Wow! What a great spirit-tasting experience! Between the 7 of us tasters, we worked our way pretty much across, through, and around the menu. We all enjoyed our tastings, but naturally, a few fan favorites leaned heavily toward the liqueurs. The apricot was sweet summer sunshine in a glass, the coffee the most delightfully rich wake up call, the quince a surprising cozy, fall-essence in a glass, and my personal fave, the Victus Amaro - a magical immediate transportive experience straight to Italy. Each tasting is $25 for 3, including a cocktail of your choice. Sarah, the owner, was a font of info as she shared how the magical process of distillation occurs to become the taster in hand and wonderful cocktail in your glass. It was wonderful to hear that fruit is grown and harvested on property. It's apparent to see how passionate and excited she was to share their creations with us. Really, each taste is a story, where we got the happily ever after ending in a glass. The outdoor area was relaxing, and we enjoyed our drinks chatting away surrounded by beautiful rolling hills. We stopped here and tried flights of their three spirits that included a cocktail. We chose flavors that ranged from Yuzu-infused, Bourbon, Strawberry, Expresso and other flavored spirits. We were pleasantly surprised by their complex yet refreshing spirits and appreciated that we were able to bring some snacks to pair with the alcohol. The gentleman who served us was very friendly and knowledgeable on the history of the distillery as well. A great first experience here. read more

First time visitors. Hubby is a big bourbon drinker so we found this place online while visiting Solvang. What a gem! Sarah was warm, welcoming and very kind. We loved the relaxed atmosphere, and animal watching was great entertainment. The tasting is generous: choice of three plus a full cocktail. The quince liqueur was a major hit, with the apricot a close second. So of course we had to get both. A great place to give spirit lovers a unique find. No food was served. The spirits served during our tasting, that was a great experience. The service was fantastic, the owner told us the history of how 12 rock distillery came about. I loved hearing the story and the locals, raved about how much they love coming to the tastings, how long they've been coming. I love the dedicated customers, they are the added flavors to the restaurant that makes it more interesting to come back. The Ambiance, is so pretty, the scenery of the mountains and the grape vines and the beautiful barn of the vineyard next door. The country feel, yet vibrant feel. We'll be back, were now members of the distillery. That should tell you how good it is, if you come in as a customer to just taste, and leave a member of the distillery to taste monthly spirits. read more

What an amazing hidden gem! We stopped by Rock 12 Distillery on the recommendation of someone at Roblar, and we're so glad we did. The spirits here are uniquely delicious each tasting was a treat and we ended with a custom cocktail that was absolutely perfect. What made it even better was how family-friendly the experience was. Our kids had a blast feeding the goats and pigs while we enjoyed the tasting. Truly something for everyone. Can't recommend it enough! read more

We have been wanting to try Rock 12 since it opened and as Santa Barbara's only field to glass distillery, it did not disappoint! The first thing you see when you park is the farm animals - the cutest baby goats and piglets - so sweet! The tasting room looks out onto the little barn and has gorgeous views. There were some bar stools inside but how can you resist patio seating in a gorgeous day! We tried the tasting menu and everything was so unique and flavorful, plus o love that all of the fruit is grown onsite, from vodka made out of grapes to the apples in the brandy and quince made into a delicious liqueur. We took home a bottle of the Coffee Liqueur (espresso martinis) and Quince Liqueur for a new take on hot toddy's. They also have a specialty cocktail menu that we'll be back to try soon! read more

Really unique and cool experience at Rock 12! This boutique distillery is situated in a rustic farm setting in the middle of wine country (Santa Rita Hills). We made an appointment and visited mid week...it was quiet and we basically had a private tasting with Marko who is the Distiller and partner with his wife Sarah. In addition to all of the interesting spirits that they make: Gin, Vodka, Quince Brandy just to name a few, they also craft super cool cocktails! All the fruit and other ingredients are actually grown and produced on the farm. Highly recommend packing a picnic lunch and stopping in for a cocktail or spirits tasting while out in wine country. Highly suggest calling ahead for reservations. 10/10 experience! read more

I have driven by the spot so many times and finally got to try it today! We went in on a Saturday at 1:30 and it was easy to immediately access the bar/ snag a table and sit down. The bartender helping us today is one of the owners and her husband makes all of the alcohols. She was so friendly and answered all of our questions. They have some really unique options. The tasting is $15 and allows you to try 3 different alcohol options and then choose a cocktail. I tried the Serrano vodka, hibiscus vodka, and coffee liqueur. I ended up choosing the hibiscus mule for my cocktail and it was so good! I was able to taste the Quince, which my husband sampled and then ordered the Quince Toddy cocktail with. It was so incredibly good. Highly recommend. We ended up taking a bottle home with us. The setting is gorgeous sitting amongst the hills and amidst farms. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back! Their tables are only outside, so plan accordingly if needed! read more

This is an amazing addition to the area! We called 10 mins before closing to see if they could accommodate us as we saw it when driving past and they said yes, come in, we would love to host you! The owners were pouring and were so friendly! The tasting was awesome followed by craft drinks. We all bought a bottle (or 2), scheduled a return in a few days with our whole group and a return with a very large group in a few weeks- all for staying open an extra 30 mins and being amazing! The coffee & quince were my favs, but honestly all of the tasters were great- even the gin for this non gin drinker! I first learned of Rock 12 Distillery through the Speakers Series at Casa Dumetz. Sarah and Marco were incredible and I learn so much. I was excited to check out the Distillery itself and went with my two friends. We did a tasting with Marco, he is very personable and shared his knowledge made us feel right at home, the grow much of the fruit on site or source it locally. All of the spirits we tasted were incredible!! We tried the vodka, gin, coffee liquor and Quince liquor, amazing!! After you do your tasting you can order a craft cocktail off the seasonal cocktail menu. We each ordered a different drink so we could share and taste a variety. We had the spicy pineapple, espresso martini and bee's knees. The cocktails were served in beautiful vintage coupe glasses. The Distillery itself is incredible, you can see the gorgeous handmade copper stills, the beautiful wood bar and amazing views!! Marco and Sara have done an incredible job! They offer a bottle membership club, similar to a wine club which of course I had to join! One would have to be crazy not to! I am looking forward to going back!
