Two chicken plates with spicy sausage and double rice
    Irene W.

Wow! I didn't know what to expect when I saw this little tent set up with their chicken plates. Everything is made homemade. Their chicken is marinated 48 hours in deliciously mouthwatering Central American homemade recipe. Their chicken plate comes with corn tortillas, your choice of rice or beans but I opted for double the rice and did not expect their rice to be so different or taste so good. They use a Central American recipe that's not regular Spanish rice but more like a rice pilaf that elevates the flavor and plate. The owners are so nice and kind it's honestly fun to be able to sit and talk with them about how they started during the pandemic and how they both have a background in the food industry thus leading us to their delicious homemade special take on Central American food. Highly recommend trying this place out! $10 for a filling 2-piece chicken plate loaded with insane flavors and homemade sauces (the green one is my favorite and gives a little extra kick). You won't find chicken this flavorful anywhere else!

Sadly I was too late for their chicken plate on Saturday at Ave26 because they're SOLD OUT very quickly T^T. Fortunately, they still have these awesome tacos up for grab. I really enjoy the grilling process - including their cool smoke beans and flaming oil! Find them at corner of Western Ave and Barton Ave in most of the daytime and follow their IG to find out which Night Market they're stopping by next.

OMG best find and absolutely love the background of how Loritos Grill came about. Chefs Kevin & Shirley are truly the sweetest and make the most delicious plates. Run, don't walk to check them out. Especially nowadays, it's doubly satisfying to help out small businesses and can't wait to see them thrive and grow. Currently the pop up is Tuesday thru Saturday @9am-3pm and sometimes also Sundays and Mondays. They're also at the local night market. Best to follow them on IG where they post updated schedule. Between hubs and I, we demolished the Al Pastor Chili Relleno & 2-piece chicken plate. Gotta say, charcoal grilling can't be beat. Big flavors. Go eat some and you'll be smiling big all day long! -00-

First of all, I always love street food as I was born in a city where street food are always available! We were running late on the date that we visited due to L.A. traffic :( However, the owners were very thoughtful and saved two chicken plates for us when we texted them. The chicken plates were still hot and fresh even they were already starting to close down when we got there! Smokey flavor from the charcoaled grill can't beat we enjoyed our food and killed them in the parking lot in about 15 minutes Location FYI: western ave & barton ave , or just search Loritos Grill on Google. They set up a small tent so you can easily recognize :) parking is not a concern as well.

Their grilled chicken is really good, so flavorful and grilled to perfection. The green sauce is a great topping. Their chicken is so flavorful you don't need the sauce. However, I put it on my chicken taco just to try and I loved it. Overall their food is good and the passion fruit drink is my fav. The staff are great people.

Word on the street is that Lorito's Grill is literally on fire as they grill the meats in the corner of Western Ave & Barton Ave in LA! You can smell the delicious bbq from blocks away, I had to stop by to check out this place. I got their chicken plate and their huge chile relleno burrito. Both was really delicious and flavorful! And yes, this was my first time taking a food selfie in a parking lot. People were staring at me, but I didn't care. They were just jealous of my food~

My sister and I were in the area to do some work and we noticed a crowded little food stand on the corner of Barton Plaza. My sister had just watched a few episodes of some street food show on Netflix and it was the prime lunch hour, so we saw the perfect opportunity to try out Loritos Grill. It was a crowded stand, and the owners even set up a nice little dinning/sitting area for their customers to eat their food fresh or wait for their to-go orders. The chef was grilling up some chicken by the time we arrived, so we each decided to try out the 2pc chicken meal and some cups of the aguas frescas. As soon as the chicken was thoroughly cooked and ready to go, we were able to check out the chef cutting up our pieces of chicken and placing them flamin' hot, right onto our plates, which also came with rice, beans, a jalapeno with some onions, and 4 tortillas, hot of the griddle, it was a full meal! Not to mention their homemade salsa bar, which had a good selection of mild to spicy sauces to choose from. I feared the spice, but my sis told me that they were moderately spicy and added a nice kick and really complemented the flavor of her meal. There was an orange vendor selling freshly picked oranges on the corner as well, so the chef's wife bought a bag and squeezed some fresh orange juice right into the pineapple-orange aguas fresca drink, and I went for a cup of that flavor, and it was so sweet and refreshing. After snapping a few photos of my chicken plate, it was finally time to dig in! The plate was still nice and warm and the chicken was so delicious. The marinade that the chef used was so flavorful, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The rice and beans paired excellently with the chicken and tortillas, and it was so good, that I was gnawing on the chicken bones like a hyena, trying to scrape off and guzzle down every last scrap of meat... I guess was really hungry as I skipped my most important meal of the day, but these chicken plates filled me and my sister up really well for the rest of the day. While we ate, we saw tons of people ordering and double fisting large bagfuls of fresh food to bring home, so the owners of the stand were working non-stop! They chef told me that they usually sell out of their food before closing up shop too, so if you want to get a taste of his delicious authentic cuisine, make sure that you come by early.

Like a lorito (Spanish for "parrot") I can't repeat enough how yummy their food is! It was fascinating to watch them prepare their chili relleno/al pastor burrito... they heated the cheese on the grill until it was past bubbling and then added a charcoal-roasted pepper, then finally a generous portion of meat wrapped in a huge, two-hands-required tortilla. Their salsas are fresh and spicy and I had one of their passion fruit/pomegranate agua frescas to balance. Definitely will be back!

We made it JUST in time before the chicken SOLD out within the first two hours of opening. Can't you believe it? They had so many returning customers who are in love with the great service and quality of the food. The chicken plate was so flavorful and juicy. But what sold me was the Chile Relleno Burrito. It was LOADED, FILLING, and full of wonderful Smokey and delicious flavors. Can't wait to be back for another burrito & to try the carnitas and many options from the menu! I'm drooling once again as I'm writing this! You won't regret this visit! We actually gave them another visit literally a WEEK after the first visit. Catch them at the Ave 26 Family Night Market on Saturday and Sunday afternoons til closing!

It's hard to beat street food from Loritos Grill! The Chicken Plate is such a good value for the huge portion size. You get 2 pieces of chicken, 2 hefty scoops of rice and beans, and 3 tortillas. The chicken was extremely juicy and flavorful from the outside to the inside. There was a hint of charred flavor from the grill that gave it a nice touch. The Chile Relleno Burrito was absolutely delicious. We chose carnitas which seamlessly combined with the chile, cheese, beans, and onions. Everything was packed layer by layer and it was so soft with the warm tortilla. We loved it so much that we came back a few days later to get another one! The owners are very friendly and we enjoyed talking to them as we waited for our food!

I'm in awed by this awesome pop up which is very unique. This Central American couple is serving up some authentic marinated grilled chicken, ribs, asada and Al pastor. The chicken doesn't need any salsa at all. It packs so much flavor. The ribs are really tender. And the Al pastor is smoked to perfection. The chile relleno burrito is so delicious and definitely worth ordering. If you want something different then come here and have a delicious meal.

I've tried many street vendor places ( Ave 26, Tire Shop Taqueria, etc) and I can honestly say this is the best. The chicken is super flavorful and not just the outside but throughout the meat. The rice and beans that came with the plate were also exceptional. I also got the carnitas chile rellenos which was also outstanding. Carnitas were not dry at all and very tasty. People there were were super friendly. Highly recommended!

Going to w nearby night market, I was able to come across their vendor try out their delicious chorizo, asada, and al pastor in one plate! With different varieties of meat, it was great to form our own tacos, but also eat them separately with their rice and beans. Selling these street foods, just watching them grill the meat in front of me made the dish come out piping hot and getting the best flavors. The staff was very friendly and welcomed us to come by any time.

Back then I did not think of that. And now that I do, I say the breeze of Hawaii would help anyone understand that what he did was a youth Indiscretion, like going for a swim in the cloak of darkness while only wearing a lei. Going to Back Home in Lahaina was not a trip back to the Big Island, I won't say that, but it was a moment of joy inspired heavily by a Hawaiian decor that both bordered on the tragically kitsch and the whimsically fun depending on where you stood or sat. But the true treasure of this Hawaiian micro-isle is their fare-- no doubt about that. After the meal my friend Conrad and I went to the front of the house, where they have the to go section. This is where the kitsch became most circus-y. Although, I did not clip everyhing, I did clip a make your own lei kit, hawaiian stickers, and other things that make the place feel like a tourist trap for Hawaiian hopefuls. For me, the tawdry lessened the impact of the Aloha I heard from the dining room. In sharp contrast, the main dining room had this mural of a whale coming out of deep blue water with Hawaiian florals on the edge of the land that was more transportive to the land where coconuts fall from palm trees and hula skirts are a must for every closet. The main room dining room also had these string lights and sphere paper lamps that made me feel like I was eating at a night market where I could see the stars of a Hawaiian skiy but it was both day time, and there was a roof above me. The food was the situation that needs to be address though, with great respect and admiration because almost every bite was supremely good. My friend Conrad and I first shared a Lahaina Platter- basically their appetizer platter or to be Hawaiian their pupu platter, and please do not go for the easy joke it is not that funny and really kind of base and gross, if the wrong person is making it. The must of the spot, unsurprisingly, is their Lahaina fried chicken. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and kind of like karage chicken but different with the spices and flavors and ocean fronts of Hawaii. I know I did not make sense but I gotta believe that Hawaiian culture made the dish great and Hawaiian culture is partly define by waterfront property. My favorite things from the dish were the Lumpia which are often described as Filipino eggrolls. The pork meat was flavorful, the paper wrapping was on point, like wonderfully thin yet still structurally strong, not crispy, more firm with crisp. The Cinderella story of the day was the spam musubi. The saltiness of the seaweed was present but not in an overblown way, the sweetness of their teriyaki sauce carried savory notes that uplifted the sweet notes, in a wonderful way, their sticky rice was textbook fluffy and fabulous. Overall, I would nitpick flaws. And for this review I do not feel like finding the wrong cracks on a whole coconut skin. My main dish was their bbq grilled chicken plate. I could not finish everything at the restaurant. I had cold left overs at home and they hit the spot in this way that really earned my respect, because cold left overs still holding strong that is like seeing a shooting star while you enoy Mai Tais in a white beach---- living the improbable dream. What was best out of the bunch was their Lahaina chicken. And again, even though the fried goodness had withdrawn, the flavor and textured that remained was still, in a way, intact and in some ways optimal. I just shivered admitting that. I was happy with the food overall, and want to communicate that it was a strong showing for a place that sits within a strip mall. Do not just a shore by the lack of its crashing wave sounds. I also love the name of this place. Like I went back to Lahaina, has personality. Like it is a name that drips from the tongue even though it is long. Pluis, saying multiple times in a conversation makes the place feel important. Conrad had some cheesecake with jello and he loved it. I did not try it, but it was unique and I did not think such a dessert existed. The crust was walnut, I would have thought it would be Macadamia. I definetetly love this place and want to back again soon!

The friendly staff and the amazing interior was so welcoming alongside the well priced drinks with all different games on each TV made this place feel amazing. Once I started off with the spam musubi, I was surprised by how it was bland and un flavorful it was. Even though it had sauce on top it tasted like I just had rice with meat as it was lacking the seasoning. Our entrees arrived, which looked phenomenal, but was then again hit with blandness even though it was smothered in sauce. The burger was bland and the Mac salad tasted like mush. Maybe some changes to the sauce and adding more seasoning may help these amazing looking dishes as I wanted to enjoy them but sadly couldn't.

First things first, if you're reading this and do not know Korean, know that the owner knows limited English. If you go see her, ask for her son, Jason, and she'll give you his phone number to coordinate. Jason was a lifesaver and helped me order everything. He was easy to work with, patient and understanding. I had no issues coordinating with him. Then when it came to the food, I got bulgogi, marinated chicken, kimchi fried rice and kimbap to serve about 35 people for a total of $650 so it came out to just shy of $20/person . As you can see prices are pretty high but its Korean food and the meat is grade A quality, tender and the fat has been trimmed so its somewhat expected. Also even feeding that many people we had quite a bit of left overs. I've eaten it the last two dinners and still enjoy it as much as the first day! They brought everything to make sure presentation was perfect. Now we get to the food, my family and I are Latino and we are very familiar with meats/ quality of food. The chorizo they used look gooey and mushy, like whatever you would pull out of a cacique pack, the cheapest of the cheap. Their chicken was chewy and coloring was dark red, I have never had chicken like that. The meat was probably the cheapest we have ever had it was white and fatty and literally dripped oil that looked like the tortilla had been submerged into oil. All the meat was just terrible and the lowest quality you can think of. Now the beans, rice, guacamole and salsas were all good, no complaints about those things at all. Overall it just seemed like they skimped out on the meat prices and qualities but that was y as that is the main and most important thing. This review is not based at all on anything other than the food, and they thankfully were nice and had good customer service. After the event concluded the servers were tipped seperatly and Benito was paid directly, they were kind and did a great job cleaning up quickly.
