angry. Subsequently they did have their vet cauterize and glue the ear. They seems to feel that not charging for the incomplete grooming or the vet was doing me a favor. I stipulated that I will follow up with my vet at their cost and will not longer use or recommend their grooming service. read more

I have to say, out of all the Petsmart locations I've been to this has got to be the worst. Great customer service does not exist here. Like another reviewer mentioned, no one says anything when you walk in. When I walked in there was no "Hello" "How are You" or anything. The girl at the register wasn't even paying attention and was on her phone. I was visiting the area from Florida and needed to buy some items for my pet before arriving to our condo on Hilton Head. It appeared that the certain Blue Buffalo food I was looking I could not find but luckily a British male employee by the name of Graham was working on a shelf close by so I asked him for help. When I walked over and asked for his assistance he looked at me and gave me some attitude saying " What do you need?" He looked a little angry/annoyed that I bothered him. Oh! I'm sorry! You're working a retail customer service job and you don't want to help a customer??? After telling him what food I was looking for he told me that I was in the right aisle but it didn't look like they had any left. I really was in need of this food so I "Kindly" asked him if it was possible to check in the back to see if they had any more. This is something that the Petsmart I live by will do for me. I was met with a swift NO and was told by Graham that "most of our Blue Buffalo food is put out on the shelf because we sell a lot" and told in a very ill-mannered tone "I hardly believe we have any back there." Shortly before going back to work on his shelf. Wow....very classy. I was very offended to see how some employee wearing the company shirt and representing the place they work at could be so rude! I ended up leaving the store and going to the petco that I passed earlier on 278. They had the food! By the way the girl at the register in Petsmart didn't say "Goodbye" or " Have a nice night" when I left. It is in Corporate Petsmart's best interest to investigate this store as their company policy of "CUSTOMER SERVICE" is not being followed here with their bottom of the barrel employees. read more
