All I can say is wow! Donna is an amazing, caring, kind and compassionate groomer! Not to mention she's highly skilled. She has over 30 years of full time grooming experience ( that's a lot of years!) and I just found out she won Best of the Lowcountry! Gold medal first place for 2025 AND bronze medal award 2024! DO NOT SEND YOUR DOGS HERE! There has been a change in owners which should not be trusted. I had previously sent my dogs to evergreen where I ended up having a horrible experience. Because of that experience, I started sending them to red rover where I never once had a single issue. Staff and owner were delightful and genuinely cared about my fur babies. This new administration has lacked every ounce of empathy and it is clear they are money hungry. The atmosphere walking in now is already full of tension and feels cold. This was so unexpected and truly disheartening. Clear to say I will not be returning and please find a better place for your dogs if possible, they do not care for your animals! read more

I have always taken my Winston to a wonderful dog groomer in Bluffton but because of the Covid-19 situation I have been staying closer to home. We would HIGHLY recommend this facility for boarding your pets !! They from phone, start to finish were on top of everything, much less so very , very loving to our 6, yes 6 dogs and took EXTRA SPECIAL CARE of them, with music in their room, and aromatherapy. The location was so so extremely clean and their communication was AMAZING. They sent a ton of pictures, and kept in close contact with us and answered every question we had very thoroughly. A second week-long stay here and all was great! Our dog was well cared for and interacted well with the employees. We picked her up daily for "field trips" (as they call it), and she was always happy to be dropped back off each time. I think they also brushed out her coat a few times over the week which was very appreciated for hair that mats. They have a small selection of treats, food, and other dog cares items which is helpful if you need something in a pinch. read more

Keep Red Rover in your top three! This facility has a great, convenient location. It's clean, and for my 85-pound Lab, the room size was great. Best of all she all had a little window - great for natural light!! We worked with two staff. One staffer's approach was, hey stay as long as you need to feel comfortable. The other staffer's approach was more like, go ahead and leave quickly so as not to delay . . .the faster the better. While it seemed both really care for the pups, my preference is the former. This is a great place and we'll be back for sure. The reasons why I didn't them five 'em 5 stars: The venues hours do not align with local regulations so that I can take my dog to the beach. And also, this location is in a business area - a rather busy area, and there's only a little grass on the property: not very much if you want to play with your fido outside thier doors. We came to Hilton Head for vacation last month and stayed at the Omni. I have a 2 yr old Shih Tzu mix we rescued from the Humane Society a few months ago. He is very well behaved but has developed some separation anxiety so I was very nervous about boarding him for 3 nights. Red Rover was perfect! It's a small facility/house so not a lot of dogs or noise. Everything was clean and well-organized. He had his own little room, adorably nicknamed "Fiji". There was a bed in the room but I was also able to bring his own bed along with his favorite toy. The staff was very nice and friendly. We even received a report card about his behavior during his stay which was super comforting and helpful. I'd highly recommend if you're looking for a pet hotel for your fur baby :) read more

So glad we found Red Rover! What a GEM! Our tiny dog is our baby, and the kind folks at Red Rover took EXCELLENT care of him for a week during our stay on Hilton Head. I stopped by a couple of times to check on him, and each time I was so impressed with how well the different staff members knew him. They could tell me all about his behavior, his "friends," and his eating and sleeping habits without consulting notes. These are people who really love dogs. (And he was freshly bathed when we picked him up!) I'm so grateful to have found the perfect people to watch our little guy when we can get away to Hilton Head! read more

I brought my 10 month old floofy Bernedoodle in for a groom. She had begun to develop matting over the last few weeks, as I guess her coat was changing. She had terrible mats behind her ears, all over her chest, under her chin and on her elbows. I had tried to cut some out, so she was uneven in spots. I knew she had to be shaved down, but was hoping there was some way to keep her ears long and keep some of her beard, but I knew that was unlikely. I was so pleased with the grooming. There was not one mat in her coat when she was done, and while her body was shaved short, the groomer managed to keep her ears long and trim her beard nicely, and trim her tail but keep it floofy. So grateful to have a mat free puppy! read more

It's a great place to take your pet! We have been big fans for many years. We lost our dog a few years ago and we had no need for pet services. We recently adopted a puppy and we are back in the hunt! They took us in on short notice and did a quick and efficient job! Cooper was as happy as ever! Red Rover is an answer to prayer in my life. Paige and her staff are the best! I have big dogs, 100 pounds plus, and most kennel workers are afraid or unsure of what to do with them. One is terrified of everything, one is VERY assertive! Red Rover is SO accommodating and helpful. They handle both my dogs in different ways but to get the best bath experience, overnight experience and day care with each of them so different, is truly amazing. I do not believe they have ever turned down any of my requests and my Girls come home happy and tired from all the playtime and activity! I do not know how to show Red Rover how much I appreciate them but here goes.....if you live on HHI, use them, if your visiting HHI, use them!!!! You will be VERY pleased! read more

Wow! We travel frequently so have to board our dogs and get them groomed in new places frequently. We were really impressed with Paige and her facility. It was great that they had the same kibble that we use and that Paige also has a golden doodle, Fred, so I was comfortable that our 2 would be well taken care of. Red Rover is the best place I have ever gone for boarding! Clean, clean, clean and with a friendly professional staff conscious of every aspect of keeping my little Yorkie healthy and happy. He had his own room but plenty of playtime with new buddies and the staff is trained in reading dog body language which they explained prevents problems before they arise. Charts on dog body postures which overwhelmed me were posted on the wall in one of their large playrooms but they explained that the staff has taken an extensive course in dog behavior. We are traveling through the area and found Red Rover on Yelp. Today we took our Scottish Terrier, Wally, for a DIY bath and were extremely pleased with the facility. I also brought my pet clippers and groomed him after his bath. The staff is friendly and helpful. The tubs are cleaned after washing and we were able to use a grooming table. We had been staying on the island for a month, and it was time for my Cocker Spaniel, Cheyenne, to have a bath and a clip. I found Red Rover on Yelp. I was a bit apprehensive taking Cheyenne to an unfamiliar groomer. When I got to Red Rover, Alison, the groomer, came out to meet us. I liked that friendly approach, and felt much better about leaving my girl. Alison did a fabulous job of grooming Cheyenne! She came back beautifully clipped and silky as can be. The products they used were fantastic on Chey's coat. The clip and silkiness still look good one month later. The price that they charged seemed a bit high at first compared to what I was used to, (but I figured, it is Hilton Head). After seeing the lovely work that Alison did, and how it held up, the price was worth it. I would go back to Red Rover and Alison in a heartbeat! Thank you, Ladies! We took our 12 year old Shih Tzu, Rascal to the Red Rover while visiting the island. Being groomed is not Rascal's idea of a good time and I was concerned that going to a new groomer might be even more stressful. Not to worry! He was greeted by a couple of laid back dogs and he seemed to be at home immediately. When I picked him up he looked beautiful. He had an excellent cut and looked like a model dog, complete with stylish accessory (kerchief round his neck), Rascal wanted to stick around and showed absolutely no signs or stress. This place is wonderful. We got them to watch our dog during the times he couldn't be on the beach (10am-5pm) since our hotel wouldn't let him stay by himself in the room. This pace exceeded my expectations! It seems very small at first, but they are about to move to a bigger building. Our dog loved playing with all of the other dogs. The staff is extremely friendly also! They cut his nails with no extra charge. If you have to take your dog to doggie daycare, then this is definitely the place to go! read more
