BEST PUPUSAS locally near us, In Whittier /La Mirada area. HUGE in size! My husband is El Salvadorian, he loves his Pupusas. But he is picky..We usually drive to L A (on Lorena, Which closed permanently) Second choice in Pico Rivera. But they started forgetting stuff in our orders, so forget that drive. I wanted to surprise him for after work Lunch so I searched Yelp & thank you lord I found this place. The neighborhood isn't that great & I am familiar with this side of town so I hesitated but decided to take a chance. This place is clean & practicing Safe Social distancing which I am great full for. We walked in , waited for the hostess to call us to her protected counter. Not sure if she spoke English, my husband ordered in Spanish. My husband started ordering whatever he seen. Lol. 2 Spinach ( the best I have ever had, Not greasy & you can see the good amount of spinach) , 2 Squash ( Perfection with cheese melted rite) , 2 Bean & Cheese ( tasted like Homemade beans) & 2 Revueltas ( Flavored Ground Chicharron meat mixed with beans & cheese) Pupusas at $3.50 EACH ( I thought was a little high/ But THEY ARE HUGE)!!!! So WORTH it!! We really enjoyed that the cheese was cooked to perfection, NOT greasy or over cooked... The cheese was white in everyone we ate. We also ordered a Refrescos Ensalada ( Fresh fruit water drink) with Floating fruit. It was delicious! $5.99 Large. Also for Dessert platano Empanadas (Banana fried with Creme inside) Delicious, But a little greasy. As for the PUPUSAS....My hubby only ate 2.... Normally he eats 5, So you can understand how big these are. My little one kept coming back to try all of them so in her book She loved them as well. Our TOTAL COST was Approximately $45.00 But very worth it. It was a bit of a wait for this order but no bad, approximately 20-25 minutes, we were asked to wait outside. So maybe now we know we love them we can call in the order I'm the future. We will be returning soon. We ordered the following and everything was delicious.. 2 Yucca con chicharrón- This place is not greedy when it comes to the chicharrónes or the Yucca. 1 - Salpicon - Was very tasty. It comes with rice, beans and a salad.. I used the lime provided because I like my salpicon lemony.. 4 - Serrano Pupusas - OMG!! The best I've ever tried.... If you like spicy you will love these popusas. The Popusas are big with lots of cheese and flavor. 1 - bean and cheese popusa. My daughter was very pleased with her popusa. Worst customer service. Stand around 5 minutes for an order that I called through the phone. Then to wait 30 extra minutes after they just said it would be ready in thirty minutes . NEXT TIME SAY AN HOUR INSTEAD OF 30 minutes. People do not have time to be standing around waiting. read more

This place is a great find and we drive 30 min to get there. The food is so good. The pupusas are cheesy and tasty. I've had the steak with chorizo plate and the steak with onions. We also order yuca con chicharrón and it comes with big pieces of pork, that is a great appetizer for 4 people. Absolutely delish. Food was pretty good. Not authentic El Salvadoran food, but very tasty nonetheless-the-less. However, the customer service deserves only 1 star. They took the order fairly quickly but once we were served, they never checked on us and I waited over 20 minutes to get a server (any server) to bring us our check. The music was okay, but way too loud. If I ever considered going there again, it would be to go. Instead of a restaurant with some ambiance music it felt like I was in a club. My head hurts even a couple of hours later. Finally, I agree with most comments that the food was on the pricier side. And the taste, location, atmosphere, and service most definitely did not warrant/justify it. read more

I was looking for Salvadorian food and stumbled across this restaurant. My family and I walked in and were immediately told that they were not open even though the hours stated otherwise and they had signs on the restaurant saying they were open, they also said we had to wait around 45 minutes to place an order because they had just opened and the cooks needed time. I understand that the cooks need time but then just change business hours. Nonetheless the staff were super rude so we decided not to eat here and go find a better restaurant with people that aren't rude and treat customers with the courtesy of respect. read more

This is an authentic salvadorian restaurant. I love the yucca con chicharon it is so fresh and hot when they bring it out most places it always dry not here. I ordered a dozen tamales and paid them when I did the order, but they sold them , because I couldn't get them at 12:00pm and the owner talked very rude but if I paid in advance why he sold them, even he reimbursed the money I had to call another place to find tamales for December 25th. read more

I told my brother about it, so we went to eat there, and since that day every time he visits me from the Valley, he only wants to go to Loroco Bistro. A friend insisted this place had some "bomb" pupusas but truth be told, I've had better. I had a revuelta & a cheese with chicken. Some will say that over stuffing it with cheese is a good thing but I like a balance of all ingredients. I also ordered an horchata and that good. We've had the pupusas (fire), the carne asada con chorizo plate (Bomb) and the surprisingly good noodles (with a mix of meats). We've enjoyed everything so far. Eating there is convenient, so is take out. I don't think they deliver yet, though. Also, I recommend you pay in cash, they incentivize it. Overall 5 stars. We recommend this place. Good big portions and good service the only problem was that their draft beer is flat not enough gas/Co2 other than that it was delicious! Been here a few times to try out the dishes. I'm not impressed at all pupusas are big but no flavor and not enough filling for what they charge not worth it. Fajitas mix really greasy portions look big but mostly veggies. Carne asada plate could use more seasoning.When ever I order my main dish it comes with rice and beans. Rice is plain no color or veggies beans could use a little salt and the Casamiento has no flavor I placed Phone orders multiple times I once I was told 20 min for 4 pupusas and 1 sopa gallina. I get to the restaurant 30 min after I called. My order wasn't even started had to wait another 20 minutes almost 1hr wait time. I brought a quesadilla $8 really really dried no flavor and it's homemade and cash only for the qesadilla. Everything is over priced.
