Tequilas Mexican Grill - The combination fajitas with the pounded steak, chicken breast, shrimp blanketing the mound of grilled veggies.

Authentic Mexican food and decor. I was the designated driver so had to skip on the beer. I ordered…read morethe combination fajitas as that is my yardstick meal when I try a Mexican place for the first time. The menu is extensive with the usual fare. The chips were fresh and crisp on the thicker side which I enjoyed. The salsa was fresh and medium as far as spiciness, moderately thick and seemed to be made from tomatillos. It was excellent. My main course came out quickly and was quite different from any fajitas I have had anywhere else. The steak and chicken were pounded to just under a 1/4" thick and left whole. The steak was a bit tough to cut into strips before adding to my tortillas, but tasty. By the time I got to the chicken I realized I could just fold the flattened sheet of meat on the tortillas with a lot less effort. The platter was full of grilled veggies including broccoli, cauliflower and carrots in addition to the standard bell pepper and onion slices. The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. The Spanish rice and refried beans were okay - nothing special on those. Overall it was an above average Mexican meal at the most reasonable prices I have come across in years. Definitely a place to visit again.

You know a place is good when it's PACKED on a random Thursday. To be fair, I don't think this area…read moregets a lot of foot traffic, but it is still pretty good! We started off with guac and chips and a mojito and a margarita. The guac was so good and I enjoyed the jalapeño in it! Nice kick! The margarita was great and if you want a jumbo, it's only $14 and it's HUGE! The carne asada tacos were good, but honestly a little dry. The meat is thinly sliced and cut short so it gets a bit dry. But still, with the sauces and sides (or at least the sides from our fajitas), you get a moistness. The fajitas came out sizzling and tasty! I love the sound it makes. That's how you know your fajitas are perfect. The peppers and onions were soft and seasoned well. But again, the beef is still dry! I love the vibe in here. So cute and quaint. Definitely not the nicest Mexican restaurant I've been to (look wise), but they had super fun seats and decor! This is a great neighborhood spot clearly! Ultimately it was good. Our server was quick and efficient. It was a perfect pitstop on our trip and I'm feeling super content!
