I've never been to a chiropracter. Never needed one until I was stricken with siatica a few months ago. Very debilitating pain going down my right leg into the ball of my foot. Felt like it was broken when I walked. Found Jim Loucks to be very attentive and explained what was going on and what I could expect. Had 4 sessions so far and pain has subsided a lot. Did my own work as well with stretching excercies 3x per day. I'm not totally cured but at least I can walk without pain. Highly recomend this practice. read more

Jim and Jennifer Louck provide excellent chiropractic care with focus on the individual needs of their patients. They have both been instrumental in helping me feel much better and move more smoothly through daily life. They also have excellent listening and bedside manner which continues to make me feel well supported . I appreciate how they have a detailed plan for me that is adjusted as needed at the beginning of the session as they ask how I'm feeling that day. I highly recommend the Loucks Chiropractic! read more

I went in for one and that got partially fixed and ended up with new issues. The senior doctors no longer take new patients as they have a referral policy only for taking new patients. read more

Great place, Great chiropractors. Went there today for the first time and had an appointment with Jennifer Loucks, great person and very helpful, Great first impression. A place that I would to back again and I would suggest other people to go as well. Good job DC Jennifer Loucks read more

Dr Loucks is amazing. I came from another provider I had been with for over 20 years when he retired and referred me to Dr Loucks. I was hesitant as I'm not an easy adjustment. It took a very short time maybe 2-3 visits and he's amazing. Dr Loucks has learned how to set up the adjustment so my body doesn't resist. He knows exactly what to do when I say I'm out of alignment or there's something in my mid back that is out. What I really appreciate is he doesn't manual manipulation. Although dr louckes uses some massage tools and the click table the majority of his adjustments are from his skill and expertise. He is confident and that's why my adjustments are so easy. He's great with kids, teens and adults and both male and female patients. He makes you feel at ease read more

I highly recommend Jennifer at Loucks Chiropractic. I have been seeing her monthly for over a year now. She is personable, knowledgeable and her techniques work! I always look forward to her appointments, because my body consistently would feel better after. I am currently pregnant and have seen her a few times pregnant now, and she has helped my alignment and lower back pain as my belly has gotten bigger. She is great at what she does and on top of that she is a great person to be around. Her and her husband, Jim are welcoming and make a great team. Thanks again, Jennifer! read more

Best Chiropractic location on the Peninsula. I have been going there for years and always feel better afterwards. I have friends that go there too. The vibe is beachy and very relaxing. Great music, great conversation, I can't say enough about this establishment. They also take children. read more

5 stars because Loucks Chiropractic IS as good as it gets! Seriously, I've been to more than a few chiropractors - and Jim and Jennifer are the best - I don't go regularly, only when I have a problem - clusters of appointments for back pain, spasms and headaches - I get immediate relief and love their help so much. Please give them a try. They are THE BEST. read more

Louck's Chiro is amazing if you have back pain as I usually do. I've been going to Jim since early last year, and every time he is able to align me so that my pain disappears right after each session. Jim knows what he is doing! Check him or his wife Jen out before you go anywhere else. I give him a 10 star rating! read more

A friend at work recommended Louks Chiropractor. I had been to urgent care 2 different times in 4 days. My neck and shoulder were killing me. I had nothing to lose. I had never been to a chiropractor. Dr. Louks was amazing. After 1 appointment all my pain was gone. I even canceled my next appointment and I have been pain free ever since. I highly recommend him. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Its a weird thing to say about a doctor but they are amazing. I've been going to Jennifer (and sometimes to Jim) for couple years now and she really fixed me up. My visits used to be more frequent and now its only once in a while when my back starts hurting. This is a place with caring professionals that are really trying to help you, not one of those places where they tell u to come couple times a week so that they can get as much money out of the insurance and you still go home in pain with no results. So if you are looking for a exceptionally good and caring chiropractor this is the place to go. read more

I can't say enough great things about Loucks chiropractic. Jim and his staff are warm, welcoming and professional. I have had some heavy aches and pains which Jim was able to ease almost immediately. I was so pleased with my experience that I sent my husband and 8 year old daughter in for adjustments as well. This practice has since become a regular part of my family's care team and we couldn't be happier. read more

I agree with all the other 5 star reviews of Loucks chiro. I had a herniated disc and Kaiser was all set to operate on me when I decided to give Spinal Decompression a try. My regular chiro does't have a table but a peer of hers recommended Loucks and my experience over the past couple months has been great. It is looking like I won't need surgery and both Dr. Jim & Dr. Jen are wonderful. They are knowledgeable, very accommodating, caring, and truly want you to get back to your life and activities. I'm not someone who is a good patient, but they both did an amazing job of helping and communicating with me in a way that worked best for me. Dr. Jim has done some adjustments on me as well and he is great, if I wasn't completely satisfied with my current chiro I'd be switching to him. read more

I saw Jim years ago had a couple of adjustments. Very nice and professional guy. First time was fine. Second time I felt dizzy and disoriented for couple of days. A host of other problems followed. I truly believe that chiropractors should get x-rays before blindly adjusting, I was lucky there was no spinal cord damage. read more

The Dox Lox are amazing. I am as picky about someone cracking my spine as I am about getting my hair done (okay, that might not sound right but the women with good hair will know what I mean). Dr. Jim Loucks has been adjusting my husband and me for years and he's fantastic. Not a "why don't you come in 2x's a day so I can bill you" type of chiropractor but a true body mechanic. He can figure out where the issue is and within 2, maybe 3 sessions work it all out. No gimmicks or gadgets. Dr. Jennifer Loucks has worked on me too and my kids (ages 9 & 13). All of us love her. She is excellent with a wonderful manner that sets you at ease immediately. Their practice is run professionally, very organized. They have taken every insurance I have had over the last 5 years, have great hours and are accomodating always to my schedule which is typically "oh my geez, how soon can I get in?". read more

Drs Jim and Jennifer Loucks are the very best. I have been a patient of theirs for almost twenty years. I drop in when I need to and the results of my adjustments are always excellent and expedient. Loucks Chiropractic is a great place to get adjusted. I've been going here for nearly a year now, and I always receive the best service from Dr. Loucks. Both Jim and Jen are super friendly, attentive to my needs, and very experienced. They are both very down to earth, and always want what's best for their patients. What's awesome is that on days when I really need it, you can opt for some body work to loosen you up prior to your adjustment. As long as they stay in San Carlos, I will be their patient. read more

5 stars in this reporters opinion, I don't write reviews unless I'm really upset with a service or really happy, I go to see Dr. Jim every 4 or 5 months now to maintain the results I so much needed when we started working a pinched nerve 2 years ago. He got me back in action within 10 days the first time I needed help and I have learned not to wait and see if it gets better on it's own. Now I know to go before I get all crimped up. read more

Doctor Jim and Jennifer were really helpful. I got my mom there yesterday and this morning with the back pain. Doctor Jim was honest and did fantastic recommendations and consultation for my mom. We didn't had X-ray and MRI with us cus mom left it at home which is out of US and they quickly found us a place where we could get it from, also made a reservation for us. We will be still coming there for treatment this week and will recommend anyone who I know. My mother does not speak English at all and they were patient with that and very polite. That is why they have so many good reviews on Yelp . Recommended:)))) 5 stars read more

Jim seems be nice-ish (I did not see him as a chiro) and he makes up for Jennifer's: 1. Inattention to details: Instead of accurately recording my in-network deductible as $0, Jennifer noted it as $5000 which is actually my out of pocket max. I have a deductible of $500 but ONLY when I go out of network 2. Her cold nature. "Professional" can be a euphemism for a distant manner and that was my experience with Jennifer. In comparison to her, he seems kind of happy. She's just not very thorough which to me means she isn't very good. Appointments are quick, no on site heat, ice or stim. Not much follow up or treatment plan and they work 4 days a week! I didn't feel like I was going to be cared for. They were both clearly annoyed with me for taking their time to get my insurance numbers accurate. Fancy that: I simply wanted to pay them what I owed and not more. But here's the kicker - and be warned - They are committing insurance fraud. That's a big accusation. Stay with me. See details of what they are asking you to sign below.*** As always the devil is in the...they "give" you a choice. 3 points: 1. It is NEVER a patient's responsibility to "make up" for what a practitioner doesn't get paid by insurance by asking for more copay. 2. I didn't check either yes or no on my form and I still got charged $35 a visit (as stated, my copay is $20). So Jim & Jen, I'd like my $15x3=$45 back. All of this is on its way to my carrier. 3. It's not as if Jennifer said just prior to administering the procedure: "going to take a moment because I'm sure you're not exactly aware of what this procedure is so just making sure you still want it and are ok to pay for it." ***Advanced Benefit Notification: All HMO Plans, ASH, Medicare, Health Net, Blue Cross & Cigna Covered Patients (Additional Form Required to be signed) I do hereby acknowledge that a certain portion of my care will NOT be covered by my insurance company under the terms of my Benefit Plan. Over the last couple of years I have been getting bad headaches & migraines and ever since I have been going to see the Loucks Chiropractors, they have slowly gone away. I really enjoy going to their practice they are always so knowledgeable in answering my questions. They are open early so I can get myself adjusted in the morning and I like that. You've got to go here for all your aches and pains! I've worked with Jim and Jen for several years and always have good results. They are a fun and friendly, husband and wife team who are hard working and seem to have a good time doing it! I've always appreciated their flexibility and no-pressure approach to my health care. I've been to chiropractors in the past that don't spend much time listening to what's going on with me and really up-sell me on how often I need to go in. I'm a loyal patient for life! read more

Dr. Jim saved my back, literally. Leaving for a work trip tomorrow and have been in a lot of discomfort the last 5 days after over training last week. Advil, stretching, rolling-out and ice were not doing anything so I had to take emergency measures, I had to call a Dr. Thankfully, my call was to Dr. Jim. I was in his office before lunch and after some questions, soft-tissue work, and a few adjustments, POOF! I was back to 6' tall and feeling 100%, instantly. Still can't believe it. Only regret is that I was too stubborn ton go see him 4 days ago! read more

I'm a long-time non-believer in chiropractic, I have to admit. I thought it was hooey. But when my neck and back were getting messed up because of a new job, my husband finally convinced me to give it a try. And bear in mind that he has three crushed vertebrae in his back from mountain biking. He'll barely let *me* touch his back. So when he told me that Jim is the back expert, I had to listen. He was right. It was like Jim released years of tension from my back in my first adjustment. Since then, I've been in several times and he's given me some stretches and stuff that help. I swear, I feel taller and lighter after each appointment. I wish I could go every day. read more

Jim is the best. I've gone to him for several problems, and this last one was a doozy! I went in there in such pain today, and he fixed me almost immidiately! It's amazing what a little adjusting could do. Highlty reccomend this place for anyone with any back issues. read more

Jim was awesome. In 4 visits he took care of some shoulder pain. I've been to tons of chiropractors and Jim is great....

I went to Dr Louck over a year ago with terrible sciatic pain. So bad that I was having trouble walking. He no only adjusted me but he took the time to teach me stretches and exercises to make it go away and not come back. That's exactly what happened. Fast forward to now, I haven't been able to sleep with middle back pain. I go in yesterday and last night was the first full night of sleep I've had since I can remember. He also taught me foam roller stretches for my specific problem. I love that he doesn't try and sell me crap I don't need or pressure me for X-rays or try and lock in a follow up appt like other chiros I've been to (all of them) They moved to a wayyyyy cute location off el Camino and I love bringing my daughter to see their dog. Ps- I know I'm fanning out but this is a real review from a real local person that has a better quality of life because of their practice. read more

Dr. Loucks is great! I really enjoy the atmosphere of the clinic, the family vibe makes me feel very welcome. I got a referral to Dr. Loucks from a high school friend of his and after years of refusing to see a chiropractor I found myself in so much pain I made an appointment, was seen right away and it only took like 2-3 sessions to get my back adjusted properly. That was like 2 or more years ago. I've been feeling great, and it isn't until a recent strain that I've needed to see him since. read more

Posting this review for my 83-year old mother, verbatim. Dear Dr. Loucks, I'd like to let you know how grateful I am for the incredible job you did on my arm. This place came highly recommended by my co-worker. Jennifer has been adjusting me for more than a year now and I absolutely love her work. She is very patient and professional. As I tend to have tight knots around my shoulder and neck (thanks to long hours working on my laptop), she is able to pin point the sore areas and gives a great short massage. In fact she set the bar so high that no masseuses can compare to her, and we are not even talking about her specialty (which is of course the Chiro work)! The place is clean and has lots of parking spaces. Highly recommend this place! read more

I have been going to the Loucks for chiropractic care for years now and have always been impressed with the level of care they provide, their sincere interest in your health (your life and your family), and the results they produce. I was in a rear-end car accident in 1996 and occasionally it comes back to haunt me and I also am an avid exerciser. After a couple of months, my symptoms begin to accumulate to the point where I know I need to go see them. After my appointments it is always like being back to the 25 year old I was before I got into the accident. I highly, highly recommend them! read more

I have been suffering with lower back and shoulder pain off and on for over 15 years. My pain gets triggered when I lift my weights wrong. I have been going to several different Chiropractors through out the years, but recently I was referred to Dr. Jim and Jennifer through a co-worker and I need to says I have not been any happier. His technique in adjusting is so quick and efficient that I do not have time to be scared like I have in the past. Jennifer is so pleasant when I come in or call. Got a referral for Jim from my husband's chiro while I was preggers and suffering back pain. Jim has a lot of experience with pregnant clients, so if you're worried about it, don't be! I've been going for 5 years, and my back pain has pretty much gone away. These days I go in 1x/month for maintenance, or if I hurt myself doing something. I've never been kept waiting for an appointment, they are well-organized and super-efficient. I've recommended them to lots of friends. Since I've been going, my back is better, my wrists are better (carpal tunnel prevention), and my migraines (4-6x/yr) have been waaaaay reduced (1-2x/year, and a lot less strong). Yay Jim! read more
