The restaurant is in this cute little area with shops, restaurants and bars and is a popular destination because when we were leaving out after finishing our meal the place was jam packed and there was at least an hour wait (but no wait when we came in thankfully). It's important to note that this is NOT authentic Mexican food ... but it was pretty good nonetheless. The margarita flight was cute and gave us the ability to try a few flavors out before committing to a large one. The favorites were the white peach and pineapple margaritas (the other 2 in the flight were the traditional and prickly pear). We ordered the Crab Mexican Street Corn for an appetizer and while it was loaded with crab, it wasn't Mexican Street Corn ... it was seasoned corn with old bay and a few other ingredients topped with crab. I ordered the Steak & Shrimp Combo Fajitas which was a nice portion size (I took 3/4 home) and the flavors were pretty darn tasty, but when you order fajitas you expect the "sizzle" and these didn't have that nor were they have the right temperature ... they were just warm when I wanted and expected them to be hot. The refried beans were yummy despite them not looking too appetizing but the rice was too soft. Service was good overall and pricing was also reasonable. If we're in the neighborhood again and in the mood for margaritas we may just stop back in.

The inside was clean and the bar area I sat at although small was a decent spot to have a drink and grub. The staff was mostly young kids who were very nice. The chips and salsa they offer were boring. The salsas both roja and verde lacked flavor, mostly spice. The chips were fresh, but thick and bland. I think a thinner homemade style would work better. The first bartender I dealt with was great with the menu. She recommended several menu items. I ended up rolling with the Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas at $18 - jumbo lump crab, old bay cream cheese, tiger shrimp, cilantro and lime rice. The lime rice was worthless. It had zero flavor and was dry. The Enchiladas were creamy, but lacked spice and complexity. The tiger shrimp had a delicious grilled, moist flavor and were the best part. My second trip had a newer bartender who was getting her feet wet. She was friendly, but busy familiarizing herself with the bar so I went simple and ordered Birria Tacos - $15 Braised beef, onions, cilantro, lime Oaxaca cheese, consommé. The beef was dry and not tender. The shells were ok. The best part was the lime Oaxaca cheese and the consommé somewhat helped me get the beef down. The portion was very small. Not a good value in my humble opinion. The other patrons were mostly young and enjoying margaritas. I think booze is the draw to this spot. Without it your just getting average Mexican grub. Heck of a location in the Borough, but my visits left me longing for a hot pepper!

First, a small cup of sour cream was 50 cents for a while, now it's three dollars. $3. For a small, 4 ounce cup of sour cream. Wawa charges a quarter for a sour cream packet that has around the same amount of sour cream in it. The last straw was that the girl working there told me that every order gets one napkin. I asked for extra napkins and she handed me one more napkin. Then she goes, "how many napkins do you need?!" Extremely rude. Mind you, the food you guys serve is messy. God forbid someone needs 3, maybe 4 napkins. She looks at me like I had 3 heads. This is going to be the first place to start charging for napkins. The whole eat in portion of the store doesn't even have napkins. Very strange for a Latin eatery who Spanish food being as messy as it is. They don't even include plastic silverware anymore. Avoid at all costs. You can look up health department information on your own accord. It's not good.

Noemy herself was my server. Friendly, charming and proud of her business, she warmly engaged me in conversation as we toured the menu. I opted for her Fried Tacos, Strawberry Milkshake, Chips y Salsa. They were all terrific. It took a short while for my order to come from the Cocina, but as each arrived they were a sight to behold. First the Milkshake arrived, a beautiful bright pink in a large glass. Freshly blended, it was cool and strawberry delicious. Second, the Chips and Salsa were served in a plastic basket; crispy with brown spice bean sauce on top. I liked this far more than red or green salsa as it offered more rich earthy flavor. Finally, the Four fat Fried Tacos arrived on an oval ceramic plate with small side salad. They were stuffed with ground chicken, cheese and chiles and deep fried to a golden tan. Sure, they burnt my fingers as I picked them up to dip in salsa and chomp down, but it was a good burn that had me licking them for first aid. Just awesome! I sat for a while afterward as Noemy was busy in the kitchen, but we closed out my meal with a reasonable check and discount for cash. She invited me back, and I suspected I would accept her offer. 5 Salvadoran Stars for this most enjoyable experience.

The building itself is a festive bright Orange color. I was greeted warmly by the owner as I walked on. The dining room had about a dozen tables but I got our order to go. It had an open kitchen with a small bar section so you could eat right where they cook. It was decorated in traditional Mexican decor. Now for the food, I ordered the enchiladas , one with Verde sauce and the other with Molé. The food smelled wonderful as I opened the bag and it looked just as delicious. The tortillas were fresh and homemade and the flavor was on point. The verde sauce had a great flavor and had just enough kick to make me know there was some spice. It was covered in lettuce and cheese and specked with diced tomato. The chicken was moist and tasty. The Molé sauce was deep and rich and had excellent flavor. It came with beens and rice. The beans were light colored and not black beens and the rice was standard Mexican rice. Overall it was really good. I will be going back again. They accepted debit cards but also had an ATM in the corner. The only drawback is that they didn't have any menus to give me so I will have to search that up on the inter webs. A small inconvenience for a wonderful meal.
