Great food! Even though it is named like a Mexican food restaurant they also have killer green chili cheeseburgers too!

Adelitas is a great local Mexican / Texican food mom and pop style restaurant. I arrived there for…read morelunch. This is definitely a locals restaurant and not a touristy place. The parking spaces in front are limited, but there is street parking. I was by myself and took a seat over to the side. There is one big dining room with tables along the walls and in the center. The kitchen and restrooms are in the back. This is a family style restaurant, with just a few decorations like a mural of a Mexican scene on one wall. Everything appeared clean as far as I could see. My server was pleasant and brought me some chips and salsa. Chips are the typical thin American style. The salsa is medium spicy, tomatoey and zipped in a blender. I ordered the "guiso plate" and was told I could choose between hand made flour or store-bought corn tortillas. I prefer corn, so I was promptly served the carne guisada along with corn tortillas (which were quite good). The carne guisada had more of an American gravy texture and taste than most carne guisada I have had in Mexico. But I slathered the salsa over it and that pepped it up. This is not a trendy place nor super fancy, but you can find good food and pleasant service. As I left I requested some iced tea to go, and they were happy to oblige, and that was nice as I had a long drive ahead of me. I would go back when I have occasion to go through Ballinger.

The second we opened the door Jeremiah welcomed us then proceeded to take our order after answering some questions. He is such a nice young man! He asked where we were from and said he goes to Arizona often. He just smiled like we were family. Thanks again Jeremiah! We went to find a seat and the owner and his wife also asked us where we're from and we start chatting with them. We told that that my wife actually found them online. We were passing through and needed a restaurant to eat at. We get our food and were in awe over the wonderful taste of their food. The owner comes out with two plates of food he prepared for us to taste. OMG the taco and torta were so delicious!! He told us the family just opened a few months ago and it started getting busy while we were there so I'm taking that as a good sign they will be there for a while!! The restaurant is very clean and all the staff are very friendly and checked on us numerous times to make sure everything was ok and ask if we needed anything. Would we go back?? Heck yes we would!! I wish we lived closer so we could!! Good luck to them!!

Though small and quiet, this little grill puts out really good food. My daughter kept it simple with a dry cheeseburger. It comes with a side of fries that are cooked fresh, but maybe needed some time to breathe or dash a little bit of salt. The burger was cooked really well though. Noah enjoyed his carne asada tacos. Liz ordered the Potosino nachos, which were like a loaded nachos. Loaded means it came with beans, grill d tomato and jalapeno, thin slices of skirt steak, and cheese. It looked good, and I grabbed a few at the begining. I really enjoyed my Potosino plate. It was the same thing slices of skirt steak, grilled onion, jalapeno, and tomato that was on the nachos, but my plate came with Spanish and refried beans. (Same as Noah's kid taco plate). So, why the 3? It's a small place, and the dining area can be overwhelmed by a rush. Though the folks that knew were just getting food to go. There's about 7 tables/booths for 4 each, and it got crowded right after we sat down and ordered. Hey, if I can't get my coffee refilled without asking, well... Overall, I did enjoy the food. The place was clean and comfortable. It was the lack of speedy service was on no way a deal killer, but when you're on the EP to SA road trip time management can matter. Check it out if you're stopping in Ozona.
