When I travel my inside sales guy counterpart does a LOT more work, and so does his wife because she's home with their kid when he's working late. So I went in here to pick her up something nice. They had Yankee candles, scarves, nicer clothing, flip flops and other cork-soled specialty shoes, purses, and some really lovely jewelry. I found a pair of sparkly earrings, sterling silver and locally made, for $35, which is perfect since the holidays are coming up and my inside guy said his wife likes pretty, sparkly things. The man behind the counter was very kind, offering suggestions and in general just being available without being overbearing. I will be back here soon, this is a cute shop with distinctive and elegant items at reasonable prices. Good find.

Their cards are obviously not the same as you'd find in the Hallmark stores, but you can find a pretty good selection for most events you might need. If you need a card and you're near a Cardsmart, stop in, they can fix you up.

Studio 550 is an unbelievably welcoming pottery studio! My mom and I signed up for the 10-week…read morepottery wheel class with Sue this past summer, and we walked in with absolutely no experience. We were lucky enough to have Sue as our instructor--she is incredibly talented, patient, and such an amazing teacher. Within the first hour of our very first class, she had us making our own pieces! Sue makes sure every student's questions are answered and that everyone gets the individual support they need. Her love for pottery is truly contagious, and she spends each class cheering on her students, encouraging them to try new things, and helping them reach their goals. She also took the time to look back through our finished pieces with us, talking about what we had made, what we had learned, and how much we had improved throughout the class. By the end of the 10 weeks, we had a whole collection of pots that we had thrown, trimmed, and glazed ourselves. It was so rewarding to look back at what we created and see how much we had learned and improved. I loved the class so much that I immediately signed up for another pottery wheel class with Sue! I couldn't recommend Studio 550 and Sue enough, especially for anyone who is completely new to pottery and wants to learn in a fun, supportive, and welcoming environment.
