Another box o' goodness
Theron H.

After trying a fair assortment more of their flavors, I thought to update my little review. They made a huge impression with their P.O.G. but that was simply the one flavor I had. I've been at their little stall two more times during this year and both have resulted in the same high-quality macarons that are as beautiful as they are delicious. I mean, who wants a plain red macaron when you can have a psychedelic grey-and-white swirl one dusted with bits of edible gold. Or how about one in the shape of Luke Skywalker or Yoda or a cute ice cream cone. No matter the flavor you get, the macaron's cookie shells are equally delicate, airy, and crunchy with a small bit of chewiness - sure signs of well-and-proper made ones. As for the fillings, all have the typical sweetened/flavored sweet buttercream dealio, but they go above with the inclusion of curds, jams, bits of cereal, caramel, black sesame seeds, etc. All to achieve the maximum amount of flavor and that "Mmm"-factor. Here's a breakdown of a few of the various flavors I've had. P.O.G. (passion fruit, orange, guava): a dangerous blend that takes you to Hawaii with its citrusy flavor profile of orange boosted by tart passion fruit ending with guava's sweetness. Lemon Lavender: Subtle lavender with sweet cream that's complimented by a drop of lip-puckering lemon curd. Raspberry Rose: A hint of rose in the undercurrent of flavors with raspberry saying hello for a quick tart second. Sea Salt Caramel: lovely buttery salted caramel. Lemon poppyseed: the ultimate lemon experience with tart lemon curd, sweet lemon-flavored cream, and the natural lemonyness of poppy seeds. Everything but..: a funky but great mix of toasted sesame, buttercream, and a salted something else that brings a mouthwatering moment. Horchata: that sweet cinnamon-y cream that reminds me of milk taking on that Cinnamon Toast Crunch goodness. Safe to say: everything is just fantastic. No flavor has been disappointing. Even the more subtle flavors pack more flavor than some of the high-end macarons I've had. And while I may be repeating myself from the prior review, the points are just as valid. This tiny stall packs a ton of flavor. Just note: get there early! Maybe even as they open. I mean it. Like. They sell out of at least one flavor an hour after they open and the rest follow suit. Trust me. I've been a person that buys the last one of a specific flavor much to the vocalized disappointment of the people behind me. The fabulous 5 stays of course and I look forward to the next visit!

I will admit that I can not understand the macaron craze. I've tried macarons at every place I've been able to get them, primarily because they're fun to photograph, but also to see if maybe... just maybe I will finally understand why people are so crazy for these things. On a whim, I decided to go to Coffee Spot to try Love and Macarons because they'd previously only been available through private orders or through the Midtown Farmer's Market. After being thoroughly photographed, I took a bite of the salted caramel and fell in love. I saw macaron angels and they were shooting cookie arrows straight to my stomach... I mean heart. I've never had that reaction to a macaron before. I thought maybe it was a fluke, but had the same reaction to her tiramisu one also. Drove back the next day for more and I've been happily addicted ever since. Personal fave is the salted caramel, then tiramisu, and cookies & cream. I need to try her new butterbeer, churro and caramelized banana flavors.

Dropped by to pick up six different flavors while out at the Midtown Farmers Market. I stepped back and checked myself after I didn't even say 'Hi' to the young lady who was looking at me ready to help. Honestly, I was so mesmerized at how the macaroons were beautifully displayed, and amazed at all the wonderful combinations of flavors offered. I immediately apologized, and asked how she was doing. The young lady was super sweet and gracious, said 'hi' back to me, and continued to be wonderful. I picked out six. My kiddos couldn't wait to try one each, right away. These macaroons were so yummy! Glad we dropped by!

OMG YUM! This has got to be the best macaron I have EVER tasted. I only picked up one at the little EG fair because I'm usually underwealmed, but not this time. The flavor and freshness was amazing. I will definitely be picking up more and look forward to checking out your new flavors. Customer service was very nice too. You got yourself a new loyal customer:)

Love & Macarons is probably one of the most well-known self-made macaron shops in Elk Grove! It's run by a sweet mom with the help of her husband. They're some of the nicest people you'll ever meet! She doesn't do custom orders but occasionally she'll have ready made boxes for sale. She posts on Instagram when she's ready to start selling, and you just have to send over an email with your name and number of boxes you'd like. She sells out in minutes, so you have to be ready! More recently she's been selling her famous macarons at the Midtown Farmers Market and in front of Dutch Bros. She also does the macarons for the macaron ice cream sandwiches at The Parlor Ice Cream. Lines will get long at these places too so make sure you get there EARLY! As far as the flavors go, I haven't had one that I didn't like. Even if I seem iffy about a flavor, I order it anyway and it's actually really good. More importantly, her flavors are on point! If the label says peach green tea lemonade, you're going to taste peach green tea lemonade. I don't know how she does it! My definite favorites would probably be the sea salt caramel, cookie butter, caramelized banana, s'mores, cookies and cream, ferrero, red velvet.... okay let's just say I like them all... Follow her on Instagram @loveandmacarons to see her latest flavors and her next location! You won't regret it.

I stumbled upon Love & Macarons on Instagram and started following Tiffany's account. Previously, if you wanted a box of macarons you would have to wait for a posting and then email her to reserve a box. The boxes sold out within minutes of the posting. I was constantly on Instagram trying not to miss the small window of opportunity. Only once was I able to score a box this way. It was like winning the lotto when I finally managed to snag a box. I'm glad she now sells her macarons at the Midtown Farmer's Market every so often on Saturdays. I wake up early and make the drive just to get my hands on some macarons. They are $2 for one, $11 for a half dozen, or $22 for a dozen. I'm always excited to see what flavors she comes up with and a bit obsessed with trying all of them. My favorite so far would be the salted caramel, but I never had a bad one. As hard as it may be, I try not to eat the macarons all at once and savor every bite. I have yet to try her macarons that are used for the ice cream sandwiches at The Parlor, but I will get my hands on one someday!

Such a cute display!

The only place I will ever get macarons from!! Ever since macarons/macaroons started gaining popularity, I was never a fan of them. It just didn't taste that good and I didn't understand the hype. Fast forward a couple years until about 4 months ago when I had my first macaron from Love & Macarons; I completely fell IN LOVE with their macarons. Such a great little treat to have at the end of the day. Every flavor I have tried from them is amazing; you can't go wrong! They are not overly sweet either, which I really like. They're at the Midtown Farmer's Market every other Saturday starting at 8 AM. They open up a pre-order form the Wednesday before where you can claim your macarons and pick it up at the market. However, if you missed this window of opportunity (because trust, it's not open for very long), then MAKE SURE you get to the market EARLY to make sure you get the flavors you want because they go FAST. My favorites are churro with dolce de leche filling, lemon poppyseed, and french toast. She sometimes makes really interesting flavors that you wouldn't think of yourself, like the Honeydew Avocado Jalapeno. This one is definitely more of a "savory" sweet flavor; very light sweetness and you get the creaminess of the avocado and a hint of jalapeno. If you're able to get your hands on these before they sell out, BUY A BUNCH!! They can last in the freezer for up to 3 months, so you can freeze the ones you won't eat right away and have them here and there as a "treat-yourself-treat". Love love love these macarons and I will continue to indulge in them!

Everything I tried out was fantastic and beautiful! My friend loved it as well. We tried the fun characters and classics. Anytime I'm at the midtown farmer markets, love and macarons is a must stop by! Can't wait to try the different fun and unique flavors in the future! Tiffany is wonderful!

This is my fav macaron lady! Before I use to go to Elizabeth ginger one but when I found her (L&M) first selling from her home & now expanding to farmers market n other ventures I'm So happy that everyone gets to enjoyed them like I have. I've taken many of my "dates" to the farmers market on Saturday to go to their booth to purchase macs from Tiffany (L&M). Her characters macs are my fav. My Absolutely fav one is when she makes the Keroppi character! All the flavors are yummy! My fav is creme brûlée. It's def made w love!

Saw the reviews and thought, why not!? Realized I missed out on a previous Farmer's market and then checked and saw she was going to be at the next one before the holidays and I knew then that I just had to get my hands on some! Well, farmer's market was cancelled, but she still had her goodies available for purchase to pick-up and I love, love, how we were able to work out a time for pick-up due to both our schedules, moreso mine. Pick-up was a breeze and everything else was as well. I don't know the order of flavors or which was what, but I do know know that I'll most definitely be ordering again soon! Everything was deliciously delicious, though some were a bit too sweet for my taste buds, but it all worked out just perfectly with a tart drink. I can't wait for the next batch!!! Thank you for a wonderfully delicious treat before the holiday!

I bought them as a gift so I only got to try a salt and caramel macaron and let me tell you it was amazing. The macarons are packaged so nicely and Tiffany even included an extra macaron, vanilla bean. Would definitely buy from here again.

Went to Midtown Farmer's market and got Iced Chai Tea and then these macarons. They sold out fast!

Ask the Community - Love & Macarons

Are you at the farmer market tomorrow?

Hi there. We are scheduled to be at the market on December 13. We post our market dates on our IG (@loveandmacarons). Thank you.

Hello, make red velvet flavors? And how much they cost ? Thank you

Hi there. We do make red velvet & we charge $2/classic macaron at the farmers market. Unfortunately we will not be making that flavor this week though as we rotate our flavors each time.

I dont have photos of what I got for valentines day but remmeber them being ok but nothing mind-blowing Maybe its just the DOCO one that sucks but I went to give them another chance the day before mother's day and sorely regretted it. I got the matcha croissant ive been hearing about, the new blueberry cream croissant and the mango passionfruit entremet. The Croissants were a huge flop. Blueberry had barely enough filling inside-the cream itself was tasty but croissant was rough in texture and not flaky. Matcha was a bit more flaky and had more filling-I wouldn't say GENEROUS amount as some have said but maybe I just got a bad one. The cream was too subtle -it was more like vanilla with a hint of matcha. The entremet was the only one that didnt suck-it was delicious but again I wouldn't say anywhere in Sacramento has wowed me yet with their entremets compared to places in the bay except for the ones that ginger Elizabeth has had in the past-the flavor itself was on point, i will say the texture of the entremets have a majority layer of the jelly part-if they could perfect the variety of layers you're supposed to get in each bite I would be more impressed as thats the whole point of enjoying an entremet. Honestly I should have just gotten one pastry to try in one day as they are pricey-i paid 31 not including the tip fot my pastries, and in this economy one cannot waste that much on disappointing sweet treats lol

I've been coming to Estelle's Bakery & Patisserie for years since I used to live only a block away,…read moreso it became one of my favorite places to walk to for tea and desserts. I've since moved out of state, but during my last visit in January this year, the treats and drinks were just as delicious as I remembered. This was always one of my favorite spots to spend a few hours catching up with girlfriends over tea and pastries. The ambience is lovely and gives off fancy tea party vibes, making it perfect for casual conversations, book discussions, or just relaxing with something sweet. My personal favorites are the rose macaron and the mont blanc desserts. If I'm feeling hungry, I usually order the ratatouille, and the vanilla bean French toast is amazing when I want something sweet but filling. Matcha is always my go-to drink here too (though it's on the sweet side, so I don't think it's ceremonial grade). I remember my first visit; It was when I stopped by later in the day looking for a birthday cake for my son's 8th birthday about five years ago. I ended up choosing their chocolate mousse cake on a whim since it was one of the cakes they still had on display, and it turned out to be a good decision. My son loved it, but it was too chocolatey for me so he ended up having most of the cake. Still one of the memories I remember most from here. It was something I kept in mind that if I wanted more options and variety, I should arrive earlier in the day. There are a few downsides that keep this from being a full 5 stars for me though. The parking lot is very small and street parking can be difficult, especially during busy hours. The place gets crowded very easily, which is why I usually preferred walking there when I lived nearby. There's often a guard stationed at the front kindly holding the door open, though I imagine that's also due to the neighborhood. Pricing is definitely on the expensive side, but honestly that's fairly expected with a patisserie. My biggest issue is that service can noticeably decline when they're overwhelmed. Depending on when you visit, the line can get absurdly long (almost out the front door), and I've experienced slower service and even had my drink mixed up with another customer's order once. Since I order oat milk due to lactose intolerance, getting the order correct is pretty important. Thankfully, when the bakery isn't overly busy and adequately staffed, the employees are attentive, friendly, and very helpful with the ordering process if you have questions. It is still one of the Sacramento bakeries I miss after moving away. It was so lovely to have a bakery down the street from home.
