A true staple here in Miami Lakes and I've been coming for years. I've also had their catering and it's been delicious. Even the complimentary chips&salsa are sooo yummy. My faves recently have been Mango Margs and Birria Tacos. Service is always 10/10 and it's just an awesome family owned small business. There are plenty of seats and it's also a great place to bring a large group. Parking is convenient since it's located in a large shopping center.

An extraordinary dining experience with my other half. The service was wonderful, the Mexican cuisine didn't disappoint. We really enjoyed our night out and our food that had a lot of flavor, great temperature and an excellent presentation. The music playing was fantastic. All the staff members were kind and hospitable. At the end we had a picture taking that made our dining experience memorable. This is a Mexican gem located in Miami lakes, highly recommended to try their margaritas and tacos.

Came here at the recommendation of some people and it kinda just fell flat. There was nothing particularly special about it (although there should be with those prices). The guacamole was $25 which shocked me considering it was extremely lacking in flavor. The carne asada tacos were good but, again, nothing special. Their Mexican rice contained corn kernels and there is no other version of rice that didn't contain corn so keep that in mind if you happen to have food intolerances (like me) or allergies. The service was, again, nothing particularly great. They were very slow, we had to repeatedly ask for things because they just wouldn't bring them to/would forget. Wasn't the worst Mexican food, but wouldn't run here again.

This has been our favorite for many years with the complimentary chips and salsa and always a pitcher of margaritas. The only downside is parking is ALWAYS difficult to find in front of the restaurant. There is parking in the shopping center but the spaces are way too tight.

This is the original Mexican restaurant in Miami lakes area. Great for family and friends and just a fun exciting night out ! Service was quick once seated and the food came out fresh and delicious. I share some meat and chicken fajitas which it's great for two people , and on the side can't forget the corn ! Looking forward to coming back for some margaritas! Maybe for happy hour when in the area.

Wow wow wow! This place is great! The food was so good and so fresh! The staff were so so sweet. Speedy service. The restaurant was so clean and just a little chilly in there so bring a sweater. If you wanna have great food and a good time please go to Cancun grill!

Not a bad Mexican classic spot for the area. Perfect for group meals, birthdays, or just because. Service is generally standard.

Great place for some Mexican food! Service was lovely and quick! Food was made to order and they have a little bit of everything for anyone. Atmosphere is very joyful and fun especially when they sing you or a loved one happy birthday haha. Our waitress Alejandra was the sweetest, she was very attentive and any questions we had she would answer (: Highly recommend to visit!

It is what it is! An amazing Mexican spot in the Northwest Miami area! I've been going here for a number of years - my ex boss introduced it to me as a quick spot for lunch. It is a sit down restaurant with great prices. It isn't fancy but it is totally clean. They have a pretty broad menu. It is also one of the only spots that I can find in South Florida that serves Mole Chicken - the one made with cocoa sauce. They give you free appetizers of chips and salsa -- and they are happy to replenish it! Their meals are enough to take home an extra serving. Oh and they sing a great Mexican version of Happy Birthday if you are celebrating We will always go back!!

THE PLACE: Cancun grill has been a staple restaurant since my childhood, so ive seen this establishment change throughout the years- always for the good. However, their most recent renovation (not sure when it was done) has really damped the atmosphere of this restaurant. It used to be colorful, inviting, charming with all of their vivid colors, textures and lighting. This time around I found that the restaurant was renovated sadly now has typical white and gray color scheme. It no longer feels welcoming or joyful. It's previous interior design was definitely the "attractive" part of the restaurant. THE FOOD: Overall, the food was good. I have never been a fan of the food here previously, but I found that the food this time around had a greatly improved. The chips we're hot, fresh, crisp and the salsa was to die for. I ordered the birria quesadillas 4/5 thick, juicy and flavorful. My sis in law ordered the birria tacos 4/5 which she liked. My fiance had the Pescado Marinero 3/5 which was good, however the shrimp still had the tail shell on it while being covered (hidden) under sauce. THE SERVICE: Fantastic! "Sergio" was our waiter.

We went here between January 27 & February 6/2026. La Potranca has five Florida locations, but this cantina does not feel like a chain. Authentic sabor Mexicano with an excellent friendly staff. Family friendly & handi-able accesible from the parking lot. This location gets full by 7pm but there is extended service & seating in the common covered courtyard. Plenty of parking in this strip mall location. Service is excellent, fast, & great choices of tacos & drinks. You can choose from 14 different meats/cuts for your tacos, including birria & al pastor. Bow to the taco! Also gringas, vampiros, & burritos. They have bowls (they're BIG) & brunch. p.s. try the churros with 3 dipping sauces. Drinks are extra special here. The clamato & beer cocktail is very unique. Served in a Tajin rimmed large mug, with lime & a tamarind wrapped straw. Excellante! Also a variety of margaritas served in whimsical glasses & their three house cervazas (beers) on draft. La Potranca pays homage to iconic singer & actor Vincente Fernandez "King of Ranchera". Check out the interesting connection with the staff or online. The staff here is excellent. Very helpful when navigating the menu. Very friendly. True professionals. Special shout out to Mauricio & Ralphael - you hombres make this place truly special. Mucho Gracias. We give La Potranca our highest recommendation.
