The restaurant is nice, clean and has good vibe. The the hostess are amazing, the chef in the back are doing their thing and the food is delicious. The chips had a great balance with assault and the buttery flavor. The tortillas or fresh and crispy. The salsa served with the chips has a kicked to it but nothing overpowering. It was one of my favorites. I had to put it on everything! You can taste the beer batter on the fish tacos, which were excellent. The amount of cabbage and pico on top was absolutely perfect and plentiful! Great with the red salsa! The guacamole and onions on the adobada and tender meat were a perfect combo! Love how they have a bar, music playing and tv for one's viewing pleasure. I'll definitely be back and so glad this is near my neighborhood! Keep up the great work Los Mexas! Stopped in for a quick bite before the road. Ordered birria tacos, beef rolled tacos and fries. The birri meat was sooooo tender and good. Rolled tacos for being rolled tacos was great, not oily or tasted too fried. Side of fries (for the little one), delicious crisps Clean facilities. Hot sauces, all amazing. I enjoyed a great breakfast plate of Machaca from this Mexican eatery in Casa de Oro, located in Spring Valley. It use to be La Baja Mexican Grill, and has been rebranded as "Los Mexas." The machaca breakfast plate came with rice, beans, and four corn tortillas for $11.99 plus tax. It was a large portion of machaca and it was very tasty. The stewed shredded beef was well seasoned. The eggs were scrambled into the beef and I could not help my self to making breakfast tacos. I tried a trio of hot sauces and they were all very good. I liked the dark red one the best It had good heat and favor. The rice and beans were good, too but were more subtle in flavor. The beans were light in seasoning and the rice was just right. The service was good. It was a one man team when I came in the morning, but the young man made it work. He was friendly, efficient, and check on me to make sure I enjoyed the food. The place offers a bar as well with plenty of inside seating, but no outside seating. read more

When I came in during a weekday, I will admit, it was empty. However, ordering was so simple and very quick! They have a nice open bar on the left side when you walk in, which looks like it would be completely full when there's a game on! I was pleasantly happy when I talked with the guy at the front because when I picked up my food, he asked if it was my first time there. I confirmed and had said that I heard great things about this place - which was true, especially just by looking at the reviews! Because of this, the cashier gave me one of the desserts as complimentary! It was delicious - almost like a churro but in chip form! I ordered the adobada and birria tacos as well as the cheese quesadilla! The adobada tacos were pretty good - I've been trying to find something similar to the ones at tacos el gordo, and can say that they're a bit similar especially with the sauce it has on top. Birria tacos were pretty good according to my dad - they were very filling and the birria sauce to dip the tacos in was pretty flavorful! Cheese quesadilla was just as simple as they can be, nothing really to rave for with this one. The fish taco was amazing. Very delicious and fresh tasting from the sauce and the cabbage. The fish had a nice crunch and neutral taste. I enjoyed the flavor of the 3 fresh house salsas. The green one was savory, the red was a savory spicy, and the orange one for an acidic spice. We also got the adobada burrito. It was huge for just $11.99! Meat, guacamole, onions, (and cilantro). No extra fillers. The adobada was nicely charred and sweet. It reminded me a bit of char siu compared to other places I've had adobada. We only interacted with our cashier during our time there, and he was friendly and helpful. The dining area and restroom were both very clean and there are a lot of open tables for seating. The prices here are great and you get a lot in return. The taco is $4.99 on regular days, but only $1.50 on Tuesdays. I'll be coming back to take advantage of that and trying more of their meats. read more

Ordered the machaca breakfast burrito and it was delicious! I love coming here for their burritos. I found this place randomly and i'm so glad I decided to give it a try. My boyfriend had their machaca burrito as well and he enjoyed it along with their salsa selections. I also tried something new on my most recent visit which was the menudo soup. I loved the meat, but the soup wasn't so flavorful in my opinion. The restaurant is spacious and always plenty of seating when i've come by. I've been here twice, looking for a new taco Tuesday spot. Now even if the food isn't great, unless something is abominable, I'll try it like 3 times with different dishes before I'm like "No way". First visit, nothing to complain about and the tj tacos were way better than a local spot that was closer to home. This was going to be my new spot for me and the fam. Second visit, was Cinco de Mayo, which also happened to be Tuesday.....PERFECT! I went in with the realization that if this place was as good as I thought it was, it was going to be PACKED. So I was already expecting a wait time. But I definitely figured I'd order to go, maybe that would help. Absolutely not. I ordered, got a buzzer and would check every 15-20min at the front to make sure I didn't miss the buzzer or something. The place was packed like crazy so I figured maybe a togo order would work out better. The first time I came up, I was told the buzzer would sound when it was ready, dope sure np. I saw another lady's order go off and thought "yea ok this thing doesn't just light up, it buzzes and whatnot so you for sure know". The second time I came up I was told my order would be ready in 10 minutes. It been about 40 min at this point. I waited 5 more min and then I stayed at the front and actually paid attention. I previously had a sinking feeling like my order was forgotten about or skipped because I could of sworn an SUV parked by me after I had already been waiting and then left before me with their food, I also slightly noticed something with another order but wasn't sure. But now, after this lady said 10 more min I specifically remember this older couple who came after me, like I'm talking just ordered their food after I been waiting for 40 min. Yea well 5 min later this older couple is walking out with their order. So I walked up and asked for a refund, politely. She asked me to hold on while trying to talk to the kitchen again and said it'll be just 3 min. I politely requested a refund, again. She went back to the kitchen and the guy angrily shrugged her off in annoyance and then she finally issued me the refund. I thanked her, said have a good night and left. Yep, I hate that beyond belief. I know it's busy, I tried to make it slightly easier. I waited for over 50 min and even periodically checked to ensure there hasn't been a mixup cuz you know.....it's busy. Just to get skipped over for several orders. And before we even get into the idea of, maybe people ordered on the phone and picked up. SUREEEE RIGHT. As I watched that last older couple come in, browse around, walk up, order and then pay, then walk right out that place minutes later. My money is on that I got not only skipped but ignored. And not that I even needed one or it would have mattered in the end, but no1 even said my bad or apologized, while at the same time, being hesitant to give me a refund... They won't miss me as a customer, that's cool....I guess I must've just pissed them off or something and they aren't afraid to show it. read more

If you like tacos, come here period exclamation point period. Had a trio (carne, carnitas, adobada) my first time. Incredible. Couldn't decide which was best. They bring you a trio of these little house made hot sauce bottles that are each some of the best sauces I've ever had. Second time I got all adobada ($1.50 special, I'm cheap‍), top 5 I've ever had. Today I got a fish and again it was one of the best fish tacos I've ever had. The staff is SUPER friendly and hospitable. I love this place! So close to home, and good quality food. For some reason, it's hard to find a good Mexican restaurant with quality ingredients where I live. This is a small restaurant and yet blows them all out of the water! I absolutely love the breakfast burritos, and my family members have had the birria and adobada tacos, and the carne asada burrito, and they can't get enough! My only caveat is that there is not enough parking during peak times, might need to park on the street. Wait time is usually 30 min for most food. Otherwise, spectacular! read more
