It was a great experience that provided authentic Hawaiian foods from a food truck called Piha Aloha. Their menu offers the traditional staple dishes such as Lau Lau, spam musubi, lomi salmon, short ribs, kalua pig, desserts, beverages, appetizers, chicken dishes and more. The 3 items that I ordered seasoned steak bites served with mac salad and rice; kalua pork sliders served with chips and spam musubi were very tender, ono and on point. I'm still thinking about those dishes. All the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and from tasting their food you can definitely tell that every single item was made with pride. I look forward to their next food event, I will definitely be there because they are worth the drive! Mahalo.

The worker at the register was rude. In the middle of me ordering, she interrupted me and yelled out someone's name to say their order was ready. A friend of mine also ordered from Piha Aloha today because of my recommendation, and the worker was rude to them as well. I also asked for a side of poke since I've gotten that here before (as pictured in my last review from a month ago), but I was told they don't do that and that a half-pound ($14) of poke was the only option. I was okay with that and ordered it, but I thought the inconsistency of their offerings was strange. The steak bites I got today were another letdown. They were very tough to chew (way worse than the last time we ordered them). Lastly, they didn't have receipts. I asked for one and was told they ran out of receipt paper. There was no option to have it texted or emailed as well. They didn't have receipt paper last time and I brushed it off, but the fact that they still don't have it a month later is a little frustrating. I really do love this restaurant and I'm sure I'll return for their delicious poke and BBQ chicken. But my overall experience today was less than satisfactory.

Everything was made fresh, and the pancit and lumpia had that delicious, authentic flavor we were hoping for. The fried Oreos were a fun treat to finish with. The service was prompt and friendly. The space is cute and quaint, too, so it's a nice spot to sit down and enjoy your food. We'll definitely be back!

Since then, my family and I have been back a few times. The concept is creative, and the quality is definitely there. The lumpia is fresh, crispy, and well-made, and I appreciate the variety they offer. It's a fun way to experience different flavor combinations and put a unique spin on a Filipino classic. That said, while I enjoy many of the specialty flavors, I still find myself preferring traditional lumpia. That's more a matter of personal taste than a criticism of the food itself. The fusion flavors are good and worth trying, especially if you're looking for something different. The staff has always been friendly, and the overall experience has been positive every time we've visited. If you're a lumpia fan, it's definitely worth checking out. Even if you end up like me and still prefer the original, you'll probably find a few new favorites along the way.

I tried out the caldereta and the mechado (?). I liked both items but I found it too oily for my liking. The vegetables were stewed perfectly and the meat texture were nice and tender. I think had I visited earlier in the day, it may have had a less oily texture to it. The accompanying soup was super sour but acted as a perfect palate cleanser after the oily meals. The service was excellent-- friendly, patient, and helpful. You can pick and choose different entrees over rice or pancit. Similar to getting food from Panda Express. The inside of the restaurant has several family friendly seatings available and baked goods and market also. Lastly, parking is free and plentiful right across from the front entrance. If an out of area Filipino asked for a good place to eat, I wouldn't hesitate recommending them. I certainly wouldn't mind revisiting again in the future.

The owner (or lady who works there) is super friendly and can help you out with any Japanese dish. The ambiance feels like it's a little run down, but that's how you know it's authentic and the money goes towards the best ingredients. The vegetables looked fresh and none were wilted letting you know that there is a lot of buying from steady customers. I came to the store for red Thai chilis because 2 other Asian markets did not have them this morning. They have large bags of red Thai chilis in the freezer and that was more than what I was expecting! I cook with a large amount of Thai chilis so that large bag that was reasonably priced was a pleasant surprise. While checking out I noticed there was a tray of bao (pork) laid on the counter. I bought 2 of them for the road. In the car, I busted into the bao and gave it a try solo dolo and they were delicious! I usually wait until I get home to eat them with dumpling sauce but there was no need for that with the bao at this location! Strongly recommended!!

If you want to get pandesal (esp if you're ordering more than a dozen) we recommend calling to order a day or 2 ahead so they can bake them fresh for you! Instead it was a Filipino bodega with a few aisles of grocery products, a cooler with frozen food flanking one side, a window at the back to order hot foods & a table at the front for sitting or eating. With respect to bakery goods, there was one almost empty stand at the front of an aisle with a few bags of Pan de Coco. I had called the night before & asked about Ube Purple Bread. She said that she was baking more the following day & would save a bag for me. What they brought out was a bag of 6 rolls with an Ube filling inside. It was tasty but not purple bread. My friend asked about Pandesal. They brought a bag from the back that were larger rolls. She should have asked for Ube Pandesal. These were tasty & soft. But they had no Ube filling inside & were more like a large dinner roll. It would have been nice to see what we were buying before the purchase. Asking if they had a menu, I was told that they eventually would. She was still trying to decide what to put on the menu. I'm not sure I'll return until choices are available. And please, give us a display of the baked goods. Even putting them bagged in the almost empty display stand would help. The store is in a shopping center on the west side of E. Little Creek Road. It is easily accessible for those of us who live in the Shore Drive corridor. The outside is tasteful & well maintained. The inside is definitely a bodega feel.
