1 Star - Worst Vendor We Worked With Love and Cake was three hours late on our wedding day and didn't even offer an apology. Their delay made us miss a huge part of our wedding memories. This company showed zero responsibility, zero professionalism, and zero care for what their actions cost us. I have several companies myself and asked for a refund so she can attest try and make it right. Sarah the owner said she would and two weeks went by and I let her know I still have not received a refund and her reply was " Thanks for letting me know! Calling whatever now!" My family and friends were all so disappointed in Sarah's service. I'm so happy in choosing Love and Cake for my grandmother's 80th birthday celebration. It's been years since I've ordered a custom cake so I had to start anew in finding a reliable baker. I requested quotes from at least 5 different bakeries in the southeast valley. My mom and I decided on Love and Cake because of the price and raving reviews. We were a bit nervous about selecting a home baker but Love and Cake provided the most affordable price at $215 for an estimate of 25 people. My grandma wanted a carrot cake and we were a little worried that not all our guests would enjoy but it turned out phenomenal! Even our 3 young picky eaters were asking for another slice. The cake was so moist and flavorful, we only had maybe 1/5 of the cake left at the end of the party and everyone wanted a portion to go! My only suggestion is that she reach out prior to pickup to confirm the pickup location and how to access her community. I don't usually leave reviews, but after my experience, I felt compelled to share. I ordered a custom Louis Vuitton-themed cake from Love and Cake by Sarah for my mother's surprise birthday party. Based on Sarah's positive reviews and photos of her previous work on her website, I was confident the cake would turn out beautifully, but unfortunately, I am a little late on seeing all the bad reviews on google reviews, and of her arguing with the customers not showing any remorse for her mistakes and to see she's been unethical and unprofessional for years and my experience was disappointing and I would think she would have changed her business approach to making better professional decisions when it comes to customers by correcting the mistakes and showing care. I sent Sarah reference photos for the design, assuming she would use the traditional brown and gold Louis Vuitton color scheme. However, the cake I received was cream-colored with small gold accents far from what I expected but thought it's fine long as the LV around the sides of the cake is brown. Worse, part of the Louis Vuitton print on more than half the side was purple. When I called her immediately after pickup and still parked in-front of her home, she admitted that her edible printer ran out of ink but she didn't inform me beforehand. Instead, she suggested I angle the brown side of the cake for my mom to see, which she did the same to me before pick up sent picture of the cake angled to see the brown LV and I found unprofessional and deceptive. At the party, I noticed more issues: 1. My mother's name was cut off due to a lack of space. 2. The calendar design I requested had the 29th and 30th only half-printed. 3. The white edges of the printed Louis Vuitton design were visible making it obvious that it's printed. For a cake that cost $165 and was meant to feed 6-8 people, I expected much better attention to detail and professionalism. While Sarah did offer a full refund if I returned the cake, I couldn't go without a cake for my mother's special day, which was in a few hours. She also offered to make a cake for my daughter's birthday to make up for the mistakes. I haven't gotten a response from the my email I sent to her over 2 weeks now. In the end, while the cake had potential, the execution fell short, and I'm disappointed with the lack of transparency and honesty. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision. read more

When we cut into the cake, it was vanilla instead of chocolate! When I told her about my complaint, she essentially said she was learned not to be nice cuz she took my order in short notice and that I should be happy I got a cake even though it wasn't perfect. I when I first ordered my cake i was super excited! All i saw were the great reviews. I didn't think to look at the bad ones because of all of the great ones! She was excited to make my cake as well and told me she could improve on the images I sent her. I asked that the two characters that were a part of my theme were on there, flowers, and butterflies. On April 22 I messaged her and asked that my cake please be ready from 11-12 because my party started at 1pm. My event wasn't until May 14. When it was the day of the event my mom and sister called me extremely upset to tell me that i had to finish setting up my party for 50 people, while 34 weeks pregnant alone because they had to wait for the cake to be finished since she told them it wasn't ready when they got there. She never once communicated this information to me and they also arrived at her house at 12. When the cake was finally finished and given to my mother and sister the images were pealing off of the cake and there was a dowel hole in the top of the cake. When I messaged her about the hole she messaged me back saying "I think it is silly quite honestly to quibble over the joke hole." I have never purchased a cake completely covered in fondant with a hole in it and i was upset about it. The cake also had zero butterflies on it like I had asked. The cake immediately caved in and completely fell apart when cutting into it as if it never had a chance to cool before it was put together. I also have never purchased a cake that couldn't hold its shape with warm whipped cream inside and other contents inside that were obviously warm. I never once messaged her about the problems i had with the cake and her being late at pick up. Later that day my Father called to let her know how disappointed he was with her services after spending $325. Now I did not know he had called. She then proceeded to blow up my messages out of nowhere about how my "significant other" called to complain whom she assumed called. It was in fact my father who again had also paid for the cake. She continued to send me paragraphs about how great her flavors were, and how she was late because something was damaged, and how the hole was silly and the cake was gorgeous in her eyes. At this point my boyfriend and i were trying to enjoy our gifts and the people around us for our baby coming soon. She still continued to harass me about her opinions on something she made instead of trying to listen to the customer. I had to block her account so that I could enjoy the only day i had to celebrate my new baby. I have never had anyone so rude and unprofessional make my cakes before. I would never recommend love and cakes. If I could give zero stars I would. There was no reason for her messaging me about someone else's complaint or phone call when i again had nothing to do with it, nor was i the one who saw or contacted her that day. After creating my review on my Facebook without tagging her, she then found my account and commented. By doing so she was once again harassing me when she specifically asked in my messages that we post our reviews. She also went through her one star Google reviews and commented on everyone that gave her 1 star as their opinion of her and her services, and told them they were lying, bullying, and harassing her. read more

Sarah from Love and Cake made us the perfect wedding cake! We got engaged at a special carving of our initials that we made in a tree 8 years ago, and we knew we wanted to find someone who could incorporate this into a cake for our wedding. We did a lot of searching online, but so many of the cakes we found that were meant to look like tree carvings were so fake looking. Sarah made our vision a reality! Her attention to detail and the way she was able to make our cake look like a real tree was unlike any other vendor we could find. Other cake vendors didn't even come close to being comparable to Sarah's cakes. Her cakes truly look like works of art. Not only was our cake perfect, but Sarah was also very friendly and easy to work with. She invited us to attend a tasting of 12 different flavors of her cakes. We were able to pick what flavors we wanted for each tier of our 4-tier cake. It was so difficult to choose only 4 flavors because all her cakes tasted amazing. She also provided us champagne to enjoy during our tasting, which was very thoughtful! Sarah also went above and beyond by helping navigate through some extra booking requirements that our venue needed from our vendors, and she truly was so great to work with! She also drove 2+ hours to deliver our cake to our venue just outside of Sedona, which was so appreciated! Most importantly, our cake was delicious. Since we wanted a large/tall cake to portray our tree carving, the cake we purchased was meant to serve 120 guests, but we only had 80 guests. We figured we'd be bringing a lot of leftover cake home after the wedding, but the entire cake was eaten! It was so good that many guests were going back for a second slice! It is rare to find a cake that tastes as good as it looks, and Sarah exceeded our expectations. THANK YOU Love and Cake! My experience with Love and Cake was not a pleasant experience. I spent $425 on a cake for my son's co-ed wedding shower that was ordered 3 weeks in advance that was not done as I asked. Photos were sent to her to show what I wanted and conversations were had about specific details and they were not completed correctly. She text me when j was en route to pick up claiming she needed a bit more time due to the details of the cake. In the meantime, other cakes weee being picked up and her assistant was loading several sheet cakes into the car for delivery. I waited in my car in front of her house for 75 minutes before she came rushing out with my cake. I was late to my own son's event that I was to help set up for. I felt like an idiot and was embarrassed. I feel that my cake didn't get it the detail attention it deserved and that she over booked herself. I work long hours, my money and time are important to me and there's no justification for these errors. If she's too busy to give each cake her best, I feel she should cut back her workload.
