I see why people rave about this place. The reviews are not kidding when they said the portions are huge. I was hungry and got 3 tacos but could barely finish 1.5 tacos because they LOAD the meat. The tacos are authentic and the place is packed, so definitely a favorite spot as highlighted in all the reviews. Also, the topics are SO cheap.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Franklin and it is not close. Delicious every time nice people working. A++++

Was visiting from Southern California for a few weeks and was dying for some authentic Mexican/Taqueria food. Found this place and it legit. You know it's good when many of the customers are Hispanic. I had the carnitas burrito and my wife had two street tacos - on chicken one carnitas. If you're looking for ambience, don't come here. If you're looking for great authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices, this is the place.

These are some of the best tacos I've had in the Nashville area, hands down. They're way cheaper than the fancy places (looking at you Bartaco and Bakersfield) and just as good. You won't find the high-falutin' options here, and it's seriously like a grocery-store-meets-cafeteria ambiance. It's 99% construction workers grabbing a delicious meal. You walk in, get in line for food, load up on fixins, then pay at the register. Just keep it moving. Knowing a bit of Spanish helps. I got three different tacos plus rice, and every. single. one. was delicious. I still think about them and salivate. Los Primos has ZERO frills. You don't come here for the ambiance; it sits in the strip mall with Goodwill and Dollar General. You come here for the food. Some of my coworkers have had some bubbly tummies after eating here, because there's some grease involved. But a few of us maintain that it's worth it because it's delicious, just tougher on sensitive tummies that can't handle the goods.

We highly recommend Los Primos Mexican Restaurant & Bakery! We recently moved to the Franklin area and this is now our go to spot for authentic tacos and the best Mexican bakery items in town. They also have a great market with all the essentials you need for groceries. The restaurant, bakery, and market is the trifecta for Los Primos and we look forward to returning many more times in the future. Keys Family

Superb across the board! There are so many choices. Don't go through the line if you're vegetarian, you won't find much! Thankfully I'm a huge meat eater and had three succulent tacos--al pastor, carnitas, and a spicy beef. They are only 2 bucks a piece, so I got a tamale too. You have to try here!

Not some run of the mill Tex mex, if you're looking for that grow up. This is a true Taqueria. All flavor no bullshit.

I went with the Hogwood Sampler which comes with chicken, sausage, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, plus mac-n-cheese on the side. All in it was $27.89 plus tax, which feels like pretty fair market value for the amount and quality of food you're getting. The food itself was incredible. Way too many barbecue places lean way too hard on sauce to do the heavy lifting. That is not the case here. Every single meat had deep, legit smoky flavor on its own and honestly didn't even need sauce. That said, the sauces were also excellent. The Alabama white paired perfectly with the chicken, and the spicy tomato-based red sauce had a great kick without overpowering anything. Drink selection was another pleasant surprise. They've got Coke products and Tractor Organic Beverages. I mixed their unsweet tea with the Tractor mango and made myself a mango tea that worked way better than it had any right to. If I had to nitpick, the side selection is a little limited for my personal taste. I'm always hoping for fries or hush puppies, though to be fair that's not uncommon for BBQ joints around here. I also ran into a sticky spot on the table that clearly hadn't been fully wiped down from a previous guest. That said, the food was good enough that it still lands as a five-star experience for me. Hogwood BBQ is an excellent choice if you're looking for seriously good barbecue in Franklin.

I went with the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, 2 sides: Slaw and the Potato Salad. They have white sauce available at the "drink station", otherwise traditional BBQ sauces on the table. Sandwich was great, I always put a bit of slaw on my BBQ and added some white sauce. It was delicious! Slaw is vinegar based and includes a bit of kale, it is fine. But the Rosemary Potato Salad was really good! Just a bit of bacon in there too to complete the flavors. Others enjoyed the Hatch Green Chili Grits which is a nice take on traditional grits. Staff was super friendly and as we sat around the table, they came over to our table after lunch asking if we wanted a mini Moon Pie to complete the meal! Of Course! Restaurant is neat and clean, good BBQ option and the sides make it!

The place is actually a Mercado. Half of the building it more like a Hispanic 7-11. At the back is a meat market with various cooked meats (carnitas, barbacoa, etc.) that you can have on tortas (sandwiches) or tacos. There is also a salsa bar, with around 6 different salsas, cilantro, limes, and onions. If you want something to drink, you grab from the cooler and you pay for your meal(s) when you leave. This is an authentic central Mexican style joint. The first time I was there, the carnitas were a bit dry, but everything has been on point since then. I love the variety of salsas, although my friend felt every one was a bit too spicy (wimp?). We were greeted right away by the owner and seated in a comfortable booth in the back. The space offers a nice mix of tables, booths, and bar seating. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the start. After we ordered, she brought out a basket of biscuits, three for the two of us, which was a bit curious, but no complaints here. The second basket came soon after the first. They were light, slightly sweet, and really good. For my entrée, I went with the Louisiana Bayou Shrimp with Crawfish with a side of corn. Wow, great flavor with just the right amount of kick, and they didn't skimp on the shrimp or crawfish. Portion size was spot on. My wife kept it a bit more traditional with the Southern Fried Chicken Salad, which was fresh and very well done. Safe to say, we won't wait another 30 years to come back. I've already got my eye on the blueberry cobbler next time. If you live in Franklin, don't make the same mistake we did, give this place a try sooner rather than later. Cheers!
