First visit to Lin's Buffet, I was so hungry for Chinese food. As with any buffet you grab a clean dish each time you return for another plate. Well, that would be great if the dishes were clean, I passed on the soup I wanted to much because the bowls were not clean. The dessert options were very few, sushi was dry but what I did eat was not bad. The price was reasonable, go during the week and over 59 ask for the senior discount. The highlight had to be our server, a ver nice attentive older woman. It was busy but there was still plenty of seating available. Very Disappointed. Had absolutely no taste. Even the hot and sour soup wasn't spicy. No juice in the entree's. Cost us almost $45 for lunch with tip. Never again. They have out priced themselves. Place was almost empty. Not good! read more

Where do I even start...I would give this one star but the service isn't bad and the place is pretty clean so I'll give them that. The food though was.... some things are good like the rice noodles and the coconut shrimp, but other things were questionable. I'm a big rib fan and the ribs tasted like they were made with maraschino cherry syrup..it was interesting and not something I enjoyed. The sushi had carrots in it, enough said there. The ice cream had freezer burn on it and the ice cream scooper that everyone touches gets put into the same grey water over and over. The fruit options are low, I think I only saw melon and watermelon. The crab legs are on ice....extremely cold. All the buffets I've ever been to serve crab legs steamed with a side of butter. No taste, food tastes bland. The sushi has too much cream cheese in almost all there sushi. Does not taste good. In one of the sushi's has to much mayo. Over all the food has either to much salt and no flavor. Service was good, waitress was nice and kept refilling our drinks. Ambiance: wish they would play Asian music instead bachata. There's black mold in some areas on the ceiling. Needs to be more cleaned. There were broken plates & majority of the clean plates had food stuck and still wet. They also need to clean the buffet area more thoroughly. Will not be returning. The price is 20.55 included with drink for dinner. Food is mostly flavorless. The orange chicken was the least offensive of all the things we got. The portion sizes are good, you get a lot, but it's not worth it because it's not good enough to want to eat more of it. My boyfriend will generally finish food even if it's not great because he hates to waste, and he threw most of it out. The topper... we ordered crab Rangoon. And got some weird fried balls (see photo). The balls are crab but to me it tastes a chicken nugget stuffed with imitation crab meat. I called to talk to someone and ask what happened and find out exactly what these were and they couldn't give me an answer. Talked to 2 different people and they said "I don't know what crab rang... what is?" They couldn't even say it!!! What? Just what?!? read more

We were the 3rd person to enter the establishment at opening time. We figured we'd get the freshest their food would be. Boy was I severely disappointed. Majority of the hot temp food looked and tasted like it was yesterday's rehears. The sushi was room temp warm like it's been sitting out for awhile. Service was the best thing about today. As for ambiance, oriental design on tables and glassworks but music was neither oriental nor North American. BIG let down. I had not been to Lins in a very long time and decided to visit today. I paid 33$ for two people, which i thought was fine for a decent buffet. Well on my first serving as I was trying to fork my food, I came accross a nice burnt piece of a zip tie. At this point, im not very picky with food but i have to admit finding that on my plate was pretty disturbing, not to mention concerning. Ok so I guess "accidents happen" right as the manager told me. The restaurant offered me a coupon for 10% discount on my next visit and stated that i had to understand that accidents do happen. I requested my money back as this pretty much ruined my lunch but the manager said she could not issue me a refund as it had been an accident. Disgusting, becareful when eating at this restaurant, as im sure if the restaurant would rather lose a customer than issue a refund, i can only imagine the care they give their food. read more

Came here with some co-workers on a business trip. I was teasing my co-worker that all we ate was Mexican food (which I was totally fine with on this trip) so he suggested this place. AMBIANCE- this place is big (must be a Texas things) buffet sits in the center with booths and tables all on the outside. The place is pretty clean, but not decorated in any sort of "theme." SERVICE- it's a buffet, not much to comment on here. It was funny though, being from the midwest I asked for a "pop" and my server asked me what that was. I love regional dialect. other than that interaction, the server was attentive in clearing our plates, and refilling my "coke." MENU- they had all kinds of food. I swear there was a column of just straight deep fried food. In addition to your standard chinese buffet items, they had a fair variety of mexican food as well. FOOD- nothing stood out as earth shattering, but considering it was a buffet, the food was a pretty decent quality. OVERALL- even the pickiest eater could find something to enjoy here. We recently tried the buffet in Brownsville. Everything we had except the stuffed crab (which clearly looked old) was quite good. I liked the Mongolian grill although it was a little over salted. But I wish they had more choices available for your stir fry. Need more veggie choices, need eggs for sure!! I know they're expensive but so is the price of the buffet! If you're like me, visiting from out of town & looking for a restaurant that won't utterly disappoint, you need a review that is useful and not riddled with snobbish opinions. So I'll try to be more factual. Overall Appearance: 5* Outside and inside is clean and well kept. Cleanliness: 5* No trash or stains anywhere. For the hour that my family was eating there, the staff kept busy by cleaning floors, tables, and chairs (even wiping down the chair legs) Food: 4.5*. The food was at sanitary temperatures, the variety seemed about what you'd expect from a buffet chain. My only complaint was that BV water has a different taste than what I'm use to, and it's reflected in the food, but really municipal water can't be held against them. Service: 3*. This one requires some subjective opinion. The waitresses smiled and kept our drinks refilled, but I'm a country raised simpleton that like a little southern hospitality. Three rows of buffet items,plus a Mongolian on demand style plus sushi. Except the Mongolian style I found the food to be on the lower side of quality as like in most buffets. Most sushi's have cream cheese in them , or its the California roll and with no fish. I can only speak to the vegetarian options, which there were at least 4. They were fresh and tasty, not overly sauced and limp. It has been difficult to find restaurants that offer more than one vegetarian option. An added bonus is that they allow you to purchase the buffet by the pound so you can take it out. This is a perfect option for those of us that feel a bit ripped off by the cost of an all you eat buffet. I'm not a big fan of buffet's, but this was actually surprisingly pretty decent. I guess it's a chain, I saw a lot of them down there in the Valley, but this was my first encounter. And, if push comes to shove, probably won't be my last. They had an amazing array of foods from kung pao chicken to french fries, to beef with broccoli, to fresh fruit, to sushi, to chicken wings, to egg rolls, to biscuits...you name it, they had it. And all of it didn't look too bad. I liked the huge selection of sushi they had, normally I have been on other Chinese buffet places and they have more variety on warm dishes than sushi, but this place has a lot of choices for sushi-lovers! One of the good things about this place as well is the great variety of seafood that they have (crab, salted shrimp, crawfish, salmon, etc) I tasted the salmon and it was decent, a little bit dry but OK. They also have a area where you choose the ingredients and there is a chef that will cook it for you. It gets a little bit crowded, so in this occasion I chose not to go for it. They might need to add more variety of fruit in the bar as well as the ice cream, it is on a freezer for self-serving and it is a little bit hard to pour a scoop from the ice cream containers, so there is another bottleneck you might find. read more

I am editing my first review of this place. Going to be honest here. Sushi tastes like it was made days beforehand, food is inconsistent and often too salty or mushy. Many times it is floating in grease and very rough to eat. The staff is generally rude and will go out of their way to ignore you. Fish is overly fishy, generally meaning it is old. This place has a lot to learn when it comes to serving good quality food, it should never be about the quantity. I have been here twice, both times in the afternoon. Noodles were OK but far cry from many other Asian restaurants I have been to in the past and I don't know if their food contains MSG. Food that hardens or dries up should either be changed out or not made at all. The rice was a bit chewy and one of ice cream flavors that had barely been touched had frost. As for the water I drank, it did not taste filtered, makes me wonder about the tea. Before my first glass of water, I noticed lipstick mark and asked for second one. Our waiter Yvette was nice. How ever I had a problem with hair in my food, I made myself a plate of fresh cooked noodles. I began to eat it only to notice a hair in my food.
