On this visit, there were no free refills for the horchata and there was an also an extra charge for swapping out the red sauce with cheese sauce; these were unbeknownst to me. Nevertheless, Los Tres Amigos is still my favorite Mexican/ Tex-Mex restaurant on the WB. read more

Great place for Taco Tuesday! Tacos were freshly made & $2 each every Tuesday. Service was friendly and decorum was neat. To be honest, nothing too much to critique on during my experience here. Would come back to try out their other dishes on the menu. read more

usually don't leave bad reviews, but our experience here was honestly terrible. We've given this place multiple chances , we've been about three times and it feels like there's always something wrong. This time, I ordered a T-bone steak cooked medium, and what I got was basically raw and impossible to eat. I sent it back and they cooked it some more Then my husband found a plastic lid inside his bowl of charro beans. A whole lid just sitting in there. When we told the staff, all they said was "sorry" and tried to offer us some cheese dip like that was going to fix it. No real apology, no explanation, nothing. We really tried to give this place chances, but after repeated bad experiences, we're done. We won't be coming back. read more

No food pictures because I took one bite and couldn't stop eating!! I had the 3 tacos dinner (2 pastor 1 beef) with rice and beans 10/10 Even my mango margarita was a 10/10! I'll be back read more

If i could id give this place a zero. We went there to celebrate my dad's birthday, it was me, my brother, and my dad. there were about two or three tables seated already and three servers. one server sat us down and left us for 15 minutes. we then left because we hadn't even gotten asked about our drinks. then, while we were just about to pass the autozone on lapalco, i realized i forgot something at the restaurant. so we turned back and when i got there, ten minutes from the original time we left, the table had been untouched and there were no servers in sight. we were all really excited to try the place only to be disappointed. i'd love to talk about the food but we didn't get any. I don't usually write reviews but this was genuinely appalling. read more

Not what we had hoped for. The exterior and interior are authentic mexican style, colorful & circus like, though the inside was a bit cramped, & the chairs uncomfortable. Our meals were very bland and not at all like most of the mexican food we have had and liked. I had the enchilada special & my wife had the fajita plate. Our meals were NOT bad, just not good. Our waitress was unpleasant, either mad at the world or something. Though the restaurant was not crowded, she was hard to find and flag down, and after she served our food, never came by the table voluntarily. I would not recommend this restaurant and we will not go back. read more

Food and service are great! Five dollar margaritas on taco Tuesday are HUGE! Horchata to go is also massive

If I could take my one star back I would. I ordered a specific item on the menu via Uber eats for my lunch break. Spent close to 20$ and they did not prepare my chimichanga correctly. I specifically picked the menu item because I was covered in cheese sauce and had all the ingredients I was hoping for. Instead I got this shit. I will never purchase again. read more

Los Tres Amigos - No cheese sauce in sight with very little rice and beans and a dry chimichanga for $20. - Mexican Near Me - Harvey, Louisiana

I love me some mexican! I don't require much..flavorful rice n beans, cold beer, and a crunchy shell on my taco. Check..check..and check! I came here on a quiet saturday for lunch. Service was quick. I ordered a taco plate with rice n beans. Unlike the last mexican place I reviewed...who shall remain nameless..this place actually understands that you can't put my freakin crunchy taco on a plate with rice n beans bc it will get soggy! Quick, tasty meal at a good price. Worth a repeat trip. read more

Los Tres Amigos - Love a taco holder...no soggy shells here my friend. - Mexican Near Me - Harvey, Louisiana

Honestly the best Mexican in the new Orleans area for sure. Tex mex style at its finest. The shrimp fajitas are fantastic. The guac, salsa also on point. Fairly priced, and huge portions. It's nice to go to an Mexican restaurant, and have a Mexican staff, this place is the real deal. My lady is from Texas, and she tells me this place is on par with the tex mex you'll get there. As in most places, your best bang for your buck will be for lunch. And the lunch menu is extensive. Definitely in my rotation going forward. read more

First time here and we loved it! We've had a hard time finding good Mexican food since we moved here from California. This place is close to the real deal. Shredded beef! OMG! Fantastic. Service was excellent. Only negative would be that the portions aren't real big and the beans and rice are so-so. Yummy margaritas!!! We will be back for sure. read more

The food is great. The prices are competitive especially given the quality and amount of food you get. The owner is very personable and always aims to please. The wait staff is right on time and very pleasant. I like the ambiance. they also have live music on certain nights and have a patio for cooler days and nights. I think you will be impressed and really like the restaurant. My friend went there a long time ago and didn't like it. It was a very long time ago. After one of the more recent hurricanes, this was one of the only restaurants open. She was reluctant to go. But we had no choice. Now, she almost lives there. She is moving and is going to really miss this place. Her fiance lives and Lake Charles. When they come into town, (she is going to be moving there, permanently) they go to see the owner at least one time no matter how short the stay. They never miss the opportunity to make a visit. read more

I've been to Los Tres Amigos only about twice a year in the last 15y. Not great, but usually satisfying. My kids like the Sopa de Mariscos. The guacamole is good, so is the standard red salsa and chips. The rice and beans are tasty and good. Today I ordered the enchiladas de queso with salsa verde and was very dissatisfied. The enchiladas were pan fried and very chewy, needing a knife to cut them, and the cheese used was shredded Colby-jack, also too firm. Not good and not traditional, and very greasy. I eat enchiladas de queso at most Mexican restaurants, and this is the worst version I have ever had. I let the waitress know and she asked if I had ever had them there before since they are always made that way. (I had, but 2 years prior and better). She didn't seem to care that I had an opinion about the dish and didn't offer to discuss with anyone. I didn't want any refund, and I'm posting this only to let the restaurant management know so they can improve this dish for the better. read more

The Texanos Nachos. With the shrimp, steak, and chicken, the sautéed bell peppers and onions and three different types of cheese. 100% what you should get every time. That and the big guacamole. Oh best believe me their enchiladas are great, I'm sure their other menu items are also fantastic. But what is so so so special about Los Tres Amigos that gets me driving to the West bank because you can't find them anywhere else is those fantastic, unique, and stupidly delicious nachos. read more

Los Tres Amigos is an average Mexican restaurant. That being said, there are a few redeeming qualities. The building was once a different restaurant, so the design seems a bit odd. While I cant remember exactly what it was, it reminds me of a breakfast restaurant. There is nothing wrong with that, but the layout seems a bit odd. One nice thing is the patio area. In front there are several tables with simulated palm umbrellas. On a nice day you could dine and have a great view of the traffic driving down Lapalco. One nice thing they do is the individual servings of salsa. Rather than bring out two filled bowls, they bring a glass container filled with salsa. This lets you decide how many bowls you want to make. This is a nice feature. Service was acceptable, but drink refills were few and far between. The food wasn't bad, but seemed rather average. With so many other Mexican options on the West Bank, I don't think I will be returning again anytime soon. read more

Today is the last time we eat at this place anymore, this was the second time we had sour rotten beans, once maybe, but twice ? Then they charged us full price, never again. All these places don't have real good food it's all boxed and packaged El Paso's, Los Poncho's, Los com-padres, etc. We'll make our own fresh food at home and know what we're eating. people don't have money to waste on this trash food. read more

Dishonest. The food and pitcher of margueritas are actually good and I like(d) Los Tres Amigos. DO NOT ORDER HERE. ITS A RIP OMy husband and I JUST received our Grubhub online order from Los Tres Amigos after the driver delivered the order way over an hour late. Upon receiving our order, the food DID NOT look like anything from the advertisement. Not even remotely close. I ordered what's called a, "Crazy Salad." It was suppose to come w/ spinach & romaine lettuce w/ red onions. And what I got was a regular lettuce head w/ carrots and white onion. My husband only received a partial of his said "Sampler" order. DO NOT WASTE UR TIME OR MONEY, AS I WASTED $50. FOR NOTHING.!!! They only got 1 star because I had no choice. I wanted to give them a ZERO.!!! Sandy T. read more

I ate here last week and I am just now getting around to writing a review for this place, mainly because my experience here was pretty forgettable. The food here is a solid three stars: not overly great, not bad at all, really just "meh". I got the chicken flautas which came with a side of rice and beans. It wasn't bad. Halfway through the meal, I was wishing that I had added a little spice to the rice and beans, as it was really kind of bland. The prices weren't bad and I would say that it's a good place for a fast hot lunch. I will say that "Amigos" does have an extensive menu and even the pickiest eaters are sure to find something that they will enjoy. Unfortunately, the Westbank doesn't have as diverse of a selection of Mexican faire as other parts of the city, but my Westbank "go to" is still El Mesquite Grill. read more

Well I decided to hit this joint up today and see if it was any good. The people here were pretty friendly. The hostess that sat me was very friendly. So was the spanish waitress that took my order. I did notice they had a really good menu selection. I ordered the Chimichanga . It came with spanish rice and refried beans. The chimichanga was good and so were the refried beans. The rice was okay but nothing special. Before I even got my meal I was provided free chips and salsa which I think should be a standard at every mexican restaurant. The best thing was that there portions were huge. The decor was typical of what you would see at a mexican restaurant. They had quite a selection of beer and mixed drinks. Which I will have to check again on another date and time, preferably when I do not have to be at work the next day. In short really good place to grab some good mexican food and a few drinks. read more

The food was good I had a chicken steak fajitas the white queso & it was cold my cousin got chicken enchiladas she enjoyed her meal however the mango and the lime margaritas were missing tequila at least the glass was big it was supposed to be a "special kind" I guess it was special because it was missing liquor & flavor! read more

My family loves this place!! We are California natives so we know good Mexican food. This is the closest we have found on the Westbank. Pretty standard Mexican fare, a solid 3.5 stars. They do have a pretty big, discounted, lunch menu which warrants the bump to 4 stars. Service can be a little spotty, but also nothing to complain about. This location is pretty convenient to everything on the Westbank, which could explain our regularity here. read more

This was our first visit tonight and guaranteed not our last. We visited because of a BOGO coupon. They started our dinner with house-made salsa that had the perfect mix of sweet, heat and lime. The food was fresh and delicious. Huge portions. I am a big guy and I eat well but I had to get a go box. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, friendly, prompt and professional. LTA is clean as a restaurant can be, it's cozy and comfortable. They have a 2 man mariachi band and football by the bar. The doors were opened for us and we felt appreciated by all of the staff we came in contact with. Thank you for a very pleasant Saturday evening and we will see you soon. read more

This is one of my favorite spots. The staff is always helpful and friendly. This is definitely my comfort food place. It's always very clean when I come which always a plus. If you're a football fan the tvs are usually tuned in. My go to here is the steak quesadilla with rice and beans. read more
