So we have lived in Cedar Hill for 7 yrs and have driven by this place a hundred times and always remarked that we should try it. Tonight we finally did and it was excellent! We shared an order of mixed fajitas-beef, chicken and shrimp. The shrimp was big and delicious as was the beef and chicken too. We arrived a bit early so our Margaritas were BOGO. Chips we're tasty as and the Salsa was the best I have had in years. Portion size was good but we took nothing home. Service was excellent as our waitress was very attentive and responsive. Yummy food, and Danny was an excellent server. My husband and I passed by here Friday night and saw that it was packed, so we decided to come for a late lunch, 3:30pm and there was only one table available! I ordered the #42 basically Enchiladas Banderas; a red sauce, cheese, sour cream chicken, and green sauce chicken enchilada. Very good! My hubby got the Enchiladas Texanas and was pleased. I think the food is good, but there are a lot of hidden fees. They charge for extra chips and drinks. Plus if you go for brunch, they charge extra after a certain time. Not sure I would go again. read more

I was very surprised after having breakfast here. I judged a book by its cover by thinking that, since this establishment was attached to a gas station, the food would not be sub par. I was mistaken. I had the Menudo and (so far) it's the best that I've found in the Cedar Hill/Duncanville area. The tripe was nice and firm and was accompanied by plenty of hominy and flavor. The coffee, the chips, and the salsa we're pretty good. The staff was excellent and very attentive. The ambience inside the restaurant was very nice. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Hole in the wall with great food. I was a bit concerned when I discovered it was connected to a gas station on my first visit, but I go all the time now and have not had an unpleasant experience. Great salsa, not too chunky, not too hot. They offer 6 kinds of meat in the burritoes. You can go back day after day and try something new in burrito form. I have visited this place in the past and enjoyed the food, the service not so much. It's been about a month since my last visit here and I had a craving for some caldo de Rez, so I decided to visit again along with two guests. I immediately noticed something different when I entered. They actually had a host greet us which is not typical but welcomed. After being sat our server was very prompt, once again something that didn't happen in the past. Our drink order was taken and brought to us along with chips and salsa. The server then took or order and was very attentive during our entire visit. When the caldo was brought out, the flavor was amazing and full of flavor. This new way of operating was definitely something I was not used to at this place but I am so happy they have made some changes here where they are putting the customers first and keep us wanting to return to receive great service. I noticed server all new faces in the restaurant all of which did a great job taking care of us. Great job Tapatios!! For a hole in the wall, this place is pretty am-m-mazing! They're guacamole is very good and you can tell it's made fresh to order. I've heard good things about the enchiladas. Their shrimp with poblano sauce is very good. It comes with a generous portion of shrimp perfectly cooked in a mild poblano sauce with caramelized onions. Oddly, the shrimp plate comes with french fries and lots of toasted bread. Oh, and they've got horchata which is a plus. On some occasions though, the horchata tastes different. The location seems to be in an odd place, a gas station to be exact. There seems to be a trend with delicious mexican food and gas stations but I'm not complaining since these little places seem to be the best. Wish Los Tapatios were closer to me. Yes, it's connected to a gas station but we didn't go in expecting a candlelit restaurant. The service was friendly, we sat right down and there was little wait for drinks and chips. The food did take a bit to get to us after we ordered, but we quickly realized that was because it was just made and hadn't been sitting out ready to go for hours before hand. I don't know where the bland/gross comments are coming from except maybe that they're very old reviews and things have changed. I had the beef fajita salad and it was great. The meat was tender and flavorful and it was a huge portion. My husband had the beef enchiladas with carne guisada and it was delicious too. Very tender. The price was a bit steep for lunch (about $30ish with tip) but not horrible. I only wish they had some lunch options, since the portions are so big and dinner priced..but that's really my only complaint. We will definitely be back. read more

It amazes me that there's so many Mexican restaurants around here that have no flavor no tase this was a horrible restaurant I had to ask for a bunch of different sauce just the flavor the food and I usually take leftovers home and I just left that there I didn't even take that home to my dogs read more

So I usually do not write reviews, but this is a must! So my gf and I were chillin in Uptown when we decide we had to get something to eat. So we are the type to try something diff especially since our favs are so far away. So we Yelp.com it of course ...we came across this place we read the reviews and the reviews seemed good... The reason I gave this restaurant two stars because like the other ppl said the salsa was really good. I like how they had a wide variety of choices and pictures in the menu. My gf got the breakfast tacos and I got two chicken tacos and one pastor thinking they would be like Fuel City tacos silly me right my tacos came with just the meat then she tells me their is no green chives so my taco mos def dint look like the pic.My gf breakfast tacos she said were ok. So to the person who said they had the best chips has got to be kidding me....taco bueno has better chips then they do.overall that is the fastest meal we didn't even eat. This restaurant inspired me to create a yelp account. The food is fine, service isn't anything good or bad just straight order taking. However, on two occasions I ordered a margarita on the rocks and two times I was given straight margarita mix. You couldn't smell any tequila, you could not taste the slightest trace of tequila. Both times I paid the drinks but this last time I will not be returning. I work at a restaurant, I actually bartend, and I would never do that to a customer. I work too hard for my money and I wouldn't want anybody else to waste their money either so I hope this helps at least one person. read more

Worst Mexican restaurant ever! Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.if you ask the waitresses anything they look at you with the stupidest faces. I ordered the nachos, you can tell they microwave the cheese on the nachos which for $10 is ridiculous! They didn't have three different types of beer. Very unprofessional place. Don't go here! You will regret it. The on the border across the parking lot is unfortunately better, I don't know how this place is still in business read more
