If you are into cars, this museum is a MUST SEE. (See Mike J.'s review on this as well.) The entrance fee is reasonable at only 12 Euro per person. The building is new, the grounds are gorgeously landscaped and maintained. There are lockers to store your coats for a small fee. Parking is underneath the museum and is only a couple of Euro. The tour starts on the 3rd floor and winds down through the building in chronological order. While there are dozens and dozens of incredible cars, both all-original and restored, what is amazing is that everything you see is the collection of ONE man. If there was something out there that had anything remotely to do with automobiles, this man collected it. In addition to the cars, many of which are displayed in period-appropriate dioramas, there is extensive artwork from F. Gordon Crosby, auto-related advertising from the last 100 years, toys, bikes, motorcycles, bronze statuary, matchbox cars, info on dirigibles, lighters, flasks, baby carriages, clothing, fire trucks, police cars, Indy cars, vehicle accessories of every type imaginable, and cars from famous people (such as Elvis), movies (such as the Godfather), and races (Le Mans). There is a full restaurant with wait service at the end of the tour. There is a gift shop but unlike most tourist attractions, you are not force-guided to walk through it and the offerings in the shop are not typical either. No t-shirts, no mountain of plastic, Chinese-made junk branded with the Louwman Museum on it. There are some magnets and keychains, but mostly books about cars and models of cars. This museum is top notch. read more
