Review of lovely bride philly: I booked an appointment for 2/1/25 to go dress shopping. While waiting for this appointment my grandmother got diagnosed with als and started declining very quickly. I ended up going somewhere else and finding a dress so she would at least be able to see me in a wedding dress. I had already paid for a deposit for the appointment and my future sister in law got engaged so I asked her if she wanted to take my appointment! I called lovely bride to see if I could just put the appointment in her name, which I was told no I would have to cancel the appointment and not be refunded and then she would be charged that fee as well. I spoke to a sales woman as well as a manager explaining the situation and understanding that I knew I was cancelling the appointment but I also was making sure someone was going to shop there. I had visited a couple bridal shop before lovely bride, and I was really hoping that lovely bride had what I was looking for, but more importantly, a great experience. Jessica was my stylist, and she was *chef's kiss*. She was confident, efficient, intentional, and read the vibes very well. Most importantly, I felt like she was invested in my journey to find my dress which I did not feel at my other shops! It wasn't just going through the motions, she really tried to find something that worked for me, and... we found it!!!!! We had another bridal shop appointment after but they were so understanding, and not even 10 min into my other appointment I couldn't stop thinking about my dress. My experience at Lovely Bride was, well...lovely! My stylist Mahdiya was absolutely wonderful. She had my dresses already pulled that I had saved beforehand on my profile. If there was a dress I wasn't sure about or completely sold on, she helped me rule them out without being pushy (which I was thankful for because it is easy to become indecisive with so many options.) I had my heart set on one dress that I hadn't even realized was available at this location. I was thrilled when I realized it was in stock and I could try it on! It was ultimately the one I picked, but the other options that Mahdiya suggested were great recommendations in line with my taste and body type. I have been drooling over a Sarah Seven gown that I saw on Instagram and I was in town for vacation. I called the week prior and made an appt. I got there and I was blown away by the service and shop. There must be over two hundred dresses there. I tried on so many Sarah Seven gowns and I wanted to live in them all, but my final choice was an instant yes when I put it on. Lyssa was so kind and helpful and really helped me narrow down what I liked vs what I loved. Rachel picked out the most perfect earrings to help me accessorize the dress. THIS. IS. THE. PLACE. After 2 other disappointing bridal shop experiences, I'm so glad the 3rd time was a charm at this charming little shop in Olde City. I'm a very non-traditional bride and I haven't spent my childhood dreaming about the wedding dress I would someday wear (i.e. I'm clueless). I am also heavily tattooed and struggling to find a dress that would accentuate my tattoos and not clash with them. At each of my other bridal appointments (first at BHLDN and then Philadelphia Bridal Company), I was very upfront about my bridal cluelessness. I really needed a little hand-holding, but left those other stores feeling pressured and rushed and no closer to understanding what dress was right for me. Lyssa, my Bridal Stylist, made me feel comfortable and welcome from the get-go. She was happy to share her expertise about what may or may not work for my figure, my body art, and my budget. She was easygoing and fun to work with- and she kept things moving! I was able to try on about 6 or 7 dresses in the same 1-hour appt time that somehow only afforded me 3-4 try-ons at the other shops. I went to 9 different wedding dress stores and tried on around 40 dresses and the best was here at Lovely. They were able to keep within my budget too. Although they don't have a tailor on site, they provided a list of suggested tailors, which is a nice way of allowing options while still ensuring quality. I had the perfect experience wedding dress shopping at Lovely. The first great thing was that I had a private space to try on dresses-- no bustle or interaction with other groups, so it felt very special. The vibe was upbeat but calm, so I could think and talk through the dresses with my mom. The real MVP, though, was Taylor, our amazing and very professional stylist. She helped me get in and out of the gowns and pinned them so I could see how they would look with tailoring. We didn't feel rushed at all- Taylor was very adept at knowing what I should try on next as we narrowed down the list. It can be challenging to know what works before you're actually trying on gowns, and I ended up loving something different from what I originally envisioned. We were able to cross a bunch of options off my list right away when I tried on a dress in that style and knew it wasn't for me. This efficiency meant we had time to try on my top two favorites again, with veils, and time to take videos so I had something to refer to when trying to decide later. I didn't feel any pressure to commit, but at the same time the staff were very clear about pricing and timelines, and gave me a list of tailors-- they let me know to call right away, and the seamstress confirmed that she was booking up quickly, and she was really glad I had taken their advice to call ASAP. So, if you're looking for a really professional, calm, warm group of women to help you find your ideal wedding gown, I really couldn't recommend Lovely more highly. This is how the experience should be! If I could change one thing about my dress shopping day, I would have stopped shopping after my visit to Lovely, and had a nice brunch instead of going to look anywhere else. read more

This was my second appointment and I was deeply disappointed in both the service and the sample size selection. I booked an appointment here on the recommendation for of my SIL, who has a much smaller frame. I am a size 22, and was somewhat suspect, but I loved their selection so much that I made an appointment. Lovely Bride advertises itself as size inclusive, but they do not carry many size 20, 22 or 24 dresses in this store. I gave my stylist my street size before the appointment, and was clear which dresses I wanted to try on. My stylist tried to squeeze me into dresses that were two or three sizes too small, instead of using clips. It made for an uncomfortable and unpleasant shopping experience. I did ultimately purchase a dress here but only after I double and tripled checked the size my stylist was ordering. I would not recommend this store for anyone over a size 16. There are other places you can take your business that will make you feel beautiful. read more

I had such a wonderful experience with Lovely Philly from start to finish. I first reached out to Lovely because I was hoping they would be carrying a very, very new Watters gown that hadn't been released yet. As it turns out, the official release date was cutting it too close to my wedding date to get me the dress in time. Enter: Ivy. She was so helpful, patient, and kind - and was somehow able to get a sample dress on loan from the designer for me to try on and subsequently order?! Above and beyond doesn't begin to cover it. Fast forward to my appointment to try on the gown - I was lucky enough to work with Hannah, who was an absolute delight. She had wonderful energy, and was so helpful. She answered every single question of mine, took photos for me, and encouraged me to FaceTime my people, as I had come to my appointment solo. She was truly a gift and the type of person you hope will be helping you when making such a big, emotional decision. BEST experience & shop, I want to do it again! Hannah was my coordinator for my appointment and she could not have been any better! She had my 3 top picks lined up and I tried on maybe about 10 dresses total. I ended up selecting my 2nd dress. Hannah was so great with my mom, future MIL, and sister - she had no problem redirecting decisions to me, which I SO appreciated. I also didn't feel any pressure to pay for the veil yet, she did write down the name/cost/designer of the one I liked in case I would like to order it down the line. In the past couple of months I have been to Lovely Bride four times (I've been back to see accessories and to bring my mother and sister in to see the dress I purchased as they both live out of town). On my first visit I was taken care of by Ivy and on subsequent visits I have had the pleasure of working with Taylor. Lovely Bride was my very first stop and my one regret is not realizing that it could and should have been my last stop on the dress shopping train. When initiating dress shopping, I had no idea what I was looking for but knew that I wasn't interested in traditional bridal dresses. I left my first appointment loving the Belmont Dress but I knew it wasn't 100% what I was looking for. I came back to Lovely after some pretty horrendous visits to other bridal salons for a Sara Seven trunk show and fell in LOVE with a dress that will be mine in a few weeks! The service and care at Lovely Bride is unmatched. Despite being indecisive and needing quite a few appointments (plus facetiming in my mother who lives oversees), Taylor was patient, supportive and a true delight to work with! If you come across a/any reviews here talking about the staff here having a lack of personality, I'd like to reframe that as staff who are exceptionally professional. My stylist Mahdiya was such a delight! Working with her felt like I was getting styled by a friend. She was so knowledgeable and explained things about each garment as we tried them on. I felt like I learned so much about the pieces, as well as the ordering process itself. I should also note that Lovely was the only store I went to where the stylist helped me into my gown instead of leaving me in the dressing room to figure out the garment for myself. Went on a Saturday for my sisters first ever dress shopping appointment. We were highly disappointed. Found lovely bride through a blog on the best Philadelphia bridal shops - but they must have a totally different experience than us. First of all, their selection of dresses is less than wonderful. But mostly, they asked my sister for her budget and she said it was "flexible". They restricted her to under a certain amount. Wouldn't even let her look or try on a dress they thought was out of her budget. Then, they don't let you actually look. They take the bride for a few minutes to get a general idea and then pick dresses based on that. Well a) they picked horrible dresses that weren't what she wanted, we'd try and describle other things, and they'd bring even worse options and b) when you first try on dresses you don't know what you like and what you don't so you need to try on a bunch of styles - they were too narrow minded in their selection. Finally, in going to other places, you can tell when the sales person helping you knows a lot about gowns and can help direct you. They also (when they are good) can help read the vibe. At lovely bride, the sales girl we had came off just like she wanted to sell a dress. She didn't seem to have much knowledge of bridal gowns, designers, etc. It was an ok shop but a really lackluster first dress shopping experience for my sister. We won't be going back. read more

I went to two Lovely Bride boutiques, including Philly, as wells as 3 other bridal shops. I definitely had the best experience at Lovely Philly. My consultant was Lizzy and she helped me pick out styles I liked and had already pulled some of my favorites from when I made my appointment. She also helped me get in and out of the dresses which was a huge help. The dress that ended up being my favorite was a dress that Lizzy pulled after learning my style and likes and dislikes - she knew what I liked more than me! Since I had a few other appointments after, but had a front runner, Lizzy wrote down the style and price of my dress and took my measurements so we could call back and order. I ended up going with the dress that Lizzy pulled for me and am so in love with it. Lovely had such an amazing selection of dresses and the experience there was exceptional. The Lovely Bride was the only store I visited to find my wedding dress. They made everything so easy! Before my appointment, I picked out a few dresses online, and they were ready for me to try on when I got to the store. Covid protocols like washing my hands when I arrived, a limited number of guests, and wearing masks made me feel super safe. They even offered a Zoom so that my faraway relatives could partake. My lovely stylist was Anyah. Due to COVID, when entering I was asked to wash my hands and was led to the bathroom by the shop owner. All stylists had on masks and gloves and in order to enter the shop, a mask was required and only 1 guest allowed. My guest and I appreciated how professional and serious they were taking the COVID safety requirements as it made us feel safe and comfortable! Within my one hour appointment with Anyah, I was able to try on all the dresses from my Lovely Bride Wishlist and 2 wild cards pulled by Anyah. I ended up having a top 3 and leaving without a dress but with time to sleep on it before making a final decision! This was such a plus considering other bridal shops I've been to which only allowed me to try 3-5 dresses during my one-hour appointment and then pressured me into making a decision as I was getting dressed. Once I left, I immediately sent my top 3 choices to my ladies in my Bride Tribe group chat, they fell in love with all 3! But I didn't feel by myself because all of the women who work there are so fun and complimenting. Even though I had a wonderful dedicated attendant, several other girls at the store came in to join in on my experience. Unlike my previous dress shopping experience in NYC at a different store, my girl at lovely completely understood my vision and pulled out several figure flattering styles that matched my vision and price point. This is was critical to success as I came from out of town and had a crew with me so I had to find the one! Although I loved every dress I tried on, I feel hard for the Rue De Seine poppy stardust and we all knew it was the one. I think my favorite time was trying on accessories by myself ( ps- GO there for accessories). I had so much fun with the attendants as it was right after the royal wedding and was really feeling a tiara but boho. They had the perfect boho tiara for me as well as a second halo option I loved. I said YES to my dress here last week and it was an awesome experience! I called to make a same day 5pm (weekday) appointment after failing to find a wedding dress after 4 store visits (which included a large bridal store in Baltimore, one in Ardmore, and Pronovias and Romona Keveza flagships in NYC) in recent weeks. I'm not really known to be a picky person so when I failed to find "the" dress after multiple attempts I felt defeated. I had heard great things about Lovely Bride, but hesitated to make an appointment because for some reason I thought I wouldn't find enough options here given it's advertised to be more boutique like. The night before the appointment I was browsing on Lovely Bride's website and clicked on the designer Limor Rosen's link, and ended up falling in love w/ her collection. I called the following day and luckily was given a same day appointment time. Julie who helped me throughout the hour long appointment was very helpful and sweet. She listened to me, looked at my Pinterest dress photos to get a sense of what I liked and I didn't like, grabbed dresses that I would gravitate towards, and didn't get offended when I said..."ehhh, let's not waste our time" when I didn't want to try on certain ones. The entire experience felt very intimate, personal, and low-pressure. I tried on multiple designers' dresses here, ultimately choosing a Limor Rosen one. The dresses were literally dirty, I didn't get to browse the selection and I was only given the dresses my stylist (who has only worked there since november) picked out. It was my first bridal experience. My friends and mother were so horrified they didn't off water. We immediately went to BHLDN to browse after our really disappointing experience and didn't even have an appt, and they offered us water and champagne the moment we arrived! I had a lot of first time nerves but Jess made me feel at ease and not pressured to have a definitive opinion on every dress. My family loved the experience and had nothing but nice things to say after. We had 7 people total in our appointment and they all fit in our room! Jess also put me in a fit & flare, something I would have never chosen for myself but ended up loving. All the dresses were gorgeous, there is a wide selection. So I came to Philadelphia to wedding dress shop with my mom. I had been to another location of Lovely bride so sort of knew what expect when it came to shopping. I believe my consultant was Rachel. She and everyone else were so great at this location! I didn't feel rushed or crowded like the other lovely location. Rachel listened to what I wanted/my vision and absolutely nailed it. She picked dresses that I hadn't seen or considered before. I ultimately ended up buying one of Rachel's picks. They even let me go a little over my time to put some accessories on with my top pick. Wow. Where do I begin? Lets start at the top. I booked my appointment online & they let you choose different time slots & each time is allocated to one of their fitting rooms & how many people I can bring. 1:00 Suite 2 (+3 people) 1:00 Suite 4 (+2 people) 2:00 Suit 1 (+2 people) It looked something like that. You choose your time & you choose your suite based on availability and maybe how many people you are bringing. So basically from the beginning the feeling is (you better not be bringing too many of your friends). Which I was only bring my MOH so whatever. I chose my time at 7PM on Wednesday night. Then the confirmation of my appointment arrived via email and reminds me that I ONLY GET ONE HOUR in the shop and it urged me "to arrive early or on time so that you get the most out of your 1 hour." This is the shortest bridal appointment I have had so far, most places say appointments are 75 minutes or 90 minutes but they also prefaced it with (if you go longer thats no problem!) Lovely's vibe was "you get one hour & one hour only because then we will kick you out", So I arrived early, 10 minutes early. I buzzed the buzzer with my MOH & we were greeted by a frantic stylist who ushered us in & told us to wait & that she would be right with us. So far no problem, we were early, so we would sit on couch. Cool. At 7PM she came back and apologized that they werent running on time and that we need to wait on the couch still. Now I know they have several "suites" as I booked online and I could have chosen one of several 7PM appointments for other rooms. So i assumed my suite wasnt the one running on time. But when the other bride finally left at 7:20 (when we were allowed to start our appointment) I saw that another stylist had been helping them, so why couldnt my stylist help me at the same time and put me in a different suite? There were at least two stylists there and I think 3 or more different suites and only one other bride. I did the math. Now lets back track for a moment to where we were still waiting in the front room. I got a little antsy at about 7:10 & walked back into the salon to just start peeking through the racks. As my MOH & I approached the first rack the girl (her name is Aleza) stepped out of the office & asked to please wait in the front room. I asked her if I could start looking at the dresses & she didnt say "no", she said "I will go through the dresses with you when the appointment starts". So I asked, "can I look at them now anyways to just start to get ideas?" (BTW there was no one in the show room but us the other bride was back in the dressing room) & she said no because she wanted the other bride to have space & not feel crowded by my MOH & I. So back we sit for another 10 minutes. Then at 7:20 my appointment starts. Aleza asks me the feel of my wedding & my budget, which I tell her is $1500-$3000. She takes me to the racks & starts to point out some dresses. She is pointing out things that are not what I described to her that I liked but she goes rack by rack with me & I try to start to look at things on my own and she is very disapproving & tells me that she wants to take me through every rack first, once we get through all the racks I now have "permission" to look through the dresses. My MOH & I start looking & when my MOH found something she thought I would like she tried to take it off the rack (keeping it on the hanger mind you) & show it to me, the stylist scolded her & told her not to take anything off the rack. As I started to find dresses I wanted to try on, she also told me not to take them off the rack myself, but she also wasn't taking them off either to go & hang them in dressing room, after selecting around 4 dresses & her not moving from her spot I said, "are you going to pull these for me?" she said, "I will pull them once you are finished selecting them" I replied, "wow you can remember them all exactly?" & she said snootily, "yes, I have been working here a long time, I know the dresses really well." As I go around the room I make it to the last rack of dresses & point one out that I want to try on & she says "that one is out of your price range", she reminded me throughout the process which were out of my price range. The dresses have price tags on them, I see the price. If I ask to try it on, let me try it on. ANYWAYS, we get to the fitting room, I am NOT a modest person, I dont mind if another girl sees me naked. But I had been to 4 other appointments before arriving at Lovely & all the stylists gave me the option of modesty, letting me step into the dresses myself & then they would come in & zip me up etc. She stood in the room the whole time & didnt let me touch any part of the dress. I have never felt more judged or vulnerable while being naked in front of a person. This was a full on bad experience from beginning to end. I worked with Sarah and Lissa at Lovely Bride over two appointments, and I couldn't have been happier with the experience! At the time I visited Lovely Bride, I had already been to 3 other boutiques and I knew what I wanted to try on. They pulled my 3 selections along with a few other knockouts. I was comfortable in their beautiful space, and I didn't feel like they were pushy and sales-y. I came back for my second appointment today and knew it was THE one! Cute store. Pretty dresses. My staff help was Fine but sounded like she had been asking the same questions and a little disinterested . After trying on dresses I was convinced wedding dresses weren't my thing. After going to another high end bridal salon this one seemed subpar since I (the owner) found so many dresses that looked nice and staff that genuinely loved what they did. This is not a bad salon and may be a great fit for someone else, but once I got royal treatment for the same amount I couldn't go back! read more

After looking at several salons with friends/family and not being able to find one that felt "right", I finally decided to go here on my own to pick out a dress for my wedding. Overall, I really enjoyed shopping here- Who wouldn't, trying on such gorgeous dresses?? I related my style and overall feel to the consultant, who found a handful dresses in my price range to try on. Unfortunately, they carry very few dresses under $2,000, and most of them were pretty bare-bones. I was disappointed that I was not able to browse on my own, but the consultant had great judgment. I did not feel any pressure to buy, but I ended up finally finding one that I loved. Pros: Beautiful dresses and knowledgeable staff Cons: Lack of variety in the lower-tier dresses, not allowed to browse on your own. read more
