Extremely Unprofessional…read more I walked into Uptown Cheapskate and within one minute of entering, some random lady suddenly yelled across the store: "Everyone get out, we fucking close in 5 minutes." At first we assumed she was an employee because of how aggressively she said it. When we realized she wasn't, we called her out on it. Her response? "Yeah, I'm kind of crazy." What made the situation worse was that the actual employees said nothing about her behavior. No one corrected her, asked her to stop, or even acknowledged how inappropriate it was. On top of that, no staff member informed us when we walked in that the store was closing in 5 minutes even though it was over a hour before the website said they closed, which would have avoided the entire situation. Overall it felt chaotic, unprofessional, and uncomfortable. Customers shouldn't be yelled at by random people in the store while staff just stand there and do nothing. Definitely not a great first impression.

They even allowed us to buy the open stock for the blind boxes and were happy to try to find the packaging in the back. Though the store IS small, it's a lot easier to find the hard-to-find or popular items. My kids recently wanted a series that came out several months ago and they still had a few boxes here whereas every other store is sold out. They're super enthusiastic about checking the back for you if there's something you want that's not out. We've been to the larger locations, such as Tustin, but the greater foot traffic also means things get sold out a lot quicker.

I was almost out of breath from excitement. I spent a solid hour just circling the store, completely unable to decide what to buy. In the end, I walked out with some face masks, an ornament, and a few snacks for myself (obviously). The shop is literally right next to Trader Joe's, so I know I'll be visiting this plaza a lot more often. There's also Daiso, 99 Ranch, and the ever-popular Marugame Udon all in the same plaza. I'm so psyched--can't wait for my next visit!
