We thought it might be the thermostat so we bought a Nest thermostat and thought the service man would install it. When he came he checked furnace and thermostat and agreed it was the thermostat that needed replacing. I mentioned we had purchased a Nest and asked if he could install it. He didn't seem to think the Nest was compatible. He said he had thermostats in his truck and brought one in, it was a simple Honeywell thermostat. I asked how much it was going to cost, he said $600.00 for thermostat and install. We said no, too expensive. He charged $173.00 for approx 20-30 minutes of his time. I wrote a check. I called another company and had another serviceman come to give me a quote. He took a quick look at the furnace and thermostat and said "there is nothing wrong with your thermostat, it has not been set up correctly." He made a slight adjustment and lo and behold the thermostat is working perfectly! Nice to know there are still some honest people making an honest living. I will call this company any time and trust what they tell me. One thing I didn't mention earlier was that the furnace and thermostat was working last winter. However this past summer I did have another serviceman from Unique come to check if it would be possible to have a humidifier connected to the furnace. I can't say for sure that he touched the thermostat. He may have changed the setup and left without changing it back? Can't say for sure, but mighty suspicious Since we never mess with the setup. Either way, the serviceman from Unique was either totally incompetent or dishonest and just trying to sell me a thermostat for $600.00. I called the company several times, but they never respond. I will never use them again or refer anyone to them. SM

Northern Continental replaced my furnace as well as some ductwork that was damaged by a leaking…read morepipe. They worked alongside the plumber so he could repair the pipe between removing old ductwork and putting in new ductwork. It wasn't a simple job because they had to remove some dropped ceiling in order to get the ductwork out and in. They also replaced some damaged conduit and replaced the ceiling and trim. Everything Mechanical, who had just done an outstanding job on an emergency, after-hours, A/C repair, for me, last week, said that they'd be happy to get it replaced for me. They worked with me, to get the job scheduled, quickly. On the day of the installation Dan, and Kyle, arrived, laid down tarps to protect my tile floor, and carpeted stairway, from any dirt, or damage, and got right to work. They made short work of removing the old water heater, and getting the new unit installed. Both of them were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient while getting the job accomplished. But they always try to send a cheap laborer first who can't fix the issue and sometimes even leaves having made the issue worse. Then we have to call again and again and they keep sending someone incompetent out. I'm sure my landlord uses them because they're cheap. Routine stuff like installations have been no problem, they just followed a manual but after installing that unit they left it making an extremely loud whistling noise all over the house. Anything complex like finding the source of loud noises etc. to fix they cannot do it.

AMAZING SERVICE! DUSTIN IS AWESOME!!! Called a few HVAC…read moreplaces late in the day last week after our A/C unit wasn't blowing cold anymore. Dustin called me back and was able to schedule me in for the morning. Dustin was prompt, on time, and worked fast to troubleshoot the issue. The system was low on Freon so that's where we started. After filling up the system the A/C seemed to blow a little colder, but not much. Dustin was off to another appointment and wanted me to keep him updated once the system ran for a little while. The A/C wasn't getting any better so i made another call to Dustin who was able to come back the same day after his last appointment and take a look. Dustin worked very late into the day (on a weekend) and ultimately found that the A/C condenser in the furnace was completely blocked by lint and dirt, 100% blocked and not letting any air through. After cleaning it up, the A/C system is running better than it ever has. Ice cold A/C, keep the house at 75 in 95 degree heat, and the air is flowing strong out of the vents. Thank you Dustin! Not only is his service top notch, he couldnt be a nicer guy to talk to. He was very friendly and has a huge pride of ownership in his business, which is hard to find. Dustin and Absolute Comfort will be the ONLY call I ever make for all my HVAC needs.
