The atmosphere was very relaxing and the waitstaff were very kind and attentive. However, the food was just ok. Chips were stale and in very small portions compared to your typical setup. Salsa was flavorful but unfortunately not at all spicy. The burrito was skinny more like a churro, and not very filling. This wouldn't be a complaint if the menu prices were not so outrageous. I have to echo Leila G from a few months ago; this place used to be terrific, but we went tonight and it was just awful. So sad to see this. Inattentive service, stale tortilla chips, and an employee sitting behind us folding napkins and watching videos on her phone with the speaker on. SO annoying! In fairness, the refried beans were good, and my wife's steak fajita meat was tasty and tender, but it wasn't sliced, just one chunk of meat! Cheese enchiladas had no flavor, chicken fajita nachos had almost zero chicken on them and were served cold. Even the sopapillas tasted odd. Won't be back. read more

We had a good experience. Service was extremely friendly and fast. The restaurant is fairly small, but it's very clean and well organized with fresh flowers on every table, a nice touch. Food was good overall. Chips were a little bland, but the salsa and queso were good. The rice and beans were not the best, rice slightly overcooked and beans slightly under seasoned. But the entrees were delicious! The tampiqueño was super tender and perfectly cooked with a nice assortment of rich vegetables on top. The quesabirria was different than what we have had in other restaurants, but was filled with delicious marinated meat and heavy helpings of cheese. We finished the meal with two very affordable sopapillas which were light, fluffy, and buttery. Not bad, very quick and adequate service. I had the beef fajita quesadilla plate, I will say it says you get two but it's really just two 8 tortillas folded and cut in half so it's really just one. The atmosphere was professional and clean. I also had a tostada which wasn't the best and a slightly burned chorro, don't recommend the desserts. read more

Los Compadres has always been a favorite in our family. However, the restaurant is under new management and it is now quite terrible. They do not know their menu and even had to ask me how to make the item I was ordering off of their own menu. The food is bland across the board and tastes worst than a frozen Mexican dinner. Where the food is not bland, it tastes rotten. Took two bites and couldn't force myself to stomach anymore than that. Regulars beware. read more

This restaurant was 100% worth it! We were passing through the area of Oklahoma City and were in search of an authentic Mexican food restaurant. We generally look through yelp first for reviews and suggestions and it was very helpful as there were so many options. This restaurant in particular had good reviews and looked like it would suit our group. These "hole in the wall" like restaurants are what make eating food so enjoyable and fun! This restaurant is our family's go to spot. The food is always amazing and they are so friendly. We tend to stick with the same order every time we go but every now and then we branch out and try something new and it's always so good. This is a gem of a place! Also, we had them cater a graduation party for us last night. The food was so good!! Everyone got a huge plate of delicious food and sat and visited. It was perfect! We had a party of 20 for Mother's Day & I really can't stress enough how well it went. First, the original reservation was made & then, we called only a couple of days ahead to see if it would be possible to add *7* more and were graciously accommodated. Everything was set up when we arrived & we were greeted warmly despite it being 1pm on the busiest restaurant day of the year. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu & very personable. He chatted & joked with everyone from my preschool aged nieces to my octogenarian grandparents & was able to answer questions about the food easily. The food was excellent & despite the large group, everything arrived promptly & at the same time (especially appreciated with little ones!). Most impressively, despite some picky eaters in the group, not one person's order was incorrect & everyone really liked their food. I also ordered a couple of meals to-go that were packaged nicely & included chips, salsa & queso. Refills, extra sauces, takeout boxes, etc. were all provided promptly as well. We love Los Compadres. We stumbled upon this little gem one night pre-COVID and it's been one of our favorite places ever since. It's small and if you don't know it is there, you'll probably miss it. The owner is so sweet and friendly, so much so that we ordered to go at least once a week during COVID lockdown to make sure it was still around when things opened back up. The food is delicious and you get generous portions for the price. Our favorite thing on the menu is the Guiso Special (try it with the green AND red sauce together-it's not on the menu that you can do both but if you ask, they will do it for you). It's amazing. They only thing they could say was well cost have gone up. You can get some special salsas from the back if you like very hot. Wife ordered steak and shrimp with sautéed onions tomato's and peppers. She loved it. I couldn't decide so the waiter offered to surprise me but wanted to know if I wanted traditional or Tex-mex. I said traditional. I don't know much about traditional Mexican but I know what he served me was incredible. Seared marinated diced beef covered in sautéed onions tomatoes peppers. The searing was special. Tarahumara's and Ted's set the bar pretty high for Mexican food in Norman, but Los Compradres soars over it. The service is outstanding, friendly, prompt, and helpful. I will admit to being an adventurous eater, so when I spotted something on the menu called the Los Compradres House Special, I was curious. I asked our waiter and he said it had fish, shrimp, beef, chicken and love. How do you resist that? My wife and friends ordered more conventional dishes and I ordered the special. Wow, amazing, damnnn that's good! The presentation was gorgeous, the taste over the top! Word of warning...if you can't take the heat, don't order this! Definitely a 4.5 star review but I can't go to 5. Los Compadres has been in the Robinson Crossing center for a few months now, occupying the space formerly rented by Los Vaqueros. The space is large enough with plenty of table seating. They keep it clean and as long as it is not super crowded you will be comfortable and not on top of the neighboring tables. Service is very strong at LCC. I have been 3 or 4 times and everyone is always very friendly and the food comes out very quickly. The gratis cheese sauce has a bit more flavor than typical Tex-Mex cheese, as does the salsa. I can tell they make the salsa because the heat levels vary. It has never been too hot for me, but if you have kids I would recommend trying it before the kids do just in case. To eat, I went with the fajita chicken chimichanga. This place is not re-inventing the wheel, the serve the classics of Tex-Mex and they serve them well. The platters are large and easily shareable. They include more beans and rice than typical Tex-Mex places, which is saying something, as Tex-Mex joints have a problem with portion control in general. The food was clearly cooked fresh and is well above average in flavor and quality. Everyone like his/her meal and we will definitely be back. Service could not have been better. Drinks were refilled with no request, as were chips and sauces. Very quick receipt of the check as well. Great new owners in an old location, we will definitely be back. read more

I seen the review in the business section of the newspaper. I had to come try it. It was very busy around lunch time on a Friday. They had a nice menu selection to choose from with very reasonable prices. I chose the #8 which is the chicken enchilada and beef taco combo which comes with rice and beans. While I waited I enjoyed the delicious salsa and cheese sauce. The salsa wasn't too spicy but had a very great flavor. Cheese sauce was just ok. Nothing special. The owner told me that there is a special salsa which is spicier but I didn't get to try because I didn't know about it until after my meal. The waiter was awesomr. He was all over the place. Very busy place and he still had a smile on his face and continued serve, check, wait and seat people. It was just him and the owner it seemed. Food still came out fairly quick. Hot amd fresh. Rice and beans were great. Chicken enchilada was good but I think it should of had a bit more cheese on top but thats me. The taco meat had good flavor but was soggy underneath which was fine because I usually crush mine up in to a little taco salad but whats ok for me may not be for the next. Sopapilla at the end and it was covered in cinnamon sugar. They didnt bring any honey either but wasnt sure of they did or not and didnt want to ask. I was pretty stuffed anyway. I just tasted some of it with some of the sugar scraped off. Overall experience was awesome. Will definitely be back! read more
