TLDR: The place for crepes whether savory or sweet. Locally owned, lovely atmosphere, ideal lighting, pleasant music, friendly employee, and gluten-free! Okay this is my new favorite crepe place. Plus it's a locally owned restaurant! The crepes are incredible and make quickly. Perfect texture and flavor. The ingredients are cooked appropriately and the crepes are large. Plus they are presented well and are gluten-free. I chose the Le Champignon crepe with English breakfast tea my first visit and the same crepe with Earl Grey Tea my second visit. It's so good I haven't been able to choose a different crepe haha. Even the tea was presented well and steeped perfectly. So many places are serving hot tea in disposable cups even when dining in. It was such a joy and relief to enjoy the tea in a nice cup and saucer with the pot close by. The cafe is empty around 8 am and picks up around 8:30 am. They play low jazz or pop music and have ample tables that seat 2 or 4 customers. The wi-fi information is posted near the condiments, water dispenser, and trash. It took about 10 minutes for an employee to realize I was there. She was friendly and efficient. I believe she is the only one working (during both visits) so some indication that customers are ready to order would be useful to save time. She interacts well with customers and takes orders and makes the food. Overall, I had a great visit and recommend this cafe to others! read more

This is a cute little Crepe restaurant! Honestly the prices will surprise you and that is definitely the biggest negative because everything is expensive. I was hesitant ordering the crepe because of that but luckily the crepe ended up being massive. That definitely made up for the price. The savory egg sausage crepe was by far my favorite. My wife very much liked the sweet chocolate crepe. Other than the Crepes I was disappointed with how much the sides and coffee cost for what we got. Also the staff seemed very rushed and aggressive for a tip. That is the main thing stopping this from a five star. If I were to go back it would definitely be for the Crepe! read more

The crepes were outrageously expensive for what they gave. ONE crepe SMALL crepe is 18$. Yes 18$. As in 18 dollars. False advertising for the strawberry and 'cream' crepe. It's just 1-2 strawberry's very thinly sliced and some jam no cream filling of Any sort the crème is whip cream. A little bit on top that's it... also the hazelnut crepe is just Nutella..... with not even a quarter of a banana and strawberry. The food The good was gluten free and there are many non dairy and a few vegan options. They use teff instead of wheat which, if you are not familiar, is from Ethiopia and is a miracle grain. It's nutritious, gluten-free and grows quickly with less water than many crops. It is used to make traditional Ethiopian flatbread called injera. What a great idea to use this grain for crepes - savory and sweet. While I am not gluten-free, those who are must appreciate this aspect, a lot! The service I would like to give grace in my review for all categories. There was an unfortunate family emergency and the menu was limited and they were understaffed for a few hours, only. I hope that everything has worked out for the best for the owners and their family - I will return in a few weeks. Ambiance It's an adorable cafe in brand new building in the now growing down town of Holly Springs. It is bright and has exposed ceiling and industrial-style lights. Unfortunately I need to update my rating once again. The last four times I've visited they have been out of pretty staple menu offerings. My sister and I met for lunch specifically to get the salmon crepe (my fave savory crepe on the menu) only to find they were out of salmon. Bummer. They were later out of salmon (again) and sausage. The last two times I was there they were out of oat milk. The first time, I was eating there and was offered an almond milk latte instead. The foam was completely solid and weird. I scooped it out and drank what remained and then was sick to my stomach the rest of the day. Fast forward a month and I placed a takeout order - waffle and latte. When I arrived to pick it up they had not even started making it even though no customers were waiting on food. Then, the person making the coffee held up an empty oat milk carton announcing they were out of oat milk. WHAT?!?!? Who is in charge of buying for this operation and why can't they get themselves together?! I canceled the entire order and have zero plans to give this place a 50th chance. Very disappointing because this could be a really amazing place. I've been a number one fan recommending them again and again. And it's so nearby. I ordered and paid with the cashier, took a number and found a place to sit. Once your order is complete, it is brought over to you by an employee. The food was very tasty and I only realized that it was a gluten free only restaurant because it said so on the window that I was eating at. Other than that, I would have had no idea. 100% gluten free ! Food is great. Had the chicken sausage crepe and the one with honey. Both were really good. I don't eat a lot of fru-fru food so I was alittle skeptical going in (the wife has a gluten allergy) but the food was a very pleasant surprise. Kinda place you walk up to a counter, order off a menu hanging down then they bring the food to you. Mine had appropriate mass so I was happy after. Coffee's we're good - she had a oat milk latte with something and whatnot which she enjoyed quite a bit. I had a black "drip" coffee which I also enjoyed. Lovegrass Kitchen is now open in Downtown Holly Springs. This place is serving up sweet and savory crepes, liege waffles, salads, açaí bowls and drinks. My husband and I split the le chèvre crepe and dark chocolate strawberry crepe. They were out of a lot of ingredients since we visited later in the day. Both of the crepes were so good but for the price I would expect a little bit more filling. I'll have to try this spot again earlier in the day because I really want to try the honey lavender lemonade. read more

This business is SLOW. The employees don't know answers about ingredients. They are not accommodating toward dairy allergies which is one of the easiest ones to use alternate ingredients for. Seems they would be knowledgable and accommodating toward allergies since they are gluten free. read more

This place was taking orders and not fulfilling them. We were willing to be patient and wait... But after waiting for over 70 minutes!!, we did what others were doing and asked for a full refund. To make matters worse one party who came after us with larger orders were being served essentially because they complained louder after waiting only 10 minutes. I've visited a few times and the liege waffles are amazing! They are different than normal waffles in that they are made using Belgian Pearl sugar which creates a caramelized outside. I like they use organic ingredients and it's 100% gluten free. There are also wonderful smoothie, crepes, and coffee options. It can be a bit tricky to locate, it's a little hidden down some Stairs. Needless to say, the service needs to be improved. It was also pretty empty, so it wasn't slow due to a rush of people. The food wasn't bad, but they did mess up 1 of the 2 crepes. The food that we ended up ordering was just fine. Also didn't love that (a) the wait for our food was long, (b) the utensils my friend received were dirty, and (c) the size of the water cups was enough for about 2 sips. read more

Ordered online for pickup. I arrived at the time it was to be ready and was told it would be 20 minutes. I waited for 30 minutes as the staff walked by me twenty times without ever following up. I go to the counter to ask about my order and I'm told it will be ready in 15 minutes. They finally hand me my food almost an hour after the said ready time. We get home and find they left out the smoked turkey on our salad. So I call and no one answers. I leave a message with my number and asking for a refund. Truly outstanding crepes and coffee! I get so excited on days I have to find a remote place to work and I have an excuse to go there and get my favorite mushroom crepe - it is to die for - and an oat milk americano - delicious. They have savory and sweet crepes - all outstanding. Sweet family-run business, sweet people, great atmosphere. I was excited when I found this place in the area, I enjoy and frequent many of the other restaurants there, but was pretty underwhelmed during my visit. The food and drinks we had were all okay. The crepes were pretty good, but our specialty drinks could've been better. I was pretty turned off by the service and environment. The employees were polite enough, but we were there around 9 on a Thursday when they'd opened at 8, and it seemed like no one bothered to clean up last night or prepare to open this morning. The self-service station for beverages was basically empty, with a water carafe that was sitting with the last bit of water from the night before; it was room temp so I won't even give them the benefit of assuming it'd been emptied in a busy early morning rush. Some of the tables (right in front of the register) were also dirty, visibly sticky, and the cooler at the front was almost empty with just a few things in it, but had visible crumbs and dust. No shade on an empty cooler, supply issues are real, but being dirty and disorganized is on the staff. You could at least wipe it down and move things forward to be presentable. I would be way more understanding if they'd been busy, but the front of house staff were literally sitting down chatting behind the counter in between the few customers that they had instead of maintaining their service area. The icing on the cake was the Christian music playing over the speakers. Not to dismiss or disrespect anyone's beliefs, but it's incredibly alienating to customers who don't share them. Honestly, even if I'd enjoyed the food and service, I'd never come back based on that alone. I'm someone who works remotely and enjoys working from local coffee shops, but I couldn't possibly sit in an unkept dining room listening to religious propaganda for any period of time. I don't understand why the business owner would put the burden on their customers to ignore it or align with their religious beliefs instead of just creating a welcoming environment for anyone who's willing to pay to enjoy a crepe and a coffee. The dining room is very cute, and I appreciate their trying to bring that type of cuisine to the area. It's clear someone had great intentions for the space, but that person probably needs to come down and defend their business because today they really missed the mark. read more
