I wish I would've listen to the bad reviews. This place is horrible. They did a horrible job with my dog. The actual hair cut is the worst I've ever seen. They didn't shower her like they said they did (she was still covered in hair), and they were suppose to cut her nails, but only cut the extremely long ones. All of her hair is choppy. Please do not take your dogs here. I have so much to say but I don't know where to start. :( This is a small groomer that is tucked away on a side street. It is not a clean establishment at all and it smells of pee, but it is so cheap so many people look past that. My grandma took my dog here once and had good really things to say about the visit, so I decided to give them a try myself. I have taken my dog here around 3 times and I noticed after the last two times, my dog came home acting REALLY weird. Let me start off by saying I have a very fun and energetic little dog who loves playing and loves people but when he visited this place, his whole demeanor changed. The first time I took him here, he was kind of nervous as expected but was not too bad. I picked him up and he was normal. The second time, he was a little more nervous than the last time. When I picked him up, he was acting different and he would not really make eye contact or look at me. He didn't want to play, eat, or even cuddle with me for a few hours. He would just put his head down and sleep. I thought that he was just not in the mood (since he seemed to like it before) and I gave him his space for the rest of the day. However, the third time I took him, he was definitely NOT having it. I pulled up and he refused to leave the car. I dropped him off and he immediately started running back into my arms crying. Again, I thought that he was just having a bad day so I finally handed him over and left. When I came back to pick him up, he looked absolutely out of it and dazed. I grabbed him and left as soon as possible. Again, he would not look at me, eat, go on a walk, or play but this time it lasted for the next few days. I cried my eyes out because I felt like a bad dog mom for not trusting him when he tried to run back to me. Although he did not look "sick", It got to the point where I wanted to take him to the vet to see if there was anything going on with him. His behavior was not normal at all and nothing like I've ever seen before in the 10 years that I had him. I decided to see if he was acting weird because of something that had happened there or if it was something else. Once he was in a better mood, I took him for a ride and we drove past it slowly. As soon as he saw the shop, he ducked into the seat real quick and started whimpering loudly. I drove past it again and he freaked out once more. I decided to go in and ask if anything had happened to him while he was getting his hair cut. I was curious to know if he had gotten cut on accident or if he had an incident with another dog there that scared him. I just wanted to make sure he was ok. The owner ended up going on a incoherent tangent about how the government had spies on her and that they were preying on her business from afar. She started telling me that she could speak to dogs and my dog said that he was fine. When I told her that he looked a little scared the last time I picked him up, she began to scream at me saying that she spoke to my dog and he said I was a "liar". She then started saying how she has treasures hidden all over her shop and ended by saying that my dog said he hated me. My mouth literally dropped and I was speechless. I was not expecting any of that???? At this point, I came to the conclusion that this lady was definitely unfit to be dealing with anyone's pet. I know it sounds like I am making all of this up but please believe me. I tried everything in my power to give this place a chance and support a small business, but I just couldn't. I have taken my dog to multiple groomers since then and he was always in a great mood and feeling happy when he came back home. We cannot even drive past here anymore because he has serious PTSD. I have NO idea what is happening here or what she did to my dog but I will never recommend this place to anyone ever again. Please reconsider. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! We walked in with our dog to the facility. Upon entering, the strong smell of urine and feces was present. Cats were walking around, the floors and walls were filthy. The stench of pee and feces did not go away, and we could tell it had been smelling like this for a long time (not just a dog accident). When we asked to see where our dog would be bathed, the woman (groomer/owner) would not allow us to see where pets are cleaned. We left immediately. There are possible code violations occurring here (I think people live there as well). Please, for the sake of your pets safety (and yours too), do not go here. read more

I love this place. The owner is so kind and you can tell that she truly loves animals. I've taken my dogs to other places that are more "known" and each time they've come home very sad, but when I picked them up from her they were so happy! Ecstatic! And loved coming back. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The owner is extremely rude and uncaring. First off, we arrived 10 minutes early and she kept complaining that we were too early. I offered to come back in 10 minutes and she said, "forget it, just sit down." I was taken aback by her curtness and patiently waited while she brushed cats fur off of a dirty faux grass mat that was placed on top of the counter. Since her prices were the cheapest in town i decided to overlook her disregard for cleanliness in her facility. I have a 4 month old Cavanese who has a lot of fluffy hair and this was his first time at a groomer. I'm not familiar with dog haircuts and thought the owner would at least give me some feedback or suggestions as how to go about deciding on a cut for my dog. However, she just kept repeatedly saying that all owners already know exactly what they want and when I showed her pictures from my phone she just said I can't guarantee it will look like that until I cut his hair. I said that's fine I'm not picky, and she repeatedly kept saying I can't say it will look like that you should already know exactly what you want. It was as if she wanted to discourage us from getting his haircut. Then she became fixated on telling us about a customer who came in and was offended by her asking if the dog was a yorkie bc his last haircut was so bad she couldn't tell what kind of dog it was. Then she said he walked out offended and told us we could leave if we weren't sure of what haircut to give our dog. I said, "no it's ok I'm not picky. I just want him to look cute and have a good trim." Then she brought up the fact that we were early yet again and said I wasn't expecting you so early I would have tied up the other dogs. Then I said, it's ok can you just make sure they don't bite him bc my dog is very docile and he doesn't bark. Then she said look lady you can walk out and I won't be offended. That was the last straw! I said, "you know what this is way too complicated and you're difficult to communicate with we'll just leave." What a strange experience! I've never met a person so adamant that she would not do a good job, couldn't ensure the safety of my dog, and just plain rude! I would rather pay an extra $10 to take my dog to a place where customer service, friendliness, and cleanliness is a priority. Shame on this place. What a disgrace calling this place "love dogs world"! The owner's attitude nor service is reflective of its store name. read more

I found out about this place from my grandparents. The lady that works here is super sweet and very talkative. She is not rude as other reviews have said, she just likes to make jokes & some people do not seem to get her sense of humor. She also tends to tell you things instead of ask, but while it may sound final, it is not; that is just how she talks. She will always do exactly what you ask & let you know if your wishes may be hard to fulfill (ie the hair is too matted to keep long). Her place is not sterile clean like PetCo, but that is because the dogs are not kept in cages. My dog is always very happy when I pick him up and personally, that is what matters to me. (It's also not my house so what do I care if the place is not clean? I just want a clean dog, which is what I get!) She is very flexible so if you are a last minute person like me, it comes in very handy. She started her day early just to accommodate my lack of planning. On a side note, if you are looking for a show-perfect cut (like some of the reviewers) this is not the place. But then again, you only get that precision at expensive places. My dog looked exactly how I wanted him to look and wasn't patchy at all. :) read more

We just moved to Riverside and read reviews about dog groomers in our area and chose Love's based on the great reviews and cheaper pricing. I really liked the idea of our dogs not being caged up the entire time they were there. I was a little apprehensive when we arrived as the house/shop wreaked of dog urine. But Lonnie was so nice and welcoming we decided to leave our dogs with her. We have 2 yorkie mixes and she assured us she knew how to cut them accordingly. We asked for a bath, brush, ears, anal glands, and pads be cleaned and a "Teddy Bear" cut. It is very common to request this for Yorkie's that arent show dogs in OC and in SD, where we have lived in the past. We were happy that it only took her a couple hours for both dogs (other groomers have kept our 2 for at least 5 hours). But we were not exactly happy with the result. She clearly did not know how to cut our dogs. They smelled great and we were very nice and paid appropriatly. But I just wont go back with our little ones. The cut was very choppy and not even, she also shaved their faces and gave them little mustaches (not a teddy bear we requested). and left their pads and feet long. She was very nice and I wish her well, just not the right cut for our dogs. read more

I don't even want to give one star...I took my dog for grooming today, I was trying to find another place bcz the other groomer I used closed their shop and I didn't even know. I was able to get a same day appt but now I know why. I am so disappointed that I paid and left a generous tip for a crap job. I was in a hurry had to pick up my dog fast and get back home and it wasn't until I got home that I was able to check out the hair cut...but not only that, my dog didn't even smell clean...what the hex..how are people giving this lady 5 stars?? My lil dogs fur was just hacked..and uneven. She is a yorkie and the groomer recommended a teddy bear cut which I know and agreed to but my dog does not look like a teddy bear, she looks horrible and now I have to wait for her to grow out cuz I don't want to mess up her fur anymore and I don't want to go spend more money to correct the mess she made ....u can literally see the unevenness....I always try to be considerate and take care of my groomers but I cannot believe this lady had the nerve to take my tip let alone make me pay at all....Just so tired of people being so wrong in the world...sheesh read more

Lannie does a great job and my dogs love her. My one dog has had a very hard time with groomers and had to always be muzzled. He is very old and gets scared. But he really likes Lannie and she told me she talks to him when she cuts him and he just loves her. He is the best! And for the reviewer below, who cares if she can't do a "teddy bear cut," she is patient and loving to the dogs and that is what is most important. I previously took our malti poo to dog groomer located in Moreno Valley, a very nice private home, but my dog always seemed traumatized when I picked him up and would lay around for the rest of the day... very unusual.... Love's Dog is not the fancy dog groomer, and I hesitated to leave my dog there the first time, but I thought I will give her a chance... He was totally normal when I picked him up! I asked my son to drop my Shi Tzu off at the groomer and I would pick her up later (I have a regular groomer). He took her to Loves (being in a hurry teenager), because it was on his way. Now while I do agree that the lady was sweet as pie, I was absolutely beside myself when I first seen the condition of the premises then the odor was overwhelming. He asked for a brush and bath, very basic clean up. My dog had very long hair....when she was dropped off...and had been shaved and not even a clean shave. Very clear strips of uneven hair 3" long....everywhere. When the lady seen my reaction, she said, "maybe I should have called you". Um Yes, yes you should have. The only reason in the world I still paid for this hot mess I got back, was in fact, because the lady was sweet. Took her to the regular groomer to fix her. I would not recommend grooming services at this place at all unless the dog has no hair. read more
