10 Chocolate Pistachio Bundt Cakes
Victoria D.

Decent burger and onion rings. Bundt cake was pretty stale. Ordered take out and it was super convenient pickup. The store was really cute and seems like it could be a good hangout spot.

Charlotte's Special.

After a Broadway show nearby, we stopped by Lovely's for a meal. First up, you order at the counter before grabbing a seat. The space is not too big with about 10 stool seats indoors and two high top tables outside. Luckily, it wasn't too busy until we left when a big party came in. I got Charlotte's Special ($9.45) with Onion Rings ($6.55) while the husband got the Double Cheeseburger ($12.65), Sidewinder Fries ($5.95), and Mexican Coke ($3.85). The food was ready quick as they handed straight from the grill to the counter. Both of the sides were hot and crispy although it needed the ketchup for some flavor. While the burgers are petite, they're satisfying and just enough with a side to pair. I liked how easy the burger was to chew as all the beef, cheese, onions and bread just melted together. Overall, solid spot for a quick meal. It's less oily than 7th Street Burger and the meal is hot and fresh as they cook it right in front of you.

Loaded Sidewinder Fries

Great burger! Extremely friendly staff. My favorite was the loaded cheesy fries. I love their potato fries that curl in a shape I've never seen. Perfectly fried. I loved the cheesy sauce and onions. The burger was good but the highlight was the fries for me.

Wait a second. So gas. We got the Single Cheeseburger, Double Cheeseburger, Patty Melt, and Onion Rings. Get the double patty over the single. The double patty tastes better. Juicy flavored patty. Best onion rings I've ever had. Somehow not too oily and flavored perfectly. A big reason for the five stars. Amazing service. Everything is cooked in front of you. Great spot to end the night.

Loaded Sidewinder Fries with charlottes sauce on the side

10/10! My boyfriend wanted a really good smash burger and this place lived up to the hype. We walked just over 20 min and loved that it was immediately giving "neighborhood hole in the wall" vibes. The guy at the register was super nice, patient and made some suggestions. We both tried a cheeseburger and shared an order of the loaded fries (cheese, sautéed onions and charlottes sauce). They had a counter inside with a few seats we sat at after ordering and got to watch the staff grill and press the fresh patties and fresh fry the fries to order. Everything was so clean, fresh prepared to order and organized. The burger was DELICIOUS. Not greasy and perfectly melted cheese with fresh toppings. The cheese fries were so tasty and just enough cheese and onions to get some in every bite. I see why it's been around so long, I definitely recommend stopping by!

just as consistent recently as the past few times I've ordered takeout! I'm pescatarian so I'm usually only able to find vegetarian sandwiches at places like this old school style tiny lil diner. And the got the one they have riiiiiight. The Mushrooben (and maybe some curly/sidewinder fries) is all you need. From the menu: PASTRAMI SPICED SHROOMS, KRAUT, CARAMELIZED ONION, DOUBLE SWISS RUSSIAN DRESSING, MARBLE RYE. It's a great portion. The sauce needs no notes. The mushrooms and onions are always perfectly caramelized, and the marble rye holds it all together well. It's one of my favorite sandwiches in the area! big fan of Charlotte's sauce for the fries. I accidentally ordered a chocolate pistachio bundt cake -- long story-- but it was a happy accident. soo fluffy and both flavors shined through. Staff is always hella friendly and work so efficiently. please add an Impossible patty as a substitute option! EDIT: recently tried the Loaded Fries (cheese, Charlotte's sauce, grilled onions). they are messsy and so good. sis loved her burger too

Patty Melt

Probably my favorite greasy smash burger spot in the city (7th street who?) Charlotte's special is amazing, but I also love their classic cheese burger and patty melt. Honestly everything is amazing. Pro tip: get the hot peppers on the side, the acidity and spice cuts through the grease and hits so hard! I also love their onion rings and chip fries. The workers here are always friendly and kind. You can also sit at the counter if you want to eat in, but you will smell like burgers after! Worth it IMO!

Cheeseburger

We needed a quick burger place before catching a show and this was perfect. We got our orders in quickly and luckily there were still some spots to sit. The area is narrow and can get crowded so I don't recommend this for groups but great place if you just need a quick and good burger. Cheeseburger 5/5 Great, solid, classic smash burger. Easily devour-able and not that messy. I would have preferred an option of cheddar cheese but it's still a good burger with good flavor.

Located on the corner of 9th avenue, the location is very convenient. The space isn't too big but it has that comfortable burger joint feel you typically look for. Walking in, the service was attentive and thoughtful. I went towards closing time and there weren't many people so things moved pretty quick. They did confuse the order a bit - giving me bacon when I didn't ask for it, but I'll take it. Overall service and concept is great but I thought the food was lacking. I got the charlotte's burger which sounded like a juicy caramelized burger but in reality it was just overly salty overly crispy overcooked beef patty with not caramelized onions and sauce that didn't taste like anything. The fries were crispy but lacked depth to them - I couldn't really get a good taste of that potato. Maybe I'll try to come order again at another time but for somewhere that was really hyped up to me I was disappointed.

Enjoying a walk in Hell's Kitchen and stumbled upon this old fashioned burger joint with delicious smash burgers and grilled hot dogs. Easy menu, great prices. The service was good. Bar stool seating. I highly recommend. My snappy dog was so delicious, smothered in caramelized onions, sauerkraut, mustard and ketchup. Felt like I was at a family bbq.

Onion Rings
Vanessa A.

Used a promo they are running through instagram - $10 for cheeseburger and fries. I also ordered onion rings since those seem to be popular. They cost about $7+ with tax. The fries and onion rings were really good. The order of fries could almost be cut in half it's so big. They are thicker cut fries. The fries and onion rings are fried perfectly; you get just the right amount of crispness. The single cheeseburger was okay. You really need a double. There was a lot of mayo on it but no ketchup, which is my preference. They weren't busy when we walked in around 4 on Saturday afternoon but soon after we started eating it got very busy with no seats available. There's about 11 bar seats.

Double cheeseburger

Burgers were amazing. While the onion rings and French fries were both great we could have shared and still had leftovers. The burger prices were in line with other diners, etc. I felt the trend fries, onion rings and drinks were over priced. There is only one counter that has 10-12 seats but I feel it really only fits 9. The staff was very friendly and very efficient.

Cheeseburger w/ onions and pickles too

I got the $10 special on the app , so you get a cheeseburger and fries... I decided to eat inside ! The burger is like a smash burger but the fries were excellent! Fresh and hot out of the fryer! The service is fast, small place limited seating . So eat fast and be gone !

Reviews are largely positive. People highlight the juicy, flavorful burgers, crispy fries and onion rings, and friendly, efficient staff. The retro diner atmosphere is also appreciated.

We were thrilled to find two seats at the end of the bar when we arrived. As luck would have it, the two gentlemen next to us eventually left, allowing us to slide over and enjoy an even better view of the TV for the rest of the game. I started with a Tito's and club soda, but unfortunately, something seemed off--perhaps the club soda was flat. The drink just wasn't good. To their credit, the bartender took it back without hesitation and was very accommodating. I then ordered a Negroni after the woman sitting next to us highly recommended it. I don't usually drink gin, but this cocktail was absolutely delicious and changed my mind. Since we were there for several hours, we shared an order of zucchini and eggplant chips and happily snacked on them throughout the game. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, with a nice mix of ages and people enjoying the evening. We made sure to leave our bartender a generous tip since we occupied our seats for the entire game. Even though the Knicks didn't pull out a win that night, we certainly didn't leave defeated. I'd happily return for another game, cocktail, and fun evening out. And maybe even get dinner there. Little did I know there was another big room in the ack once you past the restrooms. They were having a thriving business there!

Also, an obvious side note- You wonder how a place that's been open for, I believe, a year and a half has 1500 Google Reviews? It's because they give you a free soda if you write a 5-star review, so I guess if you have a palate for Polar sodas, you can give them a five on that site. If you're going to get anything, go for the tender combo, as their sliders, burgers, and buns are bad. Anyway, it's nice to find a Zabiha Halal spot that serves burgers and other American grub in this neighborhood. I used to frequent somewhat similar spots back in the Arabic neighborhood I lived near in Brooklyn, and it was nice to see this place open a while back. I have tried a handful of things here, and honestly, it's gotten worse every time. The first time, I got the tenders consisting of six pieces for $14, which is honestly very reasonable. The thinner pieces were a tad dry, as the batter had become overly fried, but it's hard to complain about the price point. They also came with a perfectly alright sauce called Mambo, which they list as spicy but is as hot as a spicy McNugget or similar with a light sweetness. The second time, I had the Slider Combo for $7.99, which came with two chicken sliders (spicy if wanted,) fries, and a Polar soda. The fries were honestly nice and better quality than those at any nearby fast-food place. The sliders were dreadful, however. They were dry with overly breaded chicken with no pickles or anything else to help, so I guess that's why it comes with a soda or water. This doesn't help the even worse bun, which was dry as well, and makes a Martin's potato roll look like a Rolls-Royce. The Polar drink was, as expected, a worse Diet Coke. The last time, and the last time I'll ever stop in here, I got the Classic Burger, which is their smash patty with American cheese, holy sauce, lettuce, tomato, and onion. This was the worst burger I've had in ages and easily the worst smashburger, with the meat somehow being dry. I guess the bun was different as it was larger, but also as the top was charred better than the burger meat. Maybe the signature burger for $4 more is better, but I'm never going to stop for it if they're careless enough to burn a burger bun. 3 stars for the chicken tenders due to the deal. 2 stars for the slider combo, as the fries were decent. 0.5 stars for the burger. 2/5

Two-part, proper settle, tight dome, no rushing it. That's rarer than it should be in Midtown where half the bars treat a stout like a lager. Whoever's behind the bar here has been trained or grew up around it. Food's better than a second-floor pub between 5th and 6th has any right to be. The JRB burger comes on a house-ground patty (they grind in-house, and you can tell, loose texture, actual seasoning), caramelized onions cooked down all the way, not just softened, good cheese pull. Fried pickles on the side had a crisp cornmeal shell and stayed crunchy under the burger juices, which never happens. Buttermilk chicken salad was the surprise. Chicken actually brined, crust stayed on, greens weren't an afterthought. Only real knock: music was loud. Not sports-bar loud, more like the bartender's playlist got away from him. Fine at the bar, harder at a table if you want to talk. Room's got real bones. Reclaimed barn wood, old rail track as a foot rest, that big 45-star flag on the wall. Been here almost 20 years and it's aged into itself. For the neighborhood the pricing's fair. Beats P.J. Clarke's on the burger, loses on quiet. Go for a beer and a burger, not a date.
