Was here in town for 1 night as I couldn't get the hotel I wanted in Padre. Anyway, after checking in to our hotel, decided to look around on yelp. I try not to look for buffet as I'm just fat and have little will power when it comes to food. But I was craving both Asian food and Mongolian bbq. When we got there around 630p on a Saturday night, we were quickly seated. It's your typical Chinese buffet in walking around. I usually like to start with the Mongolian bbq. The meat selection was good along with some veggies, but no cabbage? Also, there are no sauce selection, so I had to tell the cook to put less soysauce/salt, and ok to make it spicy. The bbq was ready in about 5min, but as expected, the cook added too much soy sauce as it was a bit salty. The spiciness was just right however. Overall, it wasn't bad, except for too much sauce. The rest of the buffet was the typical Asian food. There really is nothing that stands out. Only thing different about this place is that you have to pay first, then they seat you. Aside from that, nothing fancy or special, and nothing bad to report. It's your typical Asian buffet, with some sushi, soup, Mongolian bbq, etc. read more

It's pretty hard to find vegan food in this area. Certainly, carnivores will love this place, but a vegan can also eat a decent meal. There are a couple vegetable dishes, plain lo mein, some animal-free sushi, and white rice in the sushi area if you don't like egg in your fried rice. Some egg-free fried rice would be a wonderful addition, but I'll take what I can get. My only real problem with the place is that it's a zoo at peak mealtimes because the patrons' children are completely out-of-hand. I don't think the restaurant will do much about this, since they want the parents to come back. We've been here several times, and found the food to be the very best during prime meal times. The food was hot and had a good appearance. They did a good job of replenishing the buffet as needed. The servers kept our table cleared of the used plates, and they did a good job of refilling our beverage glasses. We've tried a couple of other Asian buffets in Brownsville, but this one is at the top of our list. Prices are very good. Beverages cost extra. So I have been here several times since I moved to texas last year. This buffet seems to be the best compared to the other two buffets I have been to. There food is usually fresh and hot and the men making the hibachi are really great. The person making the sushi is awesome and is really creative. The sushi here is the best I've had. The only complaint I have is that they never seem to cook their egg rolls long enough. The pastry on the inside is usually too chewy and the filling very watery. But the flavor was spot on the one time I had a nicely cooked one. The orange chicken and the coconut shrimp is awesome. They make really great vegetables too. One think I really wish they would do is enforce their rule of children being watched by their parents at the bars. One kid today almost grabbed the hot metal on the back of the hibachi grill, and then he put his hands in my food that had just been placed down. I would happily give it five stars if they would enforce parents to watch their own kids. read more

Made me think are the warmers even working. I have never eaten at a buffet that serves cool foods that are suppose to be "preventing bacterial growth". This is one of my favorite "Asian" style buffets to eat at. They have won multiple awards for cleanliness which makes me feel at ease eating there. Their "Mongolian" bar has plenty of raw veggies and meats. They have a small, but very tasty, variety of sushi which is always prepared freshly and right in front of you. I don't always pick on the buffet bar but the items I do select are always warm/hot and fresh. The Coconut Shrimp is very tasty when available. February 21, 2019. We just returned from dinner at the Asian Buffet. We were a party of 6 adults and tried most of the dishes offered. A couple of us really liked the coconut shrimp and another quite liked the Teriyaki chicken. The wonton soup was good but the meat in the wontons had a slightly rancid taste. We found most of the chicken on the buffet also had a rancid taste. The fresh fruit was good. We were at the buffet for about an hour. Before leaving one of us was struck with a bout of diarrhea. The women's washroom was dirty which wanted to make you puke. On the way home we had to rush because 2 more of our party was about to have diarrhea. I do not recommend this Asian Buffet...while the buffet looks impressive, in reality it is quite disgusting. My gut is still rumbling so I guess I'm still not finished with the diarrhea!
