We took a look at the menu then got in line to order. I ended up opting for some chicken nachos. Whilst waiting, my mom and I ordered some jarritos. They're in a big cooler and you pick out which flavor you want. We took a seat at one of the tables whilst waiting. After a few short minutes, our food arrived. It was very delicious! There was a generous amount of toppings on my nachos. The chicken itself was grilled but not dry. The tortilla chips were very crunchy and tasted like they were made in house. Overall, I had an efficient experience at Highway Tacos but a delicious one. Would recommend it if you want to check them out!

You can smell all the delicious meat being grilled as soon as you pull up. They have some specialty tacos that include guacamole, queso fresco and crema that typical street tacos don't include. I tried the Pollito Asadito ($5) with chicken, queso fresco, pico de gallo, crema, guacamole, cilantro, onion and salsa. Bomb! I also got the Casero with flour tortilla, chicharrón prensado, beans, pico de gallo, cheese, guacamole and salsa. The chicharrón prensado is uniquely made here and flavorful, like chorizo. Their corn tortillas are made in house and are so fluffy! Their salsas are so good too! I loved the creamy orange one, which may have been made with pepitas (pumpkin seeds). Shared al pastor nachos with my friends and it was loaded with cheese, guac, beans, pico de gallo, crema and queso fresco. The al pastor was pretty fatty and chewy. My friends liked the street tacos, 3 for $10! They also liked the Calabazita, the zucchini tacos with jalapeño, onion and queso fresco. The orders came out quick too. Highway Taco served as a great pit stop between Solvang and our stay in Santa Ynez!

Such a fun little family adventure!…read more We decided to visit when we saw that the apricots were in season and you could pick your own. I had also been wanting to check out the distillery ever since I discovered them at a wine festival, so this was the perfect excuse to finally make the trip. The little farm is SO cute! They provide food so you can feed the pigs, turtle, and goats, which our kids absolutely loved. Everyone was so welcoming, and the property itself was beautiful and really nice to walk around. After visiting the animals, we walked out to the apricot trees to pick our allowed 5 pounds. The apricots were AMAZING! So fresh, juicy, and sweet. My son loved them so much that he still asks when we can go back for more. He had such a great time picking them and eating them! Of course, we couldn't visit without trying the distillery too. We ordered a sampler of their liqueurs, which was really good, and I ended up ordering a cocktail afterward that was AMAZING. This was such a great experience for both the kids and adults. Between feeding the animals, picking fresh apricots, walking around the property, and enjoying the distillery, there was something for everyone. We will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend visiting, especially when the apricots are in season

We all enjoyed our tastings, but naturally, a few fan favorites leaned heavily toward the liqueurs. The apricot was sweet summer sunshine in a glass, the coffee the most delightfully rich wake up call, the quince a surprising cozy, fall-essence in a glass, and my personal fave, the Victus Amaro - a magical immediate transportive experience straight to Italy. Each tasting is $25 for 3, including a cocktail of your choice. Sarah, the owner, was a font of info as she shared how the magical process of distillation occurs to become the taster in hand and wonderful cocktail in your glass. It was wonderful to hear that fruit is grown and harvested on property. It's apparent to see how passionate and excited she was to share their creations with us. Really, each taste is a story, where we got the happily ever after ending in a glass. The outdoor area was relaxing, and we enjoyed our drinks chatting away surrounded by beautiful rolling hills. And, pigs! And goats! And veggies to toss their way! Thanks so much for such a truly delightful experience!
