The food was great! We were greeted by the friendly staff. We were seated and served complimentary chips, cheese sauce and salsa. I had the lunch chicken quesadillas. It came with rice, beans, picco, sour cream and quacomole. Everything had a great flavor, even the beans. The complimentary sopapillas were delicious and they even had real honey. This was our first time here. I was wavering between 3 and 4 stars. The food was good but not spectacular. I had the Veracruz, my wife had the enchilada and beef chimichanga, and our son had the steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas. We all said the food was pretty good just not spectacular. The wait staff was friendly and service was good. The steak on the Veracruz chile rellano was a little over cooked but overall pretty good. There was no ambience, just tables and chairs. BEWARE!!! There was a rock in the beans that chipped my tooth. I went privately to inform the manager and showed him the rock so they could prevent it from happening again. No reaction, and his 1-word response was "Thanks" as he walked away. Sounds like it must be a regularly occurring thing. read more

This place is always packed, so this review maybe unnecessary. The atmosphere is kind of institutional and plain. That being said people don't pack this place for the ambiance. The food is the star of the show. read more

I ordered the fajitas (Beef, the beef was dry and crunchy way over cooked, the tortillas are stale and hard, the onions were warmed but not grilled, my wife had the big burrito, came barely warm sent it back and was told it was because the tomatoes were cold, that does not happen, half of her burrito was chicken and half was ground beef, it was terrible there was no seasoning on it what so ever. Not sure how anyone can stomach the food here. It's not good it's the worse Mexican food in town. I once brought my friends here as a joke because I wanted to make sure they had taste buds. After we left they could not shut up about how bad the food was. I even told them if they wanted to toss their Togo boxes in the trash I drive over by the dumpster for them. I worked here as a teenager and the food had not changed in quality over 10 years. My sisters job once catered from bravos and she told me that barely anyone touched the food. She said after a half hour of the food being delivered it looked disgusting. One of her coworkers pointed at the refried beans and asked what the hell it was because by then the beans had a thick layer of fat dried on it. Better quality food can be found at Guadalupes which isn't much better but Atleast I don't gag while eating it. read more

Walking in, first thing that popped in my mind was Restaurant Impossible. I don't know why, but just felt like the place needed sprucing up. Carne Asada - It was nice and tender. Enchilada & Taco - Enchilada was eh and the hard shell taco wasn't even crispy. Just wasn't impressed with my meal. I did like that they offered some kind of cheese dip and salsa dip with the chips. This was the absolute WORST Mexican restaurant I've been to in a LONG time. Cheese sauce had no taste. I got a chicken enchilada and the chicken straight up tasted like chicken noodle soup (not in a good fuckin way) the beans were normal and the rice was UNDERCOOKED. Also the water has a chemical taste in it my husbands ground beef nachos tasted strange as well. Paint was peeling off of the walls. Crowded. And when we first walked in everyone just SAT there and looked at us (the workers) don't let these old reviews fool you! This place is BAD. read more

Absolutely the worst Mexican food anywhere. I've tried it three times because there's nothing else around. It never gets better. Poor quality products, high prices and smut television all add up to an awful experience. The fake premade shells are normally stale and they use hormel no bean chili in lieu of enchilada sauce. Chicken fajitas were completely covered in onions. I love onions but that was way too much. Large pieces of chicken instead of bite size. Almost no green peppers and the peppers were out if a can. I live about 30 minutes away but Bravo's is good enough to make the drive for! My family and I eat here often. Ever since I found it, I've ordered the Quirino's Special, which is an unusual dish for a Mexican restaurant. If you go, I highly recommend it. Another great dish is Don Chuy chicken. Granted that the chips and salsa aren't anything to write home about, but few places outside of Ted's Cafe Escondido are. In short, if you're in Purcell, go to Bravo's!
