Eggs Benedict
Yula K.

I don't want to say this place has the best breakfast on the island, but it might be one of them! Came for a late night amaretto sour one night and then promptly returned the next morning after taking a sneak peek at their menu. I'm glad we did because both dishes belonged in the Louvre The eggs Benedict had a generous amount of ham and bacon on a sweet massa sovada bread. Topped with the fluffiest eggs you've ever seen and slices of avocado that were fresh even by California standards. The fried chicken though was somehow even better. Thick, crispy, and incredibly juicy and paired with a surprise strip of cured ham. The waffle was more of a massa English muffin, which put a plain old waffle to shame. This restaurant mostly caters to tourists, and I'd let them trap me any time!

Risotto with beef.

Food and service were amazing. Seafood and beef were on point. Small menu but each dish was prepared with care and amazing flavor. Wine and beer were also excellent. Will definitely come here again.

Pornstar martini!

Cauliflower Salad

I had a reservation on a Tuesday evening in March. Service was extremely attentive, with both the owner and manager also checking in with me. The food was amazing! I started with a fresh passionfruit lemonade mocktail and the Cauliflower Salad, which was an exquisite sensation of textures and taste...the portion is enough for a main dish, but I followed up with the Red Wine Braised Beef Risotto which was a hug on a plate--comfort food at it's highest level! I asked for the owner's dessert recommendation and was served the Caramelo Salgado; it was a perfect combination of salty and sweet. I was unable to finish any of the dishes, as the portions are generous! The staff and management did their best to accommodate walk-in diners, but space is limited, so if you'd like to guarantee your seat at this fantastic spot, it's best to book ahead!

Best place we ate at in Ponta Delgada. Service was very pleasant even though they were really busy. A good variety of dishes and a very nice place to enjoy a meal.

Delicious food in this trendy and cool restaurant such as Arroz Malandrinho do Mar or the Seafood Rice Casserole, Croquettes de Morcela Mostrada D'Ananas or Black Pudding Croquettes with Pineapple Mostarda. I shared this meal with my husband on our first day in Azores! We were delighted to have found it. Such a lovely decor and ambiance. We ended our wonderful meal with their notable chocolate cake and it was well prepared. Not too sweet with bold chocolate flavor. The service was good but they seem overwhelmed by the popularity of the restaurant.

The service is superb here! I visited twice on my visit to Sao Miguel. The first time, I had this beautiful brunch that included one of the best roibos teas I've ever had. And this chicken and waffle type meal that was kiss ya mama! Today, I tried an entree of mine and my server's making: A salad with the chicken from the chicken brunch item, side of fries. I did that because I had to get dessert this time. I was too full on my first visit here. Fries were crispy and thick. I'm not sure how they did that, but they did. This will definitely be one of those places I visit when I return to Sao Miguel

Amazing coffee and deserts!! A must do while in port. Note: they open at 11am but the kitchen doesn't open until noon.

Iced Tea. A Roobios that tastes like a spiced Indian Iced Tea

Cool little spot we decided to try to get away from bad Hotel breakfast. Menu is eclectic and you should be able to find something for everyone. I had Eggs Benedict and my wife got a Croque Monsieur with a fried egg. (They don't offer a Croque Madam, so you can get the egg added) A very strange thing, I asked for a side of berries. Waitress returned to ask if I wanted the berries ON the Benedict? I, of course, said no, on the side. She informed me that additions had to be part of the dish and they could not give me berries on the side. So freakin weird. So, I got no berries. I was excited to see iced tea on the menu but a tiny bit disappointed when it came and was a Roobios blend. It was good and reminded me of a spiced Indian tea, but I was hoping for just regular tea. Still, I would get it again in a pinch. Place isn't perfect, hours of diffrrent service (breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner) are a bit all over the place and confusing, but food was solud and it's definitely worty your time!

Seafood rice special

My first night in town and I was recommended to have dinner here by asking a friendly group who had been in Ponta Delgada all week - where should I eat? They said "Louvre" you won't be disappointed. And that's absolutely true! Not only is the atmosphere inside this cozy restaurant very hip, but also the food I had was so delicious - that I came back the very next night to repeat the meal! I had a don julio blanco tequila cocktail, and a Seafood Rice Special that made me first think it was similar to a seafood paella, but it was LOADED with over a dozen small clams, shrimp, octopus, and a solid piece of white fish on top. Friendly young staff, attentive, smiling, and helpful. If I was in town for a 3rd night I probably would have eaten here again for a third time in a row! I highly recommend. Maybe I'll come for brunch before leaving the island!

We loved the Louvre Michaelense so much we went back for a 2nd time this trip. Everything was so delicious, I highly recommend the eggs Benedict and the chicken pancakes! Service was top tier and we had the same server both visits and she remembered us as well. This will definitely be a staple when we visit again.

Great place to relax, have conversations and take in the city. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable.

Yummy fried chicken w/fried egg, bacon & pancakes.

Was welcomed w/a glass of sparkling wine for my birthday. Waitstaff was attentive. Ordered the fried chicken pancakes which came w/bacon & a fried egg. Chicken was moist, crunchy & tender. Pancakes dark, but light & fluffy. Also ordered the avocado toast (ok, but not spectacular) & a quiche which came w/a salad.

However, my friend and I happened to pass by the factory when we were on our way to another destination, so we decided to stop in to see the factory. The factory itself isn't that big (takes about a few seconds to see the whole thing). Because we saw the ladies wrapping the freshly made queijadas, we decided to order some coffee and try the queijadas there. The difference in the texture and taste of the freshly made queijadas vs the one I bought at the cafe (also from this factory) was HUGE! The freshly made one tasted delicious! Highly recommend coming here to try this Portuguese pastry with some coffee! You won't regret it!

These little dense egg yolk cakes are a yummy sweet breakfast and a specialty of the island that all visitors need to try. The queijadas were delicious and we came back another day for more and to buy a box to bring home (sold in souvenir boxes of 6 or 12). This place may be cash only, not completely sure. When we were there at 9am when they first opened we were able to watch the staff wrapping all the individual queijadas. There was also a big bus of tourists that was dropped off right at 9am and they flooded in the small place to all buy pastries, so keep that in mind when planning your stop here - not sure if this is something that happens every morning. You order everything at the counter and there are a few tables inside and some tables out on the patio as well. When I went back it was around 2 pm and there were only a few other people there.

We ordered the prosciutto sandwich and roasted vegetable omelette with goat cheese, both of which were incredibly fresh tasting and bursting with flavor. While both items were fantastic, what stood out to me was the delicious bread which was pillowy soft, chewy and was the perfect vehicle to soak up the farm fresh egg yolks on the sandwich and to pair with the goat cheese and herbal elements of the omelette. We also got a glass of orange, carrot and ginger juice which was freshly whipped up with the Zumex-style citrus juicer located inside the shop. To finish off our hearty breakfast, I got an almond and ginger tart to go that was simply amazing! The crust had just the right amount of crunch and the almond slices paired beautifully with the subtle ginger notes of the pastry~ 5/5 yumminess Both outdoor and indoor seating is available, but we opted for the latter to avoid the cigarette smoke from passersby plus you get the added bonus of watching their chef cook through the big glass window to their kitchen! The owner is an interesting chatty gentleman with very strong political views (the shop is decked out in Bitcoin propaganda) and he told us they maintain a strictly 2-person operation to ensure that the food is prepared up to their meticulous standards. Overall despite the higher-than-average prices, you cant go wrong with INTZ48 for a deliciously satisfying and filling brunch with very high quality and farm-to-fork ingredients. Sao Miguel is known worldwide for its fantastic bread and cheese and this is a great place to sample those together!

If you want a more open and less hush-hush atmosphere, inside is an option, where it's more social and artsy. The food is outstanding. My friend got the octopus and she said it was the best she's ever had. I wish I got what she got! Another friend got the risotto (vegetarian option) and she loved that. I got the ceviche because I wasn't that hungry, but I thought it was delicious and better than any ceviche I had in Peru. It's a small portion, but it's just an appetizer. We finished with chocolate ice cream covered with peanuts, always a winner! The service was good. The manager checked on us and made sure everything was fine.
