Flavorful Mexican food, served piping hot! This food is prepared with some attention to detail and quality of ingredients so I recommend it pretty highly. Parking lot in the shopping plaza where this spot is located is a little tight and was crowded on a Sunday afternoon. But I lucked into a spot right out front. A little taken aback when I entered and most of the tables needed to be bused. It did look like a huge party had just finished, and the place was pretty clean by the time I left, but that was off-putting. Made me wonder if they were short-staffed or something. The soda dispenser lacked carbonation for the drinks. That was a bummer. They seemed to be working on it, and I suspect it was a transitory problem. But I felt ripped off. For typically high price of a soda, to get flat pop was not cool. Ambiance was very appropriate with Spanish language television and some nice art of Mexican farming scenes on the walls. The paintings were in a very interesting folk style which was remarkable - so I am remarking on it! Now for the good stuff - and the most important stuff - the food. Got a few chips when I placed my order. They were fresh and the salsa was flavorful. Even the mild had some interesting flavor to it. I had the tacos el Presidente (or something like that) which was the daily special. two tacos fairly full of shrimp, cheese and green pepper on a platter with rice, good refried beans and some guacamole. Although it was Sunday and i was expecting either a Menudo or Postole on the menu they only offer Menudo but they ran out! There are many items on the menu. I had the chicken sopes. They were huge! I was only able to eat 1/2 of one. The chicken was a little bland but all the toppings helped. It also came with a side of rice and beans. The rice had to much condiments i would say it was ok. Food is great but service is very hit or miss. I have gone 5x and twice they literally forgot to fill my order.

I had honestly wanted to get a chicken salad elsewhere, but the restaurant didn't have it so I looked through my phone for Mexican cuisine for quite awhile before deciding to go here. My S.O. works somewhat nearby and I remembered we had gone here once so I figured we could try it again. My hubby is very partial to chili rellenos but when I called to make the order (so I wouldn't have to wait) I was told they had none at this time. I hung up with them to ask him what to do then and he said he'd take the chili verde plate instead. They did listen and really followed my instructions when I asked for no salsa and to please have these guacamole on the side. Speaking of the guacamole, it was pretty dang good in my opinion. It had flavor unlike the last kind I had tried, and it wasn't overly crowded by onions and tomatoes. I DID forget to ask for the crispy shell, so that's on me. The taco lengua that I got for my husband seemed to also be a big hit. Our little one had no problem eating the meat. As far as I know my husband seemed to like his food also. I gave 2 stars primarily because their crispy tacos aren't made on spot and the steak was bland. Being in healthcare I also didn't like the fact that employees were handling clean trays dirty trays, preparing food and touching tickets without wearing gloves. I didn't see a single employee that was handling money then handling food wash their hands between steps. If I owned this establishment I would have front and back crews, front crew handles orders, money and clearing tables; back crew cooks and prepares trays. They don't crossover therefore you avoid contamination. The place was fairly busy and the staff was friendly and personable. This is not a great Mexican restaurant. The meat is very dry and lacks good flavor. Inside of the restaurant isn't very clean either. I wouldn't recommend heading here unless you don't have many other options for lunch. The one positive thing I found about this place is that their salsa actually tasted really good. Gosh I love this place so good and the staff is so friendly! I really love the bacon and egg burrito so good and tasty! The cook Juan really knows how to cook a good meal I highly recommend the Molcajete it's a big bowl with chicken steak and shrimp and nopales with very tasty sauce it's so good with flour tortillas and it feeds 2 people so bring a freind. The fried fish is also AMAZING. Also the grilled chicken tacos with cheese cilantro and spicy salsa are to die for oh my gosh there so good my mouth is watering as I type this! The hard taco we ordered was completely filled with meat, barely any sour cream or guacamole, and a pile of Lettuce hiding the disgraceful food. A drunk patron who I'm assuming was thier cousin begin to take pictures and commenting what a great job of giving A shitty food in Spanish. I understand Spanish, completely understood the disrespectful communications going on. After a brief argument they gave us our money back and we did not take one bite. They had a lot of Caucasian patrons coming in, if they knew what they were saying about them they might not ever go back. Decided to try Los Pinos out. Went for there version of chilaquiles. Not what I was used to. I didnt want the rice or beans that came with it but rather have a full plate of chips, chicken and sauce. I have enjoyed this little spot for a few years - they have very consistent service and quality. I only order their tacos and hit up the salsa bar. On Saturday morning my husband made the mistake of asking what I wanted for breakfast. It was almost 11 am, and I responded tacos. We were near Los Pinos so we stopped in, even though I could tell it was NOT what he wanted for breakfast. I ordered two veggie tacos (soft) and he had 3 carnitas, which he ordered well-done, hoping for crispy meat. We both started with our own basket of chips. The salsa bar has fresh limes (and lemons) and pickled jalapeno/onions, and 4 different salsas. Usually I really enjoy their salsa, but it was really watered down this time. All of them except the tomato/marinara-like one. The salsa verde and the hot salsa were both like water. They also have a pico de gallo that's okay, but I was pretty disappointed with the hot. (Chips were good though!) My two veggie tacos were beautifully made though and made up for the salsa. Husband had 3 soft shells that were kind of crispy, but soggy meat, so perhaps they misunderstood his special request. This review is specifically for my experience with ordering a "take-out." I called around 10:30 AM for a pick up at 11:15 AM but the lady who spoke to me over the phone told me to call back to place my order because if she puts in my order now, it will be made. I didn't understand why she couldn't communicate the information to the cook to delay it until 11:15. I called 30 minutes later to place the order. The lady who I spoke with earlier picked up again and when I was done placing the order she repeated my order back to me (she repeated the order back 4 times and still couldn't get my order correctly). I finally broke it down word for word and that was when she finally said "oh! right. I heard you earlier. I just wanted to confirm." Upon walking in the cook greeted me kindly and asked if I was the one who ordered the 2 carne asada burritos. I told him yes and he directed me towards the salsa bar and kindly said "feel free to grab whatever salsa you want." The only downside to seeing how the food was made was seeing the counter where the carne asada meat was sitting on the corner of the grill with a place cover it. It seems like the meat was sitting there all morning. I shrugged it off. Normally the food is delicious and the service is great. It had been a year since I had been here and I was craving shrimp tacos so decided to order them from here since the other stuff I have ordered has been great . To say the least the food I ordered was utterly disgusting. Never have I had a shrimp taco that only had bell peppers, wilted lettuce and sautéed onions. No sauce, no limes, no sour cream or anything of taste was on these tacos. For almost $6 a piece I definitely would expect more than just sautéed onions and bell peppers with three shrimp on my taco. Those shrimp would have been better off staying in the sea. And do not even get me started on the chips now! The chips were stale beyond believe and flavorless. Food is definitely not up to par anymore and I will not be returning. I rated one star just because the staff was at least nice. read more

I Just want to warn anyone who orders online not expect to get their order or have it looked at until you arrive. I placed an order online around 4:45 PM on a Friday. Their website said they were open and so did their Yelp page. I received a confirmation email that it would be ready at 5:08 PM. Went to pick it up a few minutes early and the lights were off and the employees sitting at the tables just looked at me and turned their heads. I tried to tell them I placed an order but was ignored. When I got home the charge was already on my bank account. About a week later my son placed an online order after calling to confirm they were opened. He arrived at the time it was to be ready but they hadn't even looked at their online orders and he had to wait for them to get the fairly large order together. The food has gone downhill from what it used to be. I would suggest they make some changes and improvements or they'll continue to lose customers. They need to close their online services if they are unable to fulfill them. Very disappointed to say the least! read more

Decent size for what i paid for & they put plenty of meat in it so it was worth the price. However, the steak was overcooked & lacked flavor in the food. Plus, the chips at the bottom had already become soggy by the time i ate it. I only live down the street & i consumed this as soon as i got home so idk how it got soggy so fast! I asked for extra chips on the side & they were stale! They were probably sitting out all day. Just naaaasty. What really got to me was the scent of the place..IT SMELLED LIKE URINE! I couldnt stand the scent of this place & the condiment bar was just so dirty! The salsa bar was not well maintained, the tongs in the jalapenos was soaking in the sauce, and there was tables that hadnt been cleaned. Disgusting!
