Meredith (owner) was not only immediately responsive to my inquiry, he was able to schedule the move quickly. My mother had been in hospital, and it was clear that she could not go back to living alone in her own home (age 97!). We found a fabulous option for her, where she could have all of her own furniture. My brother insisted on moving her bedroom on his own so she could be checked out of the hospital faster. I BEGGED him to let me hire professional movers (and pay for it) and he got angry and insisted on doing it himself. So on top of moving my mother's stuff, I had to ask Meredith to now take two pieces of furniture (that my brother damaged beyond belief in his DIY move efforts) to a furniture repair location - which he happily accommodated. Jim is prompt, reliable, polite, efficient, kind, good humoured and just great to work with - AND his pricing is very reasonable.

They were very professional in their packing up and offered all kind of assistance. We arranged to get into our storage at least 3 times over the years. When we arrived, they had everything ready. We asked them to deliver some items to our daughter, and they did this without delay. When we finally cleared out our storage, they were very helpful. They provided us space to go through our storage items and advised us where to make donations and how to dispose of items for recycling. It was a pleasure dealing with this company. She was only provided with two. the two that she had were two young guys who spent more time having a conversation with each other and arguing in another language, then getting stuff done. when the truck was finally packed it had taken them almost half the time they had to get it done. the most sickening part is when they got to the new place they told my girlfriend who is a single mother with two small children that their time was done and they would have to leave her stuff in her driveway. She said absolutely not. You cannot do that when she tried to contact the manager of the company He wouldn't answer her, and he hung up on her. He was very rude. He told her it was his day off. He is not dealing with this. They can either leave her stuff there in the driveway, or he can tell them to put it in storage and she can pay for it ! this is unacceptable how dare he treat her like that! so in conclusion, this company is a joke. My son and I were in desperate need of movers at very short notice. We had moved everything…read morewe possibly could by car a couple weeks before hand because we could not find movers to do it but, we were living without our furniture and the heavier larger items that could not be moved with our tiny car. We had only 3 days to have our items out of the suite they were in before someone else was moving in. I called many movers and they could not move anything for over 3 weeks which just would not do. I called Low Budget moving and was greeted with the kindest person I had spoken to in many many weeks. I was already panicking and stressed out and he made me feel like it was not a problem and they would take care of it all. 2 days later 2 extremely kind young men showed up and in no time had us all moved. I have moved a lot in the past 25 yrs but I must say I was never so impressed as I was with these 2 young men from Low Budget movers. They were very gentle with my belongings and put them exactly where we wanted them, All the boxes were neatly and carefully stacked out of the way of where we would need to walk. They were extremely kind and considerate. If I ever have to move again I will absolutely be calling on Low Budget Movers. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Short Version: Broke tons of stuff. Quoted $800, showed up and said that it shouldn't take too…read morelong. Billed $1400. Not even remotely competent Longer Version: Talked to Curtis. He seemed great and he gave what I thought was a fair quote. We were moving a basement suite and had 40-50 boxes and few other large items (dresser, wardrobe etc.) They showed up early, seemed courteous and professional. Assessed the situation and said that everything looked good. We had everything in boxes, labelled and organized. They said 2 hours to get it out at the most. Then things went downhill...fast. The two workers started arguing that about whether they should bring another guy to help. The one said they shouldn't but eventually they asked me if they should. I let them know it was fine because I like to trust people to do a good job. They said it wouldn't be more expensive because although I have to pay for each person, they would be more efficient. Reasonable. Noon rolls around and they're still not packed. Remember they said 2 hours tops then brought in another guy to help. So, it should be way under 2 hours, but we are at 4+. I started to notice that the new guy they brought has been on his phone most of the time. Seems like he's putting out fires things for Low Budget Moving. Fair enough, but not really something I want to pay for. The other guys don't really seem to be moving boxes and working hard when I see them in my suite, but when I go up, then their just chatting and doing nothing. I think this was the chief the reason that 2 hours for 2 people became 5 hours for 3 people. That is on the cost side of things, but that's not all. When they showed up they said they would insure only solid wood furniture to be moved without damage. They didn't want to insure cheap IKEA furniture or already packed boxes. That seems fair to me. They broke 2 solid wood pieces of furniture. Replaced none and offered no compensation. One table they admitted to breaking. They just fell on it and broke it. Admitted it and did nothing. The China cabinet they refused to admit they broke but kind of in the same way that a child with chocolate on their face rufuses to admin they are responsible for the missing chocolate. They took some parts of the cabinet and said they'd look into replacing it, but then ghosted me. Lastly, they just sucked at moving. I have a hundred stories from the day but the one that illustrates it best is this. We asked them to move a wardrobe into a corner that they had placed in the middle of the room. It need to be moved about 2 meters. They were struggling to move it, crawling around on their knees, pushing it then putting it down, then and trying to figure out how to move it. Eventually after my wife and watching for a while, we just moved it. It took about 15 seconds for us (minus the few minutes of watching them struggle to do their job). We aren't strong, just healthy 30-year-olds who aren't getting paid by the hour. All in all they were just not competent at the basic task, did not actually work, and broke or damaged a lot of items. Try someone else. Literally any one.

Everything seems normal. The day of they are late. Cody calls at 930am saying they cant come and they have no team, asks if they can come the next day at 9. Sure. I do some juggling of tasks. Next day, NOTHING. No message, NO Call, No reaching out. GHOSTED. Still calling 2 days later and nothing. Left my family scrambling to find fine a last minute moving company that can show up same day. Thankfully we did but it ended up costing us probably an extra 300 to 500 dollars. Stay away DO NOT USE
