I seen the review in the business section of the newspaper. I had to come try it. It was very busy around lunch time on a Friday. They had a nice menu selection to choose from with very reasonable prices. I chose the #8 which is the chicken enchilada and beef taco combo which comes with rice and beans. While I waited I enjoyed the delicious salsa and cheese sauce. The salsa wasn't too spicy but had a very great flavor. Cheese sauce was just ok. Nothing special. The owner told me that there is a special salsa which is spicier but I didn't get to try because I didn't know about it until after my meal. The waiter was awesomr. He was all over the place. Very busy place and he still had a smile on his face and continued serve, check, wait and seat people. It was just him and the owner it seemed. Food still came out fairly quick. Hot amd fresh. Rice and beans were great. Chicken enchilada was good but I think it should of had a bit more cheese on top but thats me. The taco meat had good flavor but was soggy underneath which was fine because I usually crush mine up in to a little taco salad but whats ok for me may not be for the next. Sopapilla at the end and it was covered in cinnamon sugar. They didnt bring any honey either but wasnt sure of they did or not and didnt want to ask. I was pretty stuffed anyway. I just tasted some of it with some of the sugar scraped off. Overall experience was awesome. Will definitely be back! read more

Excellent food and service. We have been back several times and we still enjoy it. During our visits we have ordered the Rojo Special, the Guisos Special, the El Compa Chuy and a few others. Everything has been very good.My son recently ordered the Cameron Ala Pirris and loved it. We also ordered the Molcajete salsa and that was spicy (I like some heat) and delicious. I'll certainly order that again. I have also found that they have a "secret" warm salsa that was also delicious. The service has really been fantastic, also. We'll certainly go back. read more

We had an exceptional meal from Los Compadres last night. I had the el puma special with a 10oz steak rare, and it was melt in your mouth tender, at a very affordable price. We also had the plato mix and the chimichangas. It was all very nicely packaged for takeout, in trays that could go straight into the oven. I seared my steak in a black iron at the last minute and it was all good to go to the table. Thanks guys, for such a great meal! read more

We ordered from here last night. 2 out of 3 meals were incorrect. We ordered 2 chicken enchilada meals and 1 chicken/steak fajitas. We received 1 chicken enchilada meal, 1 cheese enchilada meal with chili sauce (NOBODY in my house likes that or would order that so it was super disappointing to my son who had to eat it) and we paid for the chicken/steak combo fajitas and only got steak, no chicken. How do you get that so wrong? Also, the tortillas were like burnt store-bought tortillas. Not good. The "cheese sauce" was bland and jelly-like. I never ever throw away queso or cheese sauce, this was the first time I've ever thrown it away. I will never eat here again. And I'm not even picky with my Mexican food! Important fact: I'm from Houston Texas. This was by far the worst "tex-mex?" I have ever had. The salsa was bland, and the free queso appeared to look like flan, with no seasoning and off color. The tortillas were clearly store bought. I had the chili relleno and a cheese enchilada. The cheese was cold and the enchilada kinda stiff. The beef looked and tasted like it was off, definitely not skirt steak. My margarita tasted like it came out of a box. My friend had the fajita beef enchilada, same bad beef and rice was bland. read more

Came in to get a split meal, the quesadilla on the menu said $12 & ended up being $19 with the split charges. Which we didn't even get the plate split he just brought an extra plate. Very overpriced, chicken quesadilla & a tea was over $20. Below average, wouldn't recommend. Very friendly staff tho. However, gelato store next door was great. read more

If you're looking for a Mexican place that is delicious, quick, and inviting, this is it! The staff is super friendly and eager to please. The lunch specials are a great value, and the dinner specialities offer more than you see in an average Mexican restaurant in Oklahoma. The sopapillas are included and super fresh, and the salsa is very flavorful. I like coming for lunch because they are so fast, but dinner is a great experience too. To me it's not worth driving across town to wait in line for Tarahumara's with this little gem so nearby. read more

Just visiting Norman from California for the OU football game, and decided to try my luck with Mexican food. So glad we chose LOS Compadres. Authentic and delicious, even down to the rice and beans. First thing one smells in there is cleaning chemicals, like using full strength solution is somehow better. What you smell affects what you taste. I hoped it would fade, but it did not. The food was dull anyway, so no great loss. read more

Easily the best Mexican I've had since moving to Oklahoma from Texas. Beef Guiso with green sauce was amazing. Be sure to ask them for their special salsa and to make you some street quesadillas, which aren't on the menu. This will be a new staple in the rotation. read more

Located in Norman, but My favorite place for Mexican Food in the Metro. The complimentary chips are light and crisp. (Which I prefer over thicker chips) The cheese sauce is pretty good, but I like mixing in one of their special sauces they'll bring free of charge. (if you ask) They'll also fry up complimentary jalapeño peppers and onions upon request. I like a dish called El Compa Chuy. (Probably not spelled correctly since I wrote the review at home) It's marinated steak which is cubed and cooked with onions & peppers and then cheese is melted over the top. Delicious! There's also El Tampencano which is a thin sliced steak with tomatoes and onions cooked with it. Another favorite of mine is Beef Guiso with red sauce. We are normally very full after dinner, but when we have dessert, their complimentary mini-sopapillas are outstanding!! They have beer everyone loves... Frozen mug with salt & lime. The best Dr. Pepper mix in town as well. We normally dine here once a week. read more
