01/19/2026 We walk in about around 6:00pm. First thing walking in I was very excited to see such beautiful scenery. Second the service wasn't bad, but could have been better . Food was very tasty. Me and my boyfriend had been waiting all day to eat somewhere nice. But after eating and going home about an hour later we didn't start to feel good. We just blew it off and thought it was just something small. 10:43pm he is currently throwing up and I can hear his stomach from the other room. NEVER EVER GOING BACK. The oil they must have used for those wonton chips MUST HAVE BEEN OLD. And that's bc we only ate 1 basket. I'm currently fighting with my stomach as well, cramps and all. He was looking forward to eating here all day since he brought it up around lunch time bc it's a place where he used to eat at with his family since he was little. DO BETTER. This Chinese restaurant is the BEST Chinese restaurant you'll eat at in the RGV area! I was very surprised to taste how incredibly good the food is here. My husband and I adore Chinese food and to have found this wonderful restaurant with so many delicious choices on their menu was a fantastic find. You will not be disappointed. The only thing we did not like was the spicy calamari, only because it wasn't crispy. But one item out of twelve is not bad! So if you love Chinese-- this is your place! read more

We had their Chicken Almond and their TSO Chicken. Both dishes were excellent. There was enough food that we could have split the dish.

I got an all day special general tso's for carry out and it was not good, food tasted bland and the flavor was not there. Egg roll was nasty and noodles were dry and bland as well. I was upcharged for I don't know what else. Restaurant was empty when I went. Do not recommend going there. read more

Consistently good! I have been eating at Lotus Inn for over 20 years and I am never disappointed. The food is always delicious. The service is great! The portions are perfect. My favorite is their chicken with mixed vegetables in hunan sauce. The fried rice is so tasty. I also love this cabbage soup. read more

I would not recommend this place. Came in during lunch hour and ordered an iced tea. While preparing my tea with sweetner, I noticed a tiny dead roach floating in my tea. When I alerted the waitress, all she did was take my glass away and replaced it with another. I was still charged the tea, but above all I was offerred no apology for serving me a roach flavored drink!!! I have not returned back to this location. read more

So I called in an order to avoid waiting and arrived approximately 45 minutes after I did so. Ordered 3 sushi rolls, 1 egg drop soup, jalapeno chicken and 2 teas to go. We were starving and Chinese food was what we were craving. I got there, expected to pay, pick up the food and leave. Nobody was at the counter and I see another poor soul sitting with his head down on a table waiting for his to-go order. Some lady finally comes out from the kitchen and tries to assist us. She looks down at the order she previously wrote down on paper at the time we called in 45 minutes ago. Low and behold she messed up the sushi order....ok it happens and I let it slide..no prob. Then some other lady comes out the kitchen and tells her theres "no rice" in spanish. So after hearing that she repeats what she just heard to us and says, "no hay arroz." (No rice) So we're confused now.....how the heck can a Chinese restaurant run out of rice?! Lmao Then she says we have to wait 30 minutes for the sushi rolls! So at this point we've realized that 1. She messed up our sushi order 2. Our order wasnt ready 3. They ran out of "RICE" lmao 4. Our sushi rolls were never prepared and we were not notified at the time we placed the order 5. The egg drop soup was chunky! Nasty... 6. The egg roll was soaked in water 7. No sushi rolls :( 8. They put both of our iced teas in soup containers..lol 9. They seemed like they didnt even care about messing up everything...I can imagine about the rest of the people that dine in, place to-go orders, and work in the back. NEVER GOING BACK. So, I was craving Chinese and decided to try out this place instead of Lins. It was a big mistake, as soon as I walked in there was no one to greet me and some poor man waiting at the counter. Finally, a waitress tells us to sit anywhere so I sit down and the table is dirty with what looked like a booger on the table. I asked her to clean it up and she hesitated but did. Then she brought my coke with a glass that was just filthy, so I asked for another glass and told her I was ready to order, she said the lady is busy. Lol, really there was like three couples there. I waited 5 minutes asked her again and she waved her arms like saying what? I then walked out. What a horrible experience the manager should be fired along with the whole staff and they should start from scratch but I will never go back! read more

Faves: stir fried udon, fried rice, hunan chicken, tso chicken, and the hot and sour soup! There are also lots of sushi choices. This Chinese restaurant is family owned and operated and has been a big Brownsville staple for many many years! There are lots of regulars that dine here weekly or monthly, so it's nice to see friendly faces often. Some staff have been working there for so long, so their turnover is low, which goes to show the restaurant's work ethics. The staff is always really pleasant and kind. The restaurant has gone through some remodeling- new bathrooms, new tables/booths, and a really big fish tank in the center of the dining room. Food was so good like oh my fucking god we ate that food up. NO CAP. Whoever makes the dumplings needs a whole ass raise like bruh yall have no idea. The california roll is so fucking good especially with the spicy mayo like no cap that stuff is delicious. Felt so full after eating and its so affordable too. Wow. I am so upset with this place. I remember coming here after my college days, sitting down, smoking a ciggarrette, and really enjoying the atmosphere. The food has always been GREAT!! Unfortunately, I recently came down to eat, and had the worst experience ever. As I walked in, craving the General Tsao chicken (the best in Texas may i add), something didnt seem right. The smell of old lady perfume and unbathed dish washers, lingered in the air. It wasnt the same. I sat down, got my usual Dr Pepper. The fish tanks, dirty. Carpet, dirty. I still wanted to eat. The waitress comes, (rude attitude, non friendly, and clearly hasnt showered), and takes my order. After taking my order, she walked off into the wind, leaving that pungent odor at my table. Anyways, I got my food. No refill. Start eating, and what do I find? A pubic hair. Two curls. Perfectly placed upon my rice. Trying to blend in. (20/20 vision helps). I pointed it out. She looked at me with a face of guilt, like Donald Trump being accused of groping women. I got up, and wanted to speak to the manager. "The manager is on break." Wow. What a team. Have not been here in over a year since don't live in Brownsville anymore, used to love love the food. I had to pay a dollar extra per plate to add onions and when I got home found no onions added to either order. The rice was not oriental fried rice as it once was. Very very dissapointed. Well the food I believe is great. But then again I do love Chinese food. Or American Chinese. The service well for being Brownsville is decent.
