Wonderful place to take our dogs. The dogs couldn't wait to go for their bath. On the outside blackboard was our dog's names--- nice personal touch. The owner was from the same town that we moved here from in NJ. Nice clean coat, well groomed nails, cute kerchief on their collar along with a goodie bag of treats to go home with. The dogs also like they weren't put in cages after being cleaned. They were able to move around the gated area. The workers there are very nice. They take credit cards and allow tips on the card as well. read more

I cant give this place enough praise! I have two Maltipoo's that i take here for the last six months or so. They are 12 & 8. These are by far the BEST cuts they have had! The team at Sandy Paws are so lovely & accommodating. They take their time to understand what you want and get your pups in and out of there in a reasonable amount of time and are very fairly priced. My sister has a purebred Himalayan cat who had badly knotted fur. She wanted all the knots cut off. I'm not local, so relied on online reviews and made an appointment at Sandy Paws. In his "previous life," Pookie had been attacked and severely injured by a dog, so I was happy to hear they wait until the last doggie client leaves before taking a cat. The appointment day arrived and, as per cat protocol, Pookie was nowhere to be found! Sandy Paws managed to fit him in a couple days later. My sister was able find him and get him to the appointment. She was very happy with the results!! Not only was Sandy Paws accommodating, but they listened to what she wanted done. Best of all, Pookie didn't seem traumatized by his grooming visit! If they can work that kind of magic on a cat, I imagine they do an incredible job on dogs!! read more

Sandy Paws more like SHADY PAWS! No! No!! NO!! If I could give this business "0" starts I would ! Save yourself some frustration and book elsewhere! I recently moved back to the area and decided to give Sandy Paws a try. When we arrived Sam (her groomer) greeted us and completed a brief questionnaire. Same asked me how did I want my dog cut I explained and showed pics and she took my dog back and started working on her. My dog is a yorkie, I requested a teddy bear face with uncut ears(I like her ears to stay floppy) , shaved down to provide her comfort in the heat. Before I got to my car I went back in the building and spoke to the owner and told her that I did not want my dog ears cut , and I showed supporting pictures to further clarify. I was assured she would notify Sam and that wouldn't be an issue. The building was clean and neat , so I definitely felt my dog was in good hands. Boy was I sooo wrong! When I went to pick up my dog , I immediately knew that I did not like her face cut AT ALL! Her face was not clean cut and honestly didn't look like much was done to it and it sure didn't look like I went to a professional groomer. My dog body cut was fine but her face was botched! Most importantly my dog was given to me with one ear cut (layered) and one ear uncut . What kind of mess is that? I immediately expressed that I was not in any way satisfied with her face cut and I was definitely upset that one ear was cut and the other was not . It was so obvious I was shocked that they would even want their work showcased in this manner . Sam kept on emphasizing what could be fixed next time, but she as well as I knew there would NEVER be a next time . My dog would definitely never be going back to this "professional grooming salon" . After , I continued to voice my dissatisfaction, Sam said she would try to tidy her face up so more . That did not work, as my dog did not look any better she suggested it would grow back. Duh! But that's not the point, I shouldn't have to wait for her hair to grow back and still pay for full price for a service. That's backwards. At this point the owner steps in and says she could try to fix her face some . The owner did fix her face up better than Sam but her ears were already botched to no correction. Not once did either Sam or the owner offer an apology or seem sincere. Literally they both were looking at me like I'm crazy when its clear as day this was not what I asked for and was indeed uneven. When I expressed that I didn't think I should pay for the full service due to this, the owner offered $5 off lol. A complete JOKE! Never apologized, she could barely look me in the eyes when I brought back up how I told her (the owner ) what I wanted . She knew she was wrong and that her employee had messed up yet no accountability was taken. So now my dog is forced to wear an uneven botched face for the next couple week. I will be sure to let everyone know who my dog comes into contact with that she got cut at SHADY PAWS, that will speak for itsself. I will never recommend or patronize this business ever again . PETSMART grooming has cut my dog much much better than sandy paws. I think that says enough in itself . My biggest regret was coming here, I wish I would have missed this appointment. Please do your research guys everything that glitters isn't gold . I could careless if the salon is neat and pretty but the skills of the groomers are complete trash. Should not have to compromise either , but if I had to it sure wouldn't be the skill of the groomers. read more
