Everything here was REALLY good! The tortilla chips and salsa were pretty mild, but we got the queso and it was AMAZING! They did not skimp either! The chimichangas were also really yummy and there was a lot of food! The margaritas (we got the pitcher special of the day) were really good and they were quite strong too. The restaurant has always been clean and staff has been polite and eager to help you. Food is plated and visually appealing. Taste is unmatched by any other Mexican restaurant in my area. I would recommend the chimichanga-fajita! Huge portion, so be hungry going in. Leftovers for home is almost always. The strawberry margarita is good and also my recommendation. We will NEVER patronize this restaurant again. The only reason it's getting a one, besides I don't know how to give it a zero, is for the decor and the cheese sauce. The employees were not personable nor friendly nor attentive. My husband finally had to stop a waiter going by to ask for our bill, because we didn't know who our actual waiter was. I really did like this place. It was very authentic Mexican food, and at a good price. The seats and tables on the inside are simply gorgeous! Very Mexican decor being so welcoming, and bright ! Our chips and salsa were good, not spicy, so depending on your taste that can be good or bad. If you like spicier I saw they did offer spicier salsa, so just ask for it! The queso dip was good, it'd be better if they put some seasoning in it, or japeños and tomatoes like I've seen at many other spots, but still very good nonetheless. The margaritas? I am only giving this restaurant 2 stars because the food was OK. It was very disappointing to be greeted with "how many?" as you walk in the door. This was standard for all the staff greeting guests. I know this because I sat by the front door. No welcome or anything just "how many?" Then I am asked what I wanted literally before I even sat down. Once I ordered and the food was dqplaced in front of me, I was never approached again. I sat there for 30 minutes and no one asked me if I was OK or needed anything else. I finally had to ask for my check. Worst service I've ever experienced anywhere in my life. Took us 15 minutes to even be greeted by the bartender, then another 15 minutes for her to bring our beers to us.She kept disappearing and after just shy of an hour being there she finally took our order. I was in total shock when I realized that she was totally scattered brained because she was doing shots of tequila behind the bar with customers. She was also upset when she tried to give us shots and we kindly declined them because we have another 2 hours to drive on our road trip home and she found it appropriate to make jokes about us to other customers. My mother and I go here a lot when I visit on weekends. My mom and her sister eat here so much they've jokingly started referring to the staff as their boyfriends. I'll be the first to say I'm a bonafide Mexican food snob. The food here is okay. Not great. But a few menu items are worth trying. The shrimp quesadilla is surprisingly good and their fajitas are tasty. The salsa is very mild but adding the habanero sauce at the table does the trick in spicing it up. Great Mexican restaurant in semi-rural Ohio. The salsa served with chips is extremely mild, but they have Yucatan red and green on the table to spice it up. The menu is wide and varied and has lots of options above and beyond the typical Mexican restaurant, like chilaquiles and and the house special, carne guisada. I got the Camarones a la Diabla, grilled shrimp in a ranchero sauce with pico and rice. Portions are big, shrimp, sauce and pico were excellent and not nearly as bland as the chip salsa. House maragaritas are poor, a generic mix, and overpriced, at $5. The tequila margaritas are quite good and almost the same price. Food is not cheap but not too expensive, dinner runs around $8-10 for an entree. All in all Los Mariachis is a pleasant surprise, great authentic Mexican in Southern Ohio. read more

Seems like there is one of these Mexican restaurants in every small town here in Ohio. We often joke that they must hand you a "mexican restaurant kit" when you cross the border...they all have the same items (even though the preparation may vary from restaurant to restaurant) and even the same numbering on the menu. Sometimes you may have trouble customizing orders due to the language barrier, but the staff at Los Mariachi's is pretty good at getting most of our orders correct. Los Mariachis is a favorite here among the locals and group of my friends gather there for lunch every Thursday. The salsa lacked flavor- it almost seemed like they forgot to add spices or seasonings because it tasted like plain tomato sauce. The queso dip was good and chips were fresh and plentiful. Let me start off that the food is excellent. In my opinion, it's one of the best Mexican restaurants around. The reason I am giving a 3 is due to the poor service. We had to ask for drink refills, boxes and the bill. They didn't bring the food out together. My wife's entree came out 5 minutes later than mine and I had more on my plate. We will be back, just for the good food. Hopefully I can give a 4 or 5 if the service is better. read more

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been too. My husbands and I love going to Mexican restaurant. I wish he was here with me because this place is great. The chips and salsa are even good enough to mention. The chips are the perfect consistency, and believe me, some are not. The salsa was awesome. No heat to it if you like that. The food is pretty close to authentic, always hot and fresh, the service is the best in town and the prices can't be beat. They have a large menu with everything from traditional mexican food to grilled chicken. You can get a filling and delicious dinner for under 9 bucks, lunch for around 5 bucks, plus all of the chips and salsa you can eat. The childrens menu is great too, they have other choices to offer if your kids aren't into mexican food. On Sunday they offer free kids meals with adult entrees, which is really nice. I highly recommend the Enchiladas Rancheras...yummy! Once you try Los Mariachis you'll be hooked! read more
