This little hidden gem in Miami Lakes has some of the most authentic mexican food you can find in the neighborhood. And some of the nicest people. This place has been in business for a very long time and the owner is always there working right along with his staff. He is so helpful and attentive. He's always passing by the tables making sure you have everything you need and truly makes you feel welcomed. The place itself has that old school Mexican feel. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. You feel like you are gonna get one heck of a meal. When you sit at the table you're given chips with 2 different types of salsas. (one very spicy, and one less spicy). Of course we had to get some horchata. And the horchata here is delicious. One of the best ones we've tried! They have amazing tacos! This last time we went I got the carne asada tacos and it was to die for. They are loaded with meat!! Great for the price! It also comes with a side of rice and beans. This is the place to go for a Taco Tuesday or a Mexican Getaway!

Came here since recently moving to Miramar area and was craving some authentic Mexican food. Upon arriving we were greeted by the owner opening the door for us and being so welcoming seating us immediately. The establishment isn't super big so the Resturant was full for a Tuesday night. We were then greeted immediately by our server, who I believe was the owners son, and got our drink and food order in. We ordered the Tacos de Lengua and Taquitos, both of which were delicious. The chips and salsa were also so rich in flavor. We just overall had an amazing experience. We love a good family owned restaurant that actually cares about their customers. Definitely recommend this place for some yummy authentic Mexican food, but also just the feel of the restaurant and service.

Easily my newest favorite Mexican restaurant in south Florida. Deeply authentic food, very flavorful, tastes perfect. Outdoor dining on the patio is easy to procure, even when it's rainy- a very relaxing and calm atmosphere. Service and staff is always attentive and warm and friendly. I love this place. Gotten the California burrito each time I've gone and it's fantastic. Margaritas too.

Best Mexican spot 10/10 - food and service is amazing! If you want real authentic food and a place that makes you feel like your family this is the place to be

Calm Wednesday evening

I was definitely not impressed, unfortunately.... For the drinks we had the Mexican soda (fruit punch) and horchata, which could've been creamier... The steak tacos were ok, edible but not necessarily enjoyable... the chicken nachos... I was not happy with at all... they didn't even look like chicken nachos, I'll have to post the pic but at least the grilled chicken on it was edible. The service was nice And friendly, quick and efficient and it was a very slow night as we were the only guests dining in while there (about an hour) - quiet and nothing stands out overall.

How's the guacamole?

Good, not bad, but definitely missing some lemon juice in there.

The menu is solid and dependable, especially if you're in the mood for Mexican comfort food done right. Portions are generous, flavors are familiar, and everything comes out hot and fresh. The fajitas are a safe bet, the tacos hit the spot, and the margaritas do exactly what they're supposed to do after a long day. Nothing feels overcomplicated, which I actually appreciate here. The vibe is casual and laid-back, very much a locals' place. You'll see families, regulars, and people clearly on a first-name basis with the staff. Service can be a little uneven depending on how busy it is--sometimes super attentive, sometimes a bit slow--but it's friendly and well‑intentioned, which goes a long way. We enjoy coming for birthdays and always enjoy the Mariachi's perform. Overall, Cancun Grill is a reliable Miami Lakes staple. It's the kind of place you go when you want a relaxed meal, a strong margarita, and zero pressure to impress anyone. Not flashy, not fussy--just solid comfort food that keeps you coming back. Definitely will continue to come back.

I had the torta, pork belly and al pastor tacos, and esquites! Definitely not bad but a miss in terms of flavor and quality. The esquites my wife and I could not even finish which is rare! It had such an unusual taste of old and rancid corn. One bite and I could not take another please take caution in ordering that! The tacos were fine and the torta was fine! But again it was lacking a more seasoned meat and salsa that tasted less of peppers and more like salt mixed with salt! Now the service and people save the day! So sweet! So helpful! I hate the way the food was as strange as the people were kind but it was just my experience. The ambiance is clean! Vibrant and classic Miami Latin music playing throughout! I wouldn't rule out coming back! But def would be my 4th choice for food!

The service was just okay and the music too loud for my liking, making it perhaps not ideal for families with children. It was very busy and not necessarily spacious. However, the food is transcendent. Everything that we tried was outstanding, even the chicken nachos and quesadilla. They season and cook everything properly. The beef tacos were fresh and tasty and the quesabirria tacos were even better. Great flavor and balance. What takes this restaurant to an elite level is the mole. It is exquisite and a rare find.

When I looked 20 minutes after at my credit card statement read I had been charged $77 and change pending a potential tip on top of that, even with tip included it is still over approximately $7 what I signed off for. We called to determine the prices of each individual meal and "the manager" was stumbling to tell us the prices for everything. Even with the fake numbers that were given to us it still didn't add up correctly. I remember the prices for the 3 meals my family and I ordered and I remember what the check said. I let it be because maybe they need more than I do. As for the food, I'm born and raised on the border of Mexico and although I must say it does scream authenticity especially on appearance the meat is bland, and that "Mexican rice" is by far the worst tasting rice I've had. For a casual person that likes Mexican food you may like it, but if you know what you're tasting you will not. Also, they didn't have 4 different things on the menu available ultimately leading me to have to go with my 5th option. It is very expensive for what it is, and even more expensive when your waitress manipulates the system.
