Brought our Bernese Mountain Dog in for a grooming. He's a good boy but doesn't like water/baths. Jacqueline was AMAZING! Super patient and loving. Typically when we go to pick him up from his usual groomers we can hear him barking to escape. He was so comfortable with Jacqueline we didn't even hear a peep until he came out and saw us. She talked with us at length at drop off to ensure the treatment was best for him and gave a very thorough report at pick up. 10 out of 10 - would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a groomer for their dog. read more

for starters. all chain pet stores need to be shut down in my opinio. this stores insects gave my bearded dragon parasites. all there reptiles are malnourished and very depressed and not kept well at all. all there fish are kept horribly. they have a mini sorority tank with female betas. it's only like 5 gallons. and they are chasing eachother and attacking eachother. they do not have the correct sorority set up whatsoever and it's very sad to see all these fish be so sad. every fish me or my friends have gotten there has been sick and needed severe work on health and to be put into a hospital tank for a while. they have a male better in the glass right across from the females to barrier so they can't see eachother no nothing. and they have ONE thing in the tank. not even rly a hide either it's just this think with threww holes to swim through. if you're gunna make a sorority it has to be at LEAST 40 gallons i'd say, and must be heavily planted and have other fish to give the females a way to "hunt" so that they aren't aggressive towards each other. in most tanks there is a lot of dead fish that will be there for days. the plants are always prett droopy and also need to be nursed to health. i hate pet stores they are just animal mills. no one should buy animals from chain stores let's boycott!! ALSO most everything they have labeled for betas is NOT OKAY for bettas like the foods they have. they do have he brand big bites which is good. everything for decorating the tanks etc are very very expensive and overpriced. amazon and walmart and morph market have much much better stuff. please dont support chain pet stores they don't deserve it. read more

I always order online and save the percent for pickup. Each time I park in the designated parking for pickup orders. I call to say I'm here and am always told to pull up to the door. Today the same thing, I park in the designated parking spot, call that I'm here, told to drive up to the door....but, cars are honking for me to move & then a man pulls along side me and starts cursing at me to get my vehicle out of the way! I tell the girl this who brings out my purchase What happened and asked her why am I always told to pull to the door. She says "Well, I don't want to get hit by a car"! I ask why the designated parking spots? She just replies "Oh, well" and slams my car door. Time to switch to Petsmart. read more

This Petco is smaller than others I've been in. That being said it is still a good one. I stopped in to buy worms for my bearded dragon. I had trouble finding them, so I asked for help and the employee dropped what she was doing to help me. She walked me all the way over to where it was and asked if there was anything else she could do. I was very happy with the customer service. Other stores could take notes from them. read more

Nice place to get your pet supplies. The employees are helpful and friendly. I like how the store is set up with the animals in the center of the store and the supplies around. That way you aren't ever too far away from peeking at the pets. You can tell they care for the animals well. I definitely recommend. read more

Not only did she call me a liar, she tried to cancel a "reimbursement" service that was given to me by the store manager!! I called them early this morning and talked to Deryll. Automatically I could hear in his voice that his customer service wasn't the best. I scheduled to get my dog groomed. He asked me what kind of dog I had and I told him I had a lab mix, which he is! So I proceeded to go there and as soon as I got there I could tell that he wasn't very friendly. But I proceeded to go with him anyway. After filling out the paper work and leaving not even 10mins later he calls me and says that my dog "attempted to bite him". My dog would not hurt a soul. What a shame that such a large chain of stores should have costs so high, I'm astounded that this doesn't price out most pet owners. Savvy shoppers probably know you can get better deals on the internet, but those who don't are really getting fleeced. Out of desperation, we went into the store and were just again completely disappointed with the dog food prices. We also wanted to purchase a chuck-it soccer ball for our labs. The Price at Petco was $29.99!!!!!!! I quickly looked up the same product on Amazon and it was $14. Less than half the price. Shame on you Petco. read more

I switched over from Petsmart to Petco when it comes to grooming my shihtzu. I think the girls are very patient and do a great job and the prices are descent. Unfortunately, I had to give 3 stars due to an employee in the grooming department. His name is Daryl. Every single time I bring my baby in for grooming he always makes a smart remark about how my dog (who is 2 years old) is always a problem. Every. Single. Time. I'm pretty sure my baby isn't the ONLY dog in Bluffton/Hilton Head who has a hard time sitting still... This last visit, I finally had enough of his remarks and I said back to him "It's a good thing you all have experience with dogs" Of course he rolled his eyes then went back to where the girls were and started laughing. He's very unprofessional and needs to keep his opinions to himself when it comes to talking about other people's dogs. But like I said, the girls are amazing... read more

They put bearded dragons and leopard geckos on calci-sand and the staff tried to inform me that this was ok. This is the worst substrate for reptiles especially these kinds. DO NOT BUY REPTILES FROM HERE THEY ARE NOT HEALTHY!!! They said they could have used repticarpet but they preferred sand because it was easier to clean. Good luck cleaning out your reptiles stomachs of sand when they all die of impaction. read more

Not a single GMO free dry dog food. The closest is the Organix brand but the protein sources may be fed GMO grains, so it's not GMO free. The manager was very helpful and understanding, even checking PetCo's online site, but nothing available through PetCo online. No wonder so many pets are getting sick. I may start making my own dog food. read more
