The apple varieties offered change over the season as they become ripe. When out of season, the stand is closed. When the stand is open, an apple flag flies along Alamo Pintadato so you can see it as you drive along. Mr. Dittmar was not there last Friday, but thankfully the apples were. We picked up two large bags each of Pink Ladies and Granny Smiths. The large bags are $10, small bags $5. The barrel of seconds was empty. When Mr. Dittmar is not there, you pay by the honor system, dropping cash into a can. Many of the old farm stands and pick your own crops in the SYV are long gone. We are so grateful that Dittmar's hangs in there. The apples are so crisp and tasty, we usually eat one on the way home and so fresh that they last weeks in our refrigerator.

But bc there were only 2 scones left and we wanted more , Tracy was kind enough to put some more in the oven for us. We left were a couple bags of goodies - the homemade pop tarts with fresh made jam, Scottish cream scones, lemon poundcake and shortbread cookies. All were delish! So i turned my diet around to be based on fresh veggies, fruits lean protein and whole grains with healthy fats and lower carb. Their quality and prices are insane now and not worth what they are charging and a lot of their produce is imported from mexico and other countries a lot of the time which is a no no we live in the Ag hub of the country! So when i found Talley i loved that they only have local produce, Fresh picked, organic and in season! And i must say my god the difference in taste of farm fresh produce cannot be compared to store bought!! Even with something as simple as grapes right off the vine GASM!! Gorgeous fruits and veggies from this awesome group of farms!! They are the sweetest people!! They respond quickly to your emails and every delivery is correct! They send recipes and ideas for what your box will contain every week which i Love!! You can also replace things you don't want with other items or extra of something. You can also add additional in season fruits, veggies herbs etc from the available list in your email. I needed extra lettuces for my guinea pigs one week and she graciously replaced my cauliflower with tons of beautiful red little gem lettuces!!! I know most people don't get excited about produce but i'm telling you when i open my boxes from them i'm excited as hell Lol!! I am gushing about them because i truly believe they've got something great here and i'm so thankful i found out about them! We arrived on a Saturday afternoon. The olive oil tasting farm is located in a nice neighborhood area in downtown Los Olivos. There is parking accessible in the back parking lot and limited parking next to the olive oil tasting area and boutique shop. As soon as we parked and headed to the olive oil tasting area, we were greeted by a very friendly and hospitable staff member. I appreciated all the information she told us about the property and instructions about the olive oil tasting experience. Their complimentary olive oil tasting was unique and unlike any other olive oil tasting I had ever done before. There were 10 different olive oils to taste from. You are given a freshly made sourdough bread slice to go along with a tray with a menu sheet of all the olive oils. Some of the olive oils that stood out to me were the white truffle, garlic, and Italian honey. We were then encouraged to explore the rest of the property where there was a charcuterie cart, pottery vendor, and complimentary wine tasting on the other side of the premises. This enhanced our olive oil tasting experience even more. The rest of the property was beautiful as there were a lot of tables and chairs for guests to enjoy. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Olive + Lavender Farms. The staff were nice and accommodating. The vibe was relaxing and inviting.
