I had a difficult time getting fresh fruit that wasn't overripe. But the shrimp dish was great. The staff was pretty efficient. visited this place during my week-long stay last week, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When we arrived, I politely asked our waitress if she could wipe down the dirty table, but she seemed annoyed and visibly upset, huffing and puffing about it. I also asked to use the restroom and was told it wasn't working due to a lack of running water -- which immediately raised concerns about hygiene. We ordered four simple sandwiches (just ham, cheese, and egg) and waited patiently. After some time, we noticed that other guests -- including larger groups who arrived after us -- were being served, while we were still waiting. After both my mom and I asked about our food, we were told it was still being prepared. We ended up waiting over an hour with no food and finally left without eating. I also asked how dishes were being washed without water, and the waitress simply stared at me with no response. The service was rude and disorganized. The food was outstanding! I ordered the stuffed avocado with garlic chicken. There was so much food on my plate, I took the left overs to the hotel for a second meal. I wish I could say the same for the service, hence the 3 stars, our server decided to take her dinner break right after she took our order. There was not a server in sight to assist us. I had to go to the bar asking for a second glass of water, a to go box and the bill. I have to say when we go back we will eat there again. For the amount of food and the quality it was a good value. We had a party of six and we all ate very well and everyone took food home. The appetizer was absolutely amazing with a true spread of wonderful Puerto Rican food. As you can see in the pictures attached to this post there was no shortness nor anything small about everything served to us. The service was wonderful and the owners came out and greeted us and ensured we had an excellent meal. Our drinks were always refilled promptly. They have a great selection of local cervezas to choose from. I had the Ocean blood orange cerveza. As we dined we overlooked the terrace surrounded by huge beautiful pine trees and of course beautiful Puerto Rico . Music played in the background adding to the ambiance of the evening. Such a memorable experience from the moment of arrival until we left. Out of our whole trip to the enchanted island, this was the best of the best in all aspects. It may be a little difficult to find by Google maps but asking a local, they knew exactly what we were looking for! We will definitely return without a doubt! My husband and I were looking for a place with octopus salad. We saw this place was 3 blocks from our rental car drop off location. So walked over looked at the menu wasn't impressed. We asked the waitress about the octopus salad she said she did have it. So we sat down and ordered. We were a little nervous, didn't know what to expect. The place was empty on Wednesday evening. Went to eat here with my wife and brother in law. As soon as we walked in I saw a huge cockroach scurry across the floor. The restaurant is pretty open (open doors in the front and back) so I didn't think much of it. We proceeded to order our drinks than waited a total Of 45 mins. We requested our food numerous times and they said it was coming or they would repeat our order as if they were gonna start making it and needed to verify before they start. I decided it was time to leave and as we were walking out. A female staff member told my wife and I that we were only waiting 10 mins. I proceeded to show her the timer I had set and she went silent. Then began getting frustrated and told us to "never come back". If you want to have horrible service and a disgusting restaurant that's fine, but then to go out of your way to gaslight my family and I into believing we were not waiting for 45 mins is actually insane. Wow the food here is so good! The empanadas were so hot and fresh and seasoned perfectly- the chicken and the beef were both delicious. The mofongo was out of this world, probably the best I've ever had so far. Super soft and just the right amount of garlic. The carne frita was seasoned so perfectly and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and the pieces were big and full of meat instead of too much fat. We had a chicken empanada, the crab mofongo, and a side of rice and beans. It did take some time for our food to come out so just be prepared for a wait. However it was totally worth it. The mofongo was smooth, buttery, and garlicky. The best I've ever had. I've had chicken, beef, or shrimp mofongos in the past but never crab and it's definitely my new favorite.
