I've tried so many different nail salons in the area, and I've gotten to the point that I won't go anywhere but here. They always do such a great job! My nails tend to grow into my skin a bit at the corners, and this is the only salon I've been to that effectively resolved that. They're also extremely friendly, they know my name, and my nails always come out looking great! They also answer any questions and help me learn how to take care of my nails. read more

I had to stop service and ask for another nail tech to finish my nails. I have been coming here for years & never been spoken to with so much prejudice. There is new management; when I asked for the manager she replies," I the manager". The lady continues to badger me for showing her how short I want my nails. I sat there & waited for her to stop talking as she displayed frustration while getting red in the face. I have been coming here for the last 12 years. I'm always welcomed and asked how was my travels being that I live in Weston. I have never experienced prejudice until today in this establishment. I get it- doing nails is an art. Some nail techs are amazing and some SUCK! I don't mean to offend the lady who just did my nails but being totally honest she did a very very bad job. It was my first time trying this place. I opted for the simplest & BASIC nail extension service. An old school acrylic full set -Short, square, natural color, with just clear polish - simple enough to test and see if they do a good job before opting for all the fun options (coffin , color powder , gel, linger length etc. ) in the future. The lady in the front, Lynn, the owner i assume (she was running the register and her table was adjacent to it) was great to chat with and very sweet person but greatly lacks talent in nail extensions. Unfortunately after she was done..some of my nails are super thick, some are thin, some are lumpy some are shorter and some are longer. They are anything but square. There was left over hardened acrylic under the nail and around my finger. I've spent half hour in my car w/ a file trying to smooth out the edges & separating my skin from the acrylic nail. I don't know how u can spend an 1.5 hr & mess up so much on such short simple colorless nails. Not to mention she cut me a couple times as well. ALSO we all know nail salons try to push extra services to ring up the bill.:. Although I enjoyed her company - she was honestly EXTRA pushy. Her name is Sam , the third time I went she was busy so I agreed to have someone else do my mani and pedi . For the pedi the water was COLD , she cut me and was rough removing the gel polish . The mani was terribly performed , color was blotchy , water was cold , it took for ever to finish , nails were cut inconsistently . Second time coming to Lovely Nails in Shanendoah plaza. They are a little more pricey compared to the salon I go to (mani is $12 pedi is $22) but they do an excellent job. They have really relaxing pedicures with massage chairs and hot towel wraps. Their manicures are quick and they do a great job. You can get walk-in service or appointments. The only thing pleasant about this place is the nice old man that greets the customers (he's the reason for the one star, because this deserves no stars). Otherwise service is horrible. The lady that did my nails does a horrible job (too bad I didn't get her name but I believe she sits on table 5). When I voiced my concerns she fired back saying my nails were a sort of way and had to do them the same (never have I had this issue before). This is the second time this happens to me and only because I gave the spot another chance. I definitely, would NOT recommend this nail place to anyone. If I could give this place a zero star rating I would! I went to Susan on Tuesday for a dip and set and the by Friday almost every nail was coming off. I went back and she tried to fix it but only made it worse. Went back Saturday and Sunday and I kept getting told to come back later, they're too busy and refused to issue me a refund. I walked into lovely nails and politely signed in and waited until someone who wasn't busy acknowledged me. A couple moments later, an older woman asks me what service I want done and I respond with dip manicure. She then tells me they will take care of me but I have to wait. I respond with no problem, of course I'm a walk in, I'm reasonable. I haven't been to lovely nails in 3 years since I moved and I was in the area so I decided to revisit them and as I took a look around, many of the same employees were there which I felt like was a good sign. I take a seat and try to find the dip powder on the shelves where the nail polish is to kill time or any test colors on plastic nails. I don't see anything so I ask her if there are any dip colors I can see while I wait. Without even acknowledging me, she starts repeating to me "okay, you wait" and is waving her hands at me followed with dismay. I ask her again maybe thinking she didn't hear me and she gives me the exact response without even listening . Safe to say, I walked out after that. After reading some of the negative reviews I was hesitant about trying Lovely Nails, but since it's so close to my home, I decided to give them a try. I have now been there twice and couldn't be happier with the service. The massage chair is great; my mani and pedi look really good; everyone I spoke to understood and spoke English, and everyone was pleasant and professional....who could ask for more. The $34 charge for mani/pedi is at the low end for such services, while the quality is definitely on the high end. read more
