Big rigs welcome! Huge parking lot adjacent to restaurant allowed easy parking for our travel trailer. This is the best kind of "Dive Mexican Joint" - meaning not a lot to look at from the outside. Looking for something quick, but not too "fast foodish" in Craig. They didn't disappoint. Called in the orders - yes we did a second one a day later because they were that good. The staff taking the order was very personable and efficient. She got the orders right every time. Came to pick it up and order was ready. No issues there. Food was good and a lot of it. Incredible portion size at Jilbertos! My dad and I went camping near Craig, Colorado and just needed something that wasn't freeze dried . We dropped into Jilbertos and ordered tacos. What was amazing to me was the sheer size of the tacos and the amount of meat inside. I gave them 5 stars because this is a little gem of a place up in northwestern Colorado. When I was in the Craig area today (11/12/23), where I drove out to see Dinosaur National Monument; I stopped at the local fast food Mexican restaurant for dinner. This place served authentic Mexican food. It's very similar to the tacos and burritos found in Mexico. I ordered a mixed burrito and a lengua taco. The burrito itself was massive. It came with shredded beef, onions, green peppers, & refried beans. I ordered guacamole in it as well for an extra price. The food was excellent. The meat and vegetables were very high quality. I also ordered a lengua (beef tongue) taco. It came in corn tortillas with a generous amount of meat, onions, and cilantro. I also guacamole as extra with it. I got the pico de gallo at the salsa bar. The taco was also excellent. For my drink, I ordered a Mexican Coca Cola (made with sugar cane instead of high fructose corn syrup). I think this is the best version of Coke. The service was kind and fast. The cashier also spoke perfect English. The dining room had plenty of seating, indoors and outdoors. It was also quite clean. This is far better than the local fast food Mexican restaurants I have eaten at in Denver, Greeley, & Fort Collins. I highly recommend someone to try this place if they're in northwestern Colorado. read more

Update: returned the next day and followed recommendation for the carnitas, wow! Yes, these are probably my favorite now! A bit of crisp external texture and amazing flavor. I'll be back for more! Great tacos! These things are huge. As a reminder to myself for next time, 2 tacos is perfectly adequate for a hearty meal (fine, order 3-4 if you're just wanting to show off or explore the menu a bit, but these things are the equivalent of 2-3 standard tacos, maybe 4 smallish street tacos). I had the carne asada and the barbacoa this time and the asada stood out as superior for my taste and texture preference. Definitely reminiscent of some solid homemade tacos in Mexico. I'll be back for more. Next time I'm gonna have to try the "rolled tacos" which are evidently flautas. read more

I was really skeptical coming here because it's not the nicest looking joint on the outside but the food was great. I had the carne aside burrito and it was awesome!! The meat tasted great and the tortilla was perfect. My boyfriend had the super fries and those were also very good. The guacamole I got also tasted amazing and was very fresh! The only reason for the dropped star is that they took forever to get my food out to me. I ordered take out inside and it was just me and one other group that already had their food and it took them probably 25 minutes to get my food out to me. That and my meat was a bit to salty for my liking but was still very good. Don't let the outside fool you on this place. It is very good! read more

Food: Amazing! Went back a second time. Had a number of different tacos, with meats cooked to perfection, crispy and flavorful. Foodie here, these are some of best homemade tasting tacos I've had at an establishment. Service: First visit through drive through was very slow, waited 40 min with two cars ahead but must have been a blip. Second visit the following day was pretty quick. We stopped here on our way out to Denver from San Diego. I'm Mexican American and grew up on the border so I'm picky when it comes to Mexican food. The tacos here were amazing! Huge portions and very fresh--we especially loved the carne asada taco and the rolled tacos. Will definitely stop by again on our next road trip. read more

(I'm not in San Fran. I'm in Baggs) Don't trust the prices on the online menus! I was surprised by the charge on my card when I saw it on my bank app (they didn't offer a receipt). I looked at the menu online and it appeared I was charged $19 more than the total I got. When I called, it turns out their menu prices went up significantly a few months ago. Make sure you take a good look at the menu when you go there. My bad on that one, but the prices went up significantly. The food was good, and the manager was very nice in helping me straighten it out. read more

Took our order in the drive thru but never responded like they heard me, or gave a total, nothing. Then, took my order again at the window. I then understood why each vehicle in the drive thru was taking about 4-5 minutes each. Asada tacos were bland, no flavor. Corn tortillas were interesting- very smooth, like the masa didn't get cooked thoroughly, further evidenced when they crumbled immediately after picking them up. Curb appeal is quite lacking, but my husband loves the pickled carrots so we popped in for lunch. I got the pollo asado burrito. Super basic ingredients, big portions, strange texture but good flavor. Within half a hour of eating, I desperately needed to find a restroom- not exactly convenient considering we were traveling for a medical appointment and live an hour and a half away. Reasonable Price Servings are reasonable (California the burritos are actually to big) Negatives Carna asada burrito was pretty disappointing, meat wasn't marinated long enough and had a lot of gristle Can be slow (its made to order so it may be slow but your food is fresh) So I drive by here four times a day during the week and it is an effort every time not to swing in. We stopped at this place on our trip to Colorado this past weekend. Both my husband and I are from Mexico. Therefore, we know what Mexican food should taste like. Trust me when I say that this place provides the sloppiest food. We ordered the carne asada torta. All it had was some kind of meat, (not skirt steak) shredded lettuce, slapped on some avocado on the bread. The bread was stale too. They also had a salsa bar. I was hoping that would make up for the meal we ordered in hopes it would make our food taste better. I was disappointed! The salsa was watered down and had no flavor! This place is a disgrace to Mexican food. I don't recommend this place. Spend your money somewhere else! read more

I've been all over the southwestern U.S., southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Mexico, and I am a huge Mexican food connoisseur. I love Taco stands and off-the-beaten-path authentic dive restaurants... Ironically, I have discovered one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the state of Colorado, in my little sleepy hometown of Craig. I've been living in the Denver metro area for the last 26 years, and once I figured out the existence of "Los J's", I am sure to make a pit stop there every time I am arriving, leaving, or passing through Craig, Colorado. The food is absolutely delicious. My favorite burritos are the bacon breakfast burrito, chile rellano burrito, Arizona burrito, and the green chile burrito. The people who work at Los J's are very friendly, and even though there's sometimes a slight language barrier, it's compensated with a genuine smile and gratitude for your business. I love everything about this place, and can't say enough good things. Highly recommended!! read more

This place is a true taqueria. Ate here two times a day for a work trip. This is the real deal. The "Craig" burrito is on point. The Machaca burrito is amazing. I have a tendency to order "breakfast" whenever it is available, and this place came through with flying colors. We'll be stopping here next time we're in Craig. This is definitely a small local joint to get your Mex food fix. Their menu is huge and a ton of variety. Lunch can get crazy. Very small place to sit and not much parking. Food is pretty good.
