It was more of "sorry you feel that way" and to vehemently defend himself. Sorry, taking that tone is never a successful strategy and not how to build and sustain lasting business or any kind of lasting relationship. I consider myself a reasonable, understanding and forgiving person and don't like to give out negative reviews. I have even changed ratings from 3 stars to 5 stars because the owners kept their pride in check and stood behind their guarantee of 100% customer satisfaction. I bought a very old house and he took took my creepy unfinished basement and turned it in to a masterpiece. I loved working with his company so much that plan to ask him to redo my kitchen in the summer. Highly recommend.

This review is just for the initial process, I have no idea of the quality of the work that they…read moredo, it could be terrific but I will never know. Reached out to them as my wife and I are interested in remodeling both of our bathrooms and had received several recommendations so I was interesting in talking with them. Since I had already done demo on the guest, I had a framework of a layout for the guest and master baths and shared that with Glickman. Doug and Tim (I think was his name?) met with my wife and I, looked over the space, talked with us, gave us their approach, how this would work, etc. Tim presented some potential alternatives that were interesting but that would greatly increase the scope of the remodel. Both gentlemen were very professional and polite but the conversation circled back to budget several times and the numbers that they were referencing were quite a bit higher than the range that we were thinking, which at time, I thought, 'ok, I am completely off the mark?'. After some discussion with my wife, we decided that we wanted to make a slight change to the master bathroom layout so I sent Doug the updated drawing for the framework that we were thinking. This was on a Monday. Fast forward to the following Wednesday (9 days later), I finally hear back from Doug saying that Glickman will have to pass as: "We don't think you would be happy with how this would look" "We don't want you to have buyer's remorse" "You wouldn't be happy with a smaller tub" It's every business' right to pass on work, I have no problems with that but it's the manner in which this was communicated by telling me how I would feel. If you are THAT worried about how I would feel, perhaps propose some alternatives? Especially since I repeatedly stated that it was a design framework and I didn't know if it would even work? Or perhaps just say "We don't think we can give you what you are looking for". Also, with regards to the budget numbers, I've now spoken to 6 different remodelers, the numbers that Glickman were throwing out are still 30% higher than the next highest number. And these other remodelers are reputable design/build establishments. It's possible that the numbers I'm getting are deceiving so will have to see how it all pans out. If Glickman is focused on higher end, higher budget work, then that's perfectly ok but make that clear at the start.

I am so looking forward to engaging this firm soon for a large second story design build renovation…read moreor total makeover. Sometimes quality speaks for itself and there are those that post negatively without merit as in the post before me. As a small business owner, we're often faced with making decisions with limited resources. I understand Mr. Glickman's reply and can respect it. The sad fact is that according to you (Anne M.) with 7 firms already quoting why spend so much energy slandering this one single firm; unless it comes with an agenda. Hmmm? From the sounds of things you already have more than plenty of contractors tied up in spoiling you with quotes but no work. Says more about you than Glickman Design as one to three quotes is the norm but seven. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!! :( As the owner of a small firm, I can understand why this gentleman didn't want to waste his time. I wouldn't waste mine either. I have a very large project that I would like to get underway soon and the only firm in sight for us....Is Glickman Design Build as their work literally speaks for itself!

Both projects were a painless process, mostly stress free due to FGS's open and clear communication. FGS will always be our go-to contractor - they're not the cheapest, but the quality of their work cannot be beat, and again, their ability to communicate any problems in a clear way puts them a mile above any other contractor we've worked with. They anticipate all the questions you'll have and keep you informed every step of the way. Highly highly recommend them to everyone!

Having had less-than-great experiences with contractors in the past, we were especially appreciative that FGS proved to be a true exception. Every aspect of the job was handled professionally and with careful attention to detail. Fredy, our initial contact, listened thoughtfully to our needs, developed a clear plan of action, and guided us through decisions as unexpected issues arose. Tammy, in the office, served as our main point of contact and patiently answered our many questions before, during, and after the project. She truly "held our hand" throughout the process in a friendly, reassuring way. A special shout-out goes to Luis, who did the actual work. There seemed to be nothing he couldn't do, and everything he touched--from plumbing and tile to drywall repair and electrical--was completed with exceptional craftsmanship. He also offered practical, experience-based suggestions along the way. We genuinely enjoyed working with him each day and were consistently impressed by his perfectionism, skill, knowledge, and commitment to getting things right. We highly recommend FGS Construction for anyone considering their next project.

I got her the information initially, and then a day after they finalized the initial estimate came back with 1 tweak, which they were more than happy to adjust their estimate to accommodate. Not once did I feel like the process was a burden. Saint's estimate was very competitive; however, we received a similar estimate from a contractor we had used previously for a lot of work and were familiar with their work product. Because of my positive experience with Saint for this estimate, I'll be saving them to reach out to for future projects. This was one of the most professional estimate process I've been through for a contractor project. I would recommend Saint Construction based on the extremely professional estimate process. I was really impressed.

They were prompt to respond to my request for quote, detailed in their quote and responsive to all of my questions. When the work began, I noticed right away that they were very detail oriented, and hard working. And they conscientiously cleaned up at the end of each day. I had a family emergency mid-way through construction and they were so patient as we had to do some collaboration virtually and get creative with access to the property. The onsite team gave me very good advice on several things to adjust, small changes to the plan that overall really made a difference -- these weren't "upselling" which sometimes occurs, but just them giving advice based on their experience. I am so happy with the results!

Scott, the owner, is an ex-Marine, and after receiving several personal recommendations from friends who had used him for much bigger projects, we felt confident in our decision. The estimators and project managers were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process. One thing that really set Abode apart was the itemized breakdown of costs, unlike other contractors who gave flat quotes with no explanation. They weren't the most expensive option we looked at, but they also weren't the cheapest. We felt that, based on the quality of work and the transparency in their pricing, their pricing was fair and reasonable. We received cheaper quotes, but they lacked the detail and professionalism that Abode provided. In the end, we felt we got excellent value for what we paid. The house was built in the '80s, and the bathroom had never been updated, so we knew we might run into some surprises. But Scott and his team were great at walking us through the entire renovation, keeping everything clear and transparent from start to finish. I was able to manage the project from a distance while they worked closely with my parents, ensuring everything was just right. They installed features like grab bars and a curbless shower to make the space safe and accessible, all while maintaining a stylish and modern look. In the end, the bathroom is not only safe and functional, but it's also beautiful. My parents--who are in their 80s--are thrilled with the transformation, and the updates will allow them to stay in their home longer. I'm so grateful we found Abode through friends, and I can't recommend Scott and his team highly enough if you're looking for a reliable, top-notch contractor!
