Check your receipts! They overcharge, refuse to honor the posted price and scream at you if you point that out to them. Lot-Less is like many chain discount stores, sort of like a poor man's TJ Maxx (#1) meets Sears. It's definitely not a 99 cents type discount store and I think this Ridgewood location might just be the first Lot-Less I've ever been to. And yet, I'm impressed with the inventory of the place, how clean it is, and how the prices are truly a "lot-less" than other discount spots. I was impressed with the quality of the snacks / food items they had, as well as the niche accessories ranging from electronics to crafts. The clothing aisles are nothing to fawn over, as most of the stuff is generic at best. I was able to find kitchenware, picture frames, office supplies and a halfway decent collection of luggage at super affordable prices. I also appreciated the employees here. They were helpful in helping me locate items and courteous at the register. Weekends can be a tough time to shop here since they do attract a good crowd. I was there yesterday and this woman named "Tee" supposedly a supervisor had the strong smell if alcohol and it was only 3pm. She was so rude as well and complaining about opened packages. Worst service ever. Definitely not recommending and please give that woman some AA treatment. read more

I was so excited to see that a Lot-Less Closeout store was opening so close to home on Fresh Pond Road. Right off of the M stop. I waited for months agonizing it's grand opening. Last Wednesday was its first day open and I'm happier than ever! This space is really big and they utilized all the space very well! It's freaking huge! You have EVERYTHING here from food to bath & body items to make-up, clothing, household items, gifts, toys, etc., etc. Literally, everything! The only thing Lot-Less is missing is a much needed pet section. Would love to see them eventually have one. I was here earlier today and got 2 bags full of items for only twenty bucks. Betsey Johnson socks for only $1.99 each! An Almay gift set with a beautiful purple trio eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and eye makeup remover pads for only $5.99. STEAL! I rarely buy cereal anymore or only buy it on sale because it's so expensive but I can finally buy it here because all cereal is priced at 1.99! They sell Walgreens de Lish snacks for only .99 cents each! Shopping at any Lot-Less can be challenging though. This is due to the fanatic crowds that frequent the store. Trash people who don't move to let you pass and leave messes in their wake.The staff here also leave a lot to be desired. The cashier that tended to me got so nervous, put in the wrong total of what I gave her and was panic stricken. She just walked away with her cash drawer open. Got reprimanded for that in front of me by her superior. The staff are quite gruff. Hopefully it'll get better as the store settles in. Lot-Less is a VERY welcomed addition to the neighborhood. Convenient location that has an interesting selection of everything from food, apparel to housewares. I shop in there frequently. Nice workers they are helpful. Ok return policy although they don't take back everything so you have to be careful. Great if you need a nice gift for someone but can't over spend. Prices are reasonable. i notice lot less closeouts popping up all over especially in queens and today i am visiting the ridgewood location. place is spacious inside , plenty of aisles with well stocked shelves and with the only 20 customers in store rule i am able to roam with plenty of space to push my cart around .alot of useful stuff thats priced right from electronics, health and beauty goods, snacks, clothing , home cleaning products, some basic inexpensive housewares, etc. better stocked and more stuff then the smaller astoria location and checkout is quick with 5 cashiers working . a step above five below and 2 steps above dollar tree. worth the visit and i can almost say without a doubt that you will leave with more then a few things and still have money left over in your pocket. read more

This store seems so always have a lot of people working which is really nice because I tend to need help finding things sometimes. There is a security person when you walk in and a decent amount of womens clothes. There is a large selection of home goods and a good amount of dog stuff. There's also a large selection of hair and body care products. What I like the most about this place is name brand stuff for cheaper, nice workers, lines go quickly. read more

Lot less needs to fix their return policy. Seriously they need a manager to do return items and the cashiers cannot do returns. However there's only one manager and she's overworked as it is. I have been waiting here for over 10 minutes to return two items. Still waiting. The total time of wait was over 25 minutes just to return two items. Horrible wait time due to lack of staff that can do returns. read more

I enjoy browsing this store because I always find something here that I can use. The prices are decent especially on the curtains. Oh so many things to say about my experience today . First off I go to check out what new things they have on the racks they're quite busy with many customers in the store . I get to the register and there are like 15 people online and two cashiers ringing up . One employee behind the counter just throwing things in a cart for put backs but doesn't even acknowledge that people are getting upset and irritated that she isn't helping . Then comes a customer who wasn't online asking for a manager because another employee accused her of stealing because she open a box to look at the merchandise. Now one of the cashiers tells her the manager went home and left for the day . She's very bothered that she was accused of something she didn't do so the cashier stops ringing people up to go find out what employee accused her . Now we're down to 1 cashier 1 employee who could careless that there were 15 people that were trying to make purchases . Now everyone on line is looking around at each other in awe and couldn't believe this was happening . AND then the useless employee behind the counter told the cashier she is going to the bathroom and will be back to take the cart away . The cashier responds "dont you see how long this line is you should be helping me". She ignores her and walks away to the back. Ten minutes go by and now there's 1 cashier ringing this entire line alone. I waited 10 more minutes hoping someone would help her to move this line along and so I could make my purchase and go home . But No , no one came back so I dropped the merchandise that was worth a good $100 dollars and walked out . Horrible experience! No consumer should have to deal with this and the manager should have been in the store managing things . That manager should be fired !!! read more
